It looked like rot from the outside in. Had a waxy coat on it , almost like neem oil left in a spray bottle after spraying ... Could lots of neem oil from spraying run down the stem , gather at the bottom , make a layer of oil around stem , and slowly start to rot it ?

It would seem I would need a lot of neem to do such a thing . But I do spray often at 1 tsp a gal along with a drop or two of bronners and a tsp of potassium silicate . And with the IPM the neem spray doesn't get its' round in on the plants but every 14 days or so . No neem in other sprays ....

I do not use neem, so i cannot speak as to whether it is the culprit, but That is rotted for sure... TOO HIGH humidity for too long... or wet right before dark too many times...

Did you cut off the affected sludge branch?

Ya I cut off the infected branch , has a lesion looking mark , and foamy sludge stopped , and did not start sludging out of the clean cut at the base.

The waxy coat could have been from the plant ooze .. How it started rotting i do not know . In my 65 gallon pots I put 2.5 cubic feet ( like a third ) perlite/ aeration so it would not hold water for too long .

maybe soil is off ? I'm puzzled . I have over a hundred crops making and recycling soil and this never occurred ... Causes for stem rot ... I'll have to do some reading . Thanks for chiming in , and I'm open ears and eyes to anyone with input or theories to look into.

I'll post soil results once I get them back from MSU

Whenever I see weird anomalies, rotten stems, darkening hairs, high humidity, I always check for hermaphrodites. Usually that's not it but it's always worth carefully looking. I get down on my hands and knees and look up into the foliage instead of down.
This time of year everyone should be doing that anyway. Especially if any weird nutrient or growth problems pop up. And if one plant is different then all the others. Better to worry now and be happy later then not worry and have a harvest of crappy worthless seeds you don't want to plant.

Bees keep flying to it and looks like eating it , it drips regularly , just started a couple days ago to my knowledge .

hey mate , real hard to see but maybe scale , and that would be why its attracting bees as they excrete a sweet liquid ..

1 tsp of neem is pretty low, I don't think that could be high enough to be an issue.

I've never seen this kind of injury on cannabis but I've seen similar things on other plants called galls that are from wasp stings and bacterial infections. Mostly trees like oaks and elms but also maples and some shrubs. They will be hard bumps of different sizes and colors, some get to be bigger than golf balls on branches eventually killing the branch at that point.
It looks more like an injury that got infected afterwards, possibly some rodent left a funky infection.
I had a cutting I took a couple weeks ago develop large callousing from touching the stem with worm castings, but also rotted somewhat, maybe it is something like that. the callouses were a lot thicker than any root hormone could do.

The fact that it was actively dripping into a pile is like bark beetle damage when they make a new tunnel it comes out into a wet pile, that is the oddest part besides the growth itself, my vote is insect then infection or vice versa.

So it seems the pistil death is strain related , could be the humidity as a previous poster had wrote, or some weather condition. I only have two strains out there , sunshine 3 and black hole from norstar .and only one strain, the black hole, has shown the red pistils . I can rule out spray because a few small spots popped up on a different 2 plants of black hole , and I did not spray at all since I first spotted the first plant. Sunshine is 100%
