Outdoor hydro question

Hi am looking for some advice,

My plan next season is to run a outdoor hydro setup. It will be automatic and will dose the correct amount of nutes into a tank that will drip into the pots, an air pump will pump air into the pots to help stop root rot as well. I need to get the basic design started..

3 quick questions
1) The water for it will be coming from a stream do you think this will be a problem with bacteria?
2) Also what nutrients would you recommend most?
3) Is it ok only to regulate PH? or is EC vital too?

Sounds like a lot of work! Sorry for the obvious question, but why not plant in the ground?
Not a hydro grower myself but there are plenty of people on here who know, I am sure they will be along soon... Will be interested how this turns out!
