I'm going to document my Orient express and Warlock grow. I've been wanting the OE for a long time and finally got some in my hands. Been trying to get them for a long time, they were eighter out of stock, lack of funds , last time they were taken by Chicago customs. But I finally have them.

The Warlock I've had before back on 04. I did a test grow and really liked the warlock by Magus, but I was inexperienced at that time. Now that 20 years have gone by and although serious seeds has them now, I looking to see if I see any difference, or even remember.
I also have a blue gelato and some Jet fuels I got from a light leak, That one turned out to be a real keeper.

I'm in the process of sexing the OE and Warlock now. Lets hope for all females. I'll be back for the flowering phase. :tumbleweed:

Thanks cough_cough_eer for making a grow diary for your current Orient Express and Warlock grow :)

I really liked Warlock, it was my favorite Afghan/Skunk of that time, and Gerrit and me had a great relationship and shared genetics, it's a pity he is no longer active in the scene, i miss him.

I'm wanting to see the Warlock. I still to this day kick myself for not getting any of the Warlock when Garret was still making seeds. I bought some of Garret's Double Dutch back in the day. I've since worked it into several F3 lines over the years. No matter what generation I take it to I intend to keep calling it Double Dutch, to honor Garret. There is this one pheno that pops up that I wonder if it came from the Warlock or Chronic genetics, that is super prone to bud mold in low humidity.

So far I have 2 males a Warlock and Orient express and 7 unknown. I wish I had gotten the 10 pack instead of the 5.I may get some more seeds. Just buying seeds is addictive. I found a place in Oregon that carries serious seeds , oddly they only offer their magus selections and seem to only have a few left...I wish I could get Ace seeds here in the USA, someday:shucks: . I think I have 2 phenos of the OE, one is taller and larger leaves, the other is more compact leaves are small and thin like a sativa. I'll take some photos.

My Orient express girls..
The smaller one is about 1.5 ft high with thin leaves. The other is about 3 ft high. She's a serious stretcher, I think she grew 2 ft this week and still has some stretching time left. Leaves are medium hybrid size.
Seems the smaller one is growing compact like an indica. and the tall one is growing like a sativa.:chin:
I failed to get a pic of the warlock, but she's looking good. I have a few more to be sexed, waiting for them to get larger.

Hi cough_cough_eer, plants look hapy and healthy :) Both Orient Express phenos you show may have quite wide leaf on the first main fans like Chinese indica does, but the branching and development are more similar to the Vietnam Black mother. This is usually a sign of potential of very high yields, high feeding requirements in flowering, and moderate flowering times.

yea, I've noticed the high feeding requirement on those OE especially in veg phase. They seem to want more mag. than most. :whee:

Just a pic of the girls. I have added another warlock that's not in the pic. Looks like the larger of the orient express has different feeding requirements. So far, I've been keeping everybody healthy, but I know she would like more food. I'll grow her by herself next time. I have plenty of cuts. Already looks like it going to have some large buds. I have one more OE to be sexed.
I wish I could find the original thread I did on the Magus warlock, although it was a test grow for a mix pac. I guess the archives only go back to 2007.

I'm using the Botanicare kind line with cal-mag, coco coir.

my Malawi's. I'm not sure I'm going to finish them its been 90 days already, it was on a 10 on 14 off schedule. My last Malawi took 180 days and the smoke was not worth the wait. The one on the right looks like it wants to walk away. I'm not sure how that happened with the roots. Started off as a large growth at the base. about the size of a golf ball, then 2 days later it split apart, looked like a root wrapped around it and separated it from the coco. I have not removed any coco. Its the greener plant in the back. I have about 2 more weeks before I have others to go in the table. WE will seee what happens.:tumbleweed: Growing the Malawi's have been challenging for sure. I'll try them again.

Hi cough_cough_eer, 180 days of flowering is totally too much for Malawi, even for the most late flowering phenos, something wrong had to happen during flowering, most probably a photoperiod interruption at some point and/or excessive high temps with excessive feeding.

Did you cut off all nitrogen early in flower? Only bloom food until you see nitrogen deficiency because it looks like too much nitrogen in flower for malawi that excess nitrogen will delay flower formation. They don't need much nitrogen at all during flower the light schedule is good make sure your lights aren't turning on in the night cycle and that its dark enough during night time

Just make sure you only use the bloom food early on and in the middle to trigger full flower mode not much nitrogen at all until the plant asks for it by turning a bit yellow at the bottom leaves and even then only feed nitrogen once or twice always giving a higher phosphorus and potassium overall then back to bloom foods only.
If your feeding it the right way and make sure the light schedule is correct you should finish by 90 days thats 13 weeks for malawi

This is tallest OE and she looks ready to finish already. Been30 days so far. I bet she finishes before 60 days. The buds are thick and stinky, can't really describe the smell, I trimmed off the dead and yellow leaves, she seems to be doing just fine. She really likes the nutes more than any other plant I've had.

