outdoor...............20ft by 20ft SCROG..........outdoor

You should move those girls out to space them out. Make a walk way that x's though both ways to gain room to move. Or lay 2 rows of netting a foot under chain fence to scrog under fencing. Good luck!

That is the plan! I hope the plants get too big for me. That's why I started the plants now so when I put them in the ground around 420 they will be over a foot tall which should give me atleast one lb per plant if not more! I'm hoping for 3 out of each but that's high hopes

I just know from experience with sun, food and water outside what mine do, so I know it sucks but I think you should make cages out of field fence for each plant. Do them on 6 foot centers. Make the cages 3 or more feet in diameter and secure them to the ground with t stakes or something similar.

I did 30 plants in a 30x30 space my first legal year and averaged 3 lbs each with some hitting 6 lbs. Yes, which means a couple only hit a pound....

I think your plan will basically work though, you will get awesome herbs. But you could pull more easier is all I'm saying. Honestly I would change it up completely and do 6 or 8 plants in that space and pull 30 lbs easy and have a much more enjoyable year.

Put the chainlink around pit like a fence and net or screen inside the pit. Safer and more room to work! Give those girls all the room thay need!

There already is a 5 ft high fence all the way around the hole. When rippers jump that one my plan was to have the entie whole covered so they can't really get it

G`day Cali prop

Well a larger diameter cage was what I had in mind . Kanga has those cages as supports.
Not security measures .
You said you didn`t want rippers to be able to pull the whole plant out . Even at that diameter they is gonna be a monkey puzzle to get the trees out . Esp if the cage was anchored in the ground . By the time they cut the cage off, the hounds should have discouraged them no ?

A thief is a thief is a thief. No measure of prevention will make you absolutely rest easy. If someone is set on stealing then they are set on stealing. You can get razor wire rather inexpensive. And you can get motion sensors, live recording security cameras...

I have dogs, live ip cameras, razor wire, motion sensors, and more but I still know if someone is dead set on robbing me they will just tie me up, shoot my dogs, etc...etc...

My real point here is grow the plants properly spaced out and properly caged and you will be much happier in the end....if you really only want small one pounders then don't plant your clones until July. If you want some big plants though, plant in may or June with proper spacing.

Either way I'll still be watching and I know you will have some success either way!

I'd work on keeping anyone away from the grow first. Idea, put the cross bars up at top of posts and fence in a cage. Giving you 9 foot high room to grow in.

Now that's a great idea! All I would have to do is move the cross supports up to the top of the poles.and add a couple more center poles for support! Simple!

The only thing with that tho is.....I don't get to build a dog run around the hole. A 4 ft fence to keep the dogs in the area of the hole instead of raoming the whol half acre.

Either way the thiefs will have to hop 3 fences minimum.

Thanks for everyones input

Ill post pics of the clones. They just started to grow from transplant.

And ill take some closer pics of the little plats in the hole...solid purple just starteing to get fatter

Go for it man. Ive done some pretty sweet scrogs outside. I used concrete mesh wire (same as for cages ;) ) and laid it down, trained the plant to go through. In the end came out with a 5 foot tall plant 8 ft in diameter and full of tops. Just make sure you train her right and dont over water, that is bad but worse when your doing a scrog bc of the constant shade on the stalk. Also clean out the bottoms and dont leave any plant material below the screen, just bare branches.

ill be watching good luck

If you do 12 plants in that space and intend to plant in April I think they will get way outta control and get too big for you. I would take fresh cuttings off your best plants and plant later. And start topping and training right away after planting.

However you do it, I look forward to seeing it in action though.

True that,

So the question, then, is how many sq ft. will a single photo plant need using a ScrOG in a warm climate planted in mid-May, say, for a late Sept/early Oct harvest? I'm guessing at least 50. At that rate, the 20x20 ScrOG could support 8 plants, at least in theory.

Would it be reasonable to do a 5'wide ScrOG in a long bed with 10 ft in-row spacing? That provides 50 sq ft per plant....
