Thanks guys for the nice comments. Hoping this humidifier helps with keeping my VPD closer to green range. It is the one parameter that I have trouble with. Always very low humidity here in the desert. It has moved my number from under 20% to about 43%. That should lower the pressure on the leaf at least a bit. Help with transpiration.
End of week 2 of flower today. Day 14. Been a good week here. Real smooth. Plants are growing into the 2nd trellis layer and keeping fairly even canopy height. Been doing some trimming down low and defoil here and there.
IMG_9341 - Copy.JPG

Parameters.
1.1 EC with low N.
5.8 Ph
42% Humidity, up from below 20.
Water and air temps hardly ever vary. 66 and 80.
725 PPFD. I always error on the low side for light intensity. I don't push mine to hard. I feel you get better quality that way. I am always about quality over quantity.
Clones I took have popped roots at 14 days. Gotta keep the genetic going another round...
IMG_9343 - Copy.JPG

It is pretty thick in there. Will be doing more defoil this week.
Bud sites are coming along nicely.
IMG_9345 - Copy.JPG

Going to see some more stretch this 3rd week as well. Have plenty of room to go up tho. Also have a 3rd trellis layer I can use if they go that big. Do a heavy defoil at the end of week 3 then let them be for the most part. Looking forward to how this will come out.
Have a great day all! Peace, negative.

Hi all. End of week 3, day 21 has been reached. Got some nice budsites coming along. They are just touching the spot where the 3rd trellis would be. I am going to put it in because they will move up into it a bit and Glue needs the support as the buds get burly. First time getting to use all 3 trellis layers.

IMG_9383 - Copy.JPG

Those burnt spots on that 1 leaf in 2nd picture are from PH up...the dropper hit the leaf as I was going to put it in the rez...base does burn leafs.
Doing some defoil today. Its a bit thick in there. Already have all the lower stuff taken away. Here is the water mix for this week.
hydrobuddy gg4 week 3 2 - Copy.png
hydrobuddy week 3 gg4 - Copy.png

So $1.80 cents to mix up a new rez. Pretty sweet if you ask me...dry is the way! I am liking how it is going so far. The increased humidity is keeping VPD closer to correct. Leaves feel silky and soft to the touch....mmmm. The only reason that it is 1.80 and not like 20 cents is I bought a small quantity of MB no N and it was expensive. The Jacks part of this mix was 10 cents dudes.
We will see what week 5 brings....typically where I start to see leaf issues. With that said the leaf tip burning is just pissing me off so much! I have tried seemingly everything to fix this and I can NEVER get it resolved. Low N, High N, low EC, High EC, lower ph, higher ph, different nute mixes, some stronger, some weaker. More light , less light, more heat, less heat, more humidity, less humidity. EVERY fucking time I get these leaf fucking tips burning for some fucking reason. I have used Current Culture's feeding schedule, Jacks 321 schedule, Masterblend no N and Greengene's formula who uses the same exact light as me...no luck same results. Slightly frustrated here. Plus I love people trying to help but 7 people will give 6 different answers as to what they think it is. Have no idea how to fix this. Makes growing not as fun and enjoyable when you are a veteran but still cant fix a simple thing like this...
IMG_9384 - Copy.JPG

IMG_9386 - Copy.JPG

Here are the parameters for week 4.
1.3 EC low N.
5.7 Ph
Humidity moving between 30 and 40...its fing dry here boys....lol.
Water and air 66 and 80.
850 PPFD now getting some pretty good light to them. They are still praying at lights off so prob a bit low on the DLI still but that is OK.
Hoping to see some chunking up of the budsites this week and some good smells to.
Have a great day all. A Frustrated dude.

hey, looks very nice dude. i like the setup you run, i'm doing coco for a looong time now and recently tried a few pots hempy bucket style with perlite. it worked well but terps where lacking. i remember a forum buddy who has run a diy rdwc with fence posts, the white russian was first class.

Hi all. End of week 4, day 28. Things are going smooth mostly. You have to look very closely but getting some leaf edges changing color. Only on some of the older fans but I see it close up. I upped my P by 25 this water change to help combat that. I hope I have identified it correctly. Week 5 is here and this is when I usually see leaf issues show themselves. The edge browning. I think the increased humidity is helping.
Lights off. GG4 clone only, day 28.

IMG_9515 - Copy.JPG

Couple close shots. Smells are starting to increase for sure.
IMG_9512 - Copy.JPG

IMG_9513 - Copy.JPG

Numbers are this.
EC 1.1
PH 6.1
PPFD 875-1K
Water and air temps. 66 and 78.
Humidity 30 to 40
They are putting on the trichs...woot!
Here is the Hydrobuddy readout for this week. Thinking of dropping that N even lower next week...like to 50. I wanted 75 P but it only gave me 54 with this ratio. I will add some MPK to up that a bit.