I'll take pics of the warlock soon. They all are looking good'.

I've started flushing the Malawi this morning, I'm seeing brown pistils, The buds formed better on the plant in the back. I took the cuts off the last 180 day Malawi. I did lower the nitrogen in flower and there was also plenty of stress in that grow. I think I finished it twice.

I saw that Dubi is having a black Friday sale. 50% off.

My other OE, she's about 20 days. a lot of bud sites on this one. She didn't stretch like the other one, actually she stretched very little while the other one probably grew 2 more feet.:chin::whee:

My first OE is about ready, I started flushing today. She does smell good, buds are nice and tight. I think I'll do better next time knowing their eating habits. She will be in my bong in about 4 weeks. I'm looking forward to it.

My Warlocks, not sure what happened to the photos in the last post, but this is the first one and its looking like it ready to finish. I remember in the Magus description says 56 days and sure enough the 56th day it was ready. Looks like this one will do the same. It's at 40 days now

I started flushing the warlock this morning, they are finishing faster, I realized this morning I still have one light set up for 10.5 hours of dark for the Malawi's. I usually flush for a week or until I get around to trimming.

Been trimming the past 2 weeks, I trimmed 2 Malawi's. Pictured is the root ball of one , think she tried to kill herself, but this plant wasn't as large as the other, but it produced more and larger buds. I think the root wraped itself around the trunk. There's a name for that, but I don't remember what it is. Took her at 90 days.

I trimmed the OE (1st pic) earlier this week, yielded nicely, buds were so heavy the branches snapped. She was easy to trim sinse all the leaves died off. I saw on the remaining leaves the tips were going brown, so I think I found a sweet spot for her nutrients. She is a pig.

I also trimmed the warlock (pic in last post)) She has a lot of buds, but easy to trim. except the scissors got so sticky. The scissor hash was never ending. Got to finish trimming her tonight.

The warlock and the 2nd OE both stayed small and will grow well together. And both have the same nutrient requirements. The 2nd and 3rd pic is the other OE to be trimmed next we

Just finished trimming the OE2 and warlock 2 . I can def see where the OE2 might be a good yielder, Been smoking the OE1 and warlock 1, both turned out real nice. The OE1 is a keeper for sure. I look forward to comparing the 2 OE's Its my understanding that the OE1 is the Chinese Yunnan pheno and the other has some Vietnamese traits.:bis:

I forgot to mention I also put one more OE to be sexed, its a girl. I also have a blue gelato (fem) the free bee. I don't have pics of these two. The OE5 is very small plant. It may be stunted. The Blue gelato,(seemed real small too) my first time growing fems, so I can't really judge by one plant, but she seemed hard to grow. She may be stunted also, I say that because the cuts I took look a lot better than the original plant. I did have a pump go out on me during the veg cycle, the rez didn't receive any air bubbles for about 2 weeks.

 I've had a lot of new pot to try. so far, I've tried the OE 1 and 2. and the warlock 1 and 2.:woohoo: I do like the Chinese Yunnan pheno the best so far, but that can change at any time. I have lots of favorites. I think the OE is the first non-skunk I've ever grown,:plant grow: besides Malawi. I just realized I haven't tried the Malawi yet.

I'm getting ready to harvest my airplanes. It was spawned from a light leak. It's from a Jet fuel. I just call it airplane.
Everyone likes it best for now, but I haven't gotten any feedback on the OE and WL:smoke out:. I did order more seeds. I went with AKBean brains Triangle x G13. I'll start them in a few months, after I run the OE and WL a few more times.

I saw that the Zamal bliss is going to be discontinued. That would have gone well with this grow, I wish I thought of it before. I hope it's still available when ace seeds ships to the USA again. I'm just not going to order anything though customs again. Chicago customs still has my order from April, so I ordered from a place with guaranteed delivery, paid the extra 40.00 and although I got them, but 2 packs didn't sprout. luckily my OE all sprouted and one freebee, so out of 27 seeds only 7 sprouted - 6 OE and 1 blue gelato.
