OPTeration Pure Cherry AK48~

Based upon the way they look, I'd take them all 'till at least 70 days (it's about 61 now, if I've done my math correctly). Cut off ferts if you haven't already.

In my experience, most flowering numbers are very generous. I'm sure there are plants out there that finish in less than nine weeks, but I've never run anything that finished properly in less time than that.

Good lucky with it. You've got some tasty looking specimens there.

Ya, I look at flowering times as a general guideline. I can admit I have more then once taken a plant too early, and I'm trying not to do that this time!

Out of all my plants the one that looks the best is the Pure Power Plant pheno #2.

I just love her bud structure and look, more so then the Monster pheno.

Depending on what happens I might try to reveg a couple of these plants, maybe!

As far as the nutes go, In this grow I'm all organic so I don't have to worry about the flush .

A few of the plants do have some problems towards the end of flowering but theres' not much i can do about it now, just gotta ride the wave out.

You still need a several day flush, even with organics. If you don't cut off ferts, the plants will continue to grow, and will not exhaust their inner nutrient stores (thus leaving you with buds that don't burn properly, taste properly, etc).

By far the worst tasting buds I ever had weren't chemical/mineral, but buds I ran guano on up until the day of harvest. Smoke smelled and tasted like straight guano.

Based upon the way plants have looked throughout, it seems you're running a little hot, so I'd def begin that flush ASAP.

All my nutes are premixed into my medium, so there's not really a way to flush them.

But, I have been using plain water for a long time now..the only thing i've ever added to my water when watering was molasses...cal/mag , and liquid karma. I haven't used any of these in at least a month, so I think I'm good to go.

dear OPT, You are a wise man. I am now in the 8th week of flower and checking trics with my Radio Shack special. I'm letting my AKs go longer and only feeding water and molasses now. The bubblelicious are showing yellowing up of the fan leaves and could finish around the same time as the AKs. Time to pull some sample buds on the bottom for testing and giggles. Nothing is worst then harvesting a plant too early then wondering if it could have gone longer, that's how I try to see things.

As far as Nirvana...ya, they are pretty damn good cheap seeds.

My all time favorite strain I've ever grown so far from Nirvana was Papaya, I highly recommend that one. It's a "white" strain and is very citrusy smelling and really packs a decent punch.

After about 3 days dry, here are a couple shots of the AK48 I chopped the other day. Not as compact as I want, but not bad. They still have to fully dry and cure, they might look a bit different in a few weeks..we'll see.



Cherry Bomb drying way slower...I hung the whole plant instead of hanging up individual branches like the AK. Makes the process slower.

Dear OPT. I have started week 9 on my Aks and bubblelicious and will wait till the end checking trics, they appear to be getting cloudy now. Have not seen any amber yet. I'll remember to hang branches, not the whole plant to help drying. I built a dry box out of cardboard with 4 seperate drying lines. I also might try the brown grocery bag for the small stuff on the bottom of the plants. I really appreciate the pointers and insight obtained from your forum. Smoke Report for most of the phenos is as follows:

AK-48 pheno 1:



Nice heady buzz. Not much flavor yet but the smoke is very full and expanding, but not necessarly harsh. I do believe I have the cherry pheno. When I touch that reefer then smell my hands, i get a similar smell to my Cherry Bomb pheno 1. The high does seem to have a ceiling, but good smoke none the less. 7.8/10 overall

AK-48 pheno 2: Not tested, still in drying phase.

Cherry Bomb Pheno 1:



Very cherry tasting, with a very good complex stone. Very heady, with some body buzz, but when you come down, there is zero tiredness that you might get from a lot of other smoke. The buds themselves aren't as dense as I thought they would be but the taste makes up for it. I have grown this strain before and this time was much more enjoyable. I would give this one a 8.6 out of 10, and I would recommend if you can get seeds, to give it a try.

Cherry Bomb pheno 2: Untested, still drying. Had to chop early due to some random banannas poppping. This one smells even more like cherries then the first one. Smoke report later on.

Pure Power Plant Pheno 1:



Took an initial toke off a semi dry lower bud last night. The buzz was there, very good smoke, very simalar to the cherry bomb, but like the strain list says, does have a piney/spicy taste. The buds themselves are beautiful. Not as many hairs as the AK and CB, but twice as many crystals. Like the seed description says, it has very good bag appeal. Overall I'd give this a 8.9/10 for the shear beauty of it and the unique taste.

Pure Power Plant "Monster Pheno": Untested, Still drying.

That is the initial smoke report, will try to get the rest done in the coming days.

After a few weeks I have a few last comments on these strains.

PurePowerPlant (freebies) - smoke is pretty heady, which a eventual relaxing feeling that gets you somewhat tired. Smells just like the description says, piney and somewhat earthy smelling.

Out of the 2 phenos I had, 1 grew faster then any plant I've ever seen. But, the downside to this was that there was quite a bit of leaf tissue. The manicured and dried bud themselves on this pheno didn't look worth a shit really, just too leafy, but dense.

The other PPP pheno I had was very crystally and the bag appeal on this one was a 8.5/10, as far as running these again... I doubt it, at least not for a while. I have quite a few other beans I'm looking forward to.

AK-48: I didn't get the cherry pheno I wanted, and like the PurePowerPlant 1, the bag appeal was somewhat strange looking. The high itself was decent, but not overpowering, very chill. Will I run this again? Not for a long time, just doesn't suit my needs.

Cherry bomb: Love it! Though I did have 1 of the phenos pop some nanners on me at the very end around day 70, the smoke from 1 of these phenos was amazing. They both smelled like cherries a lot, but one more so then the other. It's just getting better and better with the cure. I just can't find myself to get rid of this shit, so i'll hopefully be toking on it for some time.

Will I grow Cherry Bomb again? Prolly not, because I don't have anymore seeds, but I will happily recommend it to other growers. Very good growth, and just an amazing smell with great bag appeal.


On an additional note, I can honestly say this wasn't one of my best crops I've had. The organic waY i did things this go had it's share of problems, mostly due to high PH I'm assuming. I only wish I could have run the Cherry Bomb in coco to see what it could really produce! I just know all the above strains would have been twice as good.

I'm gonna go ahead and put this thread to rest, feel free to jump over to my first coco grow which is going insanely good so far (knock on wood). There you can find Tsi Fly from Mosca Seeds, as well as some Chunk D (deep chunk x Sour D).
