First time I tried irrigation, I used clear plastic lines fed from a reservoir. Thing of beauty, until I made a morning visit and saw condensed moisture all over the site. From the air, it would have looked like a spider web of shining droplets.
Containers are nice for smaller var's. Always do 4-6 in pots on the woods edge-they are easy to hide if company comes and the shorter Var's don't need to much attention. Also, it's easied to be specific about ferts and flushing before harvest, try flushing a plant in the ground, you'll kill it. 3.5-5 gal pots work just fine IMO.