Hi all. Getting ready to pop some seeds for my next run. Been years since I said that. Grown so many gg4 clone runs. I have a decision to make on what to run. Got a few fine choices.
1. Malibu Pie from Ocean Grown. Pineapple Hawaiian punch flavors and extremely high resin production. Clone only Malibu X Jawa Pie male.
2. Killer Glue from Little Chief Colabs. AK47 X GG4. Won these in a contest here!
3. Gorilla Dough 4...from me. GG4 clone only female(mine) X Dough G male(Ocean Grown). Some of the Classic GSC genes in this one. Could be a real gasser.
Give me your thoughts on what you think might be great!
The seeds from Little Chief are Feminized and the other 2 not Feminized and photo period. I am leaning towards the GD4 cause I like gas terps a lot. The Pie has my eye to...lol. Always had respect for Ocean Grown.
Have a sweet night all. Peace, negative.

Was searching through the seed storage and found a couple more worth putting into the race.
4. Alien Rift from Ocean Grown. Grown this 1 once before. pineapple flavored hand grenades...
5. Man o War from Ocean Grown. Bruce Banner #3 clone-only female from Dark Horse Genetics crossed with Alien Rift #6.
6. Dough G from Ocean Grown. F1 generation of the Forum Girl Scout Cookies crossed with Vader OG Male.
Did I say I liked Ocean Grown??

To many good choices really. I may flip a coin. All the OG stuff and mine is photo period and not Feminized.

Hey Negative, are you using any Fulvic Acids?

No Fulvic at all. Just the 2 items. Masterblend 0-12-24 and Jacks part B. I may have used some back in my Advanced Nutrients phase. Before I found out about dry salts...
Peace, negative.

Right on, i was reading recently about fulvics increasing nutrient uptake, some fulvic manufacturers recommend running 10%-20% less base solution when fertigating with fulvic/salts. Thought that may of been a culprit to your burnt tips.

Thanks for the input for sure. I been watching a BUNCH of Bruce Bugbee stuff. So nice getting info from a scientist who knows his stuff. He grows in rdwc for NASA...lol. He was talking about overfeeding in RDWC and how the nutrients are taken up at different times and rates. I think I have/was adding back to much nutes on a daily basis. He talks about adding back much smaller amounts. I have been doing that this run sometimes and I think that is helping. Less leaf issues so far.

I've watched a bunch of Dr.Bugbee's material. He is a very intellectual individual. I would also recommend checking out Harley Smith if you haven't. You've probably already have since i believe he's a hydroponics expert among other things .

Yes have for sure seen Harley a bit, Good stuffs.
OK a decision was made by me today to run the Dough G from Ocean Grown. The 3 seeds I had left are in the paper towel and on their way. I am hoping for all females as the other 7 were all males. I was kinda bummed when I ran the 7 and got ZERO females but that's how it goes sometimes. I took it as a sign and did a pollen run with them. Collected tons of pollen then dusted my GG4 clone only female and let nature do its thing. Several weeks later had about 1000 seeds from like 10 seeded branches. I was amazed at the quantity.
Gorilla Dough 4 was born. From what I can find no one has posted about this cross ever.
Here is the description from Ocean Grown of the Dough G.
The initial release of Dough G is an F1 generation of the Forum Girl Scout Cookies crossed with our Vader OG Male.
The result is a potent and gassy og-dominant hybrid with a funky, rotten dough on the back end of the palette.
Training is encouraged to reduce stretch in flower and increase overall yield.

Rotten dough and gas sound fing awesome. Crossing fingers that we get females.
Peace, negative.

My last grow I ran 6 regs of garlic breath 2.0 from Thug Pug and got 5 males and one runt female, she had proper funk but didn't yield. Here is a post from Big Stimmy discord about seed sex you might find interesting. ill also add a pic of the female GB 2.0.

Hey all. Little down today. Tough to look at some really nice buds growing and not have any to smoke... My last harvest was really low, only 1 plant and is gone already. Still got like 5 weeks to go here...fuuuck. Literally sifting through 2 year old scraps for micro buds to smoke. Cannot afford to go to the dispo...the prices are just outta my league. I really hate this feeling. This is where having some friends would be nice but I don't so that's that.
Just get to look and wish for awhile. Day 32.

Hi all. End of week 5 has been reached. Some leaf issues. The fans closest to the light have a very slight browning to the edge and very slight up turn of edge serrations. I still cant determine if its def or tox. Leaves overall are a bit to dark green. I dropped the N even more. Also the Phosphorous. Listening to Bruce he said never seen cannabis use more than 30 ppm of it.
The lower fans look less affected with the less PPFD. Tops are getting 1k. Pretty happy with things. Smells are increasing as well as bud size. Good things.

Love the "white sticks"
IMG_9574 - Copy.JPG

You can see in that shot the issues I am on about. Would love to get this sorted for next run.
Numbers have been very similar except for heat. Lowering that a bit to 75 max now. Also I am going with Bruce again on day and night temp difference being nothing or as close as you can get. Not a 10 degree diff like I have always been told.
Pushing into week 6 and hopefully keep her together till 9 or 10.
Have a great day all. Peace, negative.
