thats not actually true Terror, as i know of guys that grow from seed in oregon. im hopin for some seed from them. this cut is Reefermans select cut of the OPT, which was maybe his breedin momma.

CBF

quite interesting CBF, you know i was always astonished as to how theres no purple genes in the parents of the cross yet its one of the few pure purple sativas

there are people on the forums with the parents to get the cross done...someone should invest in such a cross eh? :chin:

well im a little confused to the origins of the OPT. i know Reef had DJ look at his OPT cut, and DJ verified it was his cut.

here in DJs description of the 3 lines he used for BB, he mentions Purple Thai(Choco thai X oaxacan gold). Hibe did the DAB, which has a old oregon purple hybrid in its make up. same strain??

so is the OPT (choco thai X oaxacan gold) X highland thai(juicy fruit) or not. cause truthfully i dont see the cut i have bein nothin but sativas in the make up. im thinkin that the afghani X purple thai or vice/versa is the OPT of DJs. then the juicy fruit later??

dunno, but the cut, has a pretty firm bud, and Flo, BS#1, and other BB plants ive seen remind me alot of the OPT.

the boys up in oregon growin the OPT, are prolly growin old oregon purple hybrid/purple thai. more sativa then this cut. dunno havent seen pics, just maybe get some seed at the end of season.

yes, im pretty sure you have it right CBF...(opt x jf thai)afghani for al of DJ's crosses, and even though the sativa is bred out a lil and somewhat surpressed, some of his strains lean towards the jf thai side or the opt side.

but in your pics, the opt had a wide leaf structure, which could come from the jf thai....but dj said it was his opt, but in his description, he says it was the more sativa parent in his cross. also if you look at the jk thai, it has a wide leaf trait, obviously due to the highlands

i just got really consufed with the opt now lol

So it is possible at least in theory to get OPT seeds? Interesting. Sorry if it pissed you off reign, but Im glad I asked, cause now I know, and knowing is half the battle.

you didnt piss me off guerilla, no harm done. and it is possibe to get OPT seeds, theres people on these forums that have the right genetics to make the corss if you need/want to. but people do have seeds of the cross as said by CBF

also, theres never a problem with asking guerilla, but its always better to do your research before asking a wizard, because then the old sage will know that you tried to look

;), stay safe,

I bet this cut would taste much better if grown outside. Most mexicans do. I can't speak for the opt or jf but the old oaxacans were pretty wide leafed definitely the widest of all the mexicans and were pretty high altitude. I think the current oaxacans are a bit more jungly. They would also suprise you as to the density. I wouldn't be suprised that if someone grew out many seeds (and we all know dj grows out lots of seeds for selections just look at flodica) after the f2 cross that they could get a pheno that produced these traits since the choco is short with wids airy flowers and the oaxacan is fairly wide leafed with long dense flowers. The lack of flavor also seems to fit since it was probably later crossed to the jf and the afghan which are two very flavorful plants. If this plant had those genes then it'd probably taste a lot better especially considering it's djs select cut.

your right about the old oaxacan, we did gyps oaxacan freebies, and it had huge hard bud for a sativa, its the only plant i ever seen mold in the buds here.

we have a OPT outside this year, but alot of the taste was off due to usin a fish gruel in flower for nutes. have a few cuts ready for flower awaitin the DC to grow up, runnin my normal organinic nutes this time, so hopefully a better smoke.

hmm my bad, i misread thaught you didnt see the choco in it. all good though. good luck on the one you got to try. can be super good if grown right. i knew a guy who changed the light schedule to mimic the ones in thailand insisted it made better nugs. i never got to trying it. always something to experiment someday.

hey Jay, yeah im runnin my room at 10/14 right now, have been since BGs thai went to flower, seems the normal 12/12 plants are fine, and the sativas are makin nice big buds, much nicer than under 12/12. have a columbian gold cut i keep in there, and its a much nicer plant then under 12/12. def makes a diff.
