Organic eye candy Elk style

Hey Joe thanks for stopping by. Nice Buck!! If only one of them sized bucks would enter my sight pins on my compound bow this season. :D

I suppose I will share with y'all whats been working for me medium wise.

Clones/vegging plants- 1:1:1 Fox Farms Ocean forest (FFOF)floor:perlite:Royal Gold(RG) CoCo(Organically composted). The RG coco is currently only available in Cali as a good friend has just recently started the company, and it will knock the rest of the coco's off the market, I am sure.

2 weeks prior to flower/flower transplant.

4qt each FFOF, RG Coco, Perlite, Coco chips(medium sized- organically composted in Humics elk style, PH holds steady at 6.3 after 48 hours)
1/4c Vera's worm castings
1/4c Alfalfa Meal
1/4c Green Sand (0-0-3)
1/4c Kelp meal
1T trace minerals
3T oyster shell extractives

It's best to let this mixture do its magic 3 weeks prior too use.

For large plants entering flower, the only thing I do is hit em hard with a heavy Nitrogen organic fert(day 1), and then they are good till week's 3-4, strain depending. Compost tea is added once/week till week 4. I use too many beneficials and mixtures to list, from weeks 4-6. Weeks 7-9ish strictly Guano tea(high Phos), and then water last 5 days. Next chop city.

Fert staples:

Companion 2-3-2
Nitrozime 0-4-4
Dark Energy
Metanaturals
PureBlend Grow
Fox Farms Big Bloom
Guano's 4-6-2, and 0-7-0
Soul soup Compost Tea maker. www.soilsoup.com

Peace :moon:

Smoke report #1

BSHW

Looks like a super chrystal-laden haze like sativa. Outdoors it should be awesome
Smell- The most intense tangerine/orange/lemon essence I have encountered to date
yield is very average, again I believe its an outdoor all the way
High- very nice head high with a lil Indica kicker after a few tokes.

I have this one out to several "blind Testers", and will know more soon.

Smoke Report #2

Albert Walker

Looks- a very nice "cvommercial-looking" Indica
Smell- I can't peg it but it has more different smells and underlying smells than I can count. I am awaiting more "blind Testing" observations here.
Yield- Excellent
Smoke- I have heard the term "fruity pebbles upon exhale twice now. A very thick, smooth smoke. The high is a quite strong Indica knocker with some nice head to it when smoked "elk style" in very small quantity.

There is no doubt that I am looking extremely forward to BSHW, non ICMag cut, growing in full Mendo sun. :D

Stay tuned more to come.

On your Coco soil mix you go roughly 20% coco? where do you get a decent supply. The bricks will only make 1 cubic ft 30x30x30cm per brick and I have seen sets of 6 bricks sold, If your gointg 100% coco you must get a bulk. Can you also comment on coco that needs to be washed and rinsed first if you have seen any that required it. they look tasty too!

All bricks require washing as they are acid washed prior to packaging. Bcuzz sells bulk coco which is good though I prefer a product out here called Royal Gold, which is organically composted.

20-30% coco is a great additive to soil instead of the acid-rich peat alternatives.

I have also had success using Bcuzz coco in a grow bag, though it also needs a good rinsing and is hard to find.

BSHW update- Another friend says the smell and taste are the most unique he has had, though he forgot to comment on the high. Maybe it didn't leave an impression, dunno.

ever have any problems with certain nutes and coco? Some have said the nutes have to be compatible with coco or they have a salt buildup?

Hey ES, great looking buds. I also heard good things about coco. So Im going to try it out.

I went and grabbed some "gogo gro"

and I took some of the Sunshine Mix 4 I had left over and mixed about 5 or 6 big hand fulls into each pot of coco and mixed er in there good. I grabbed some canna coco veg and flower nutes to go along with it. Just wondering if you think Im all set for my next grow? Anything I should add? I just transplanted 6 - 6' White Russian clones into the pots. Going to start the feeding program tomorrow.

Yhanks and all the best

I'm no coco expert, just a fella playing with it organically speaking, doing alotta research, and taking good notes. Just run with it and see how things shake out. One reccomendation would be to measure your run-off on occassion for both ppm's as well as pH. Good Luck.
