Opinions on bottled " terpenes" and their use in legal markets

A standard of purity requires said ingredients contain at least a certain percentage of said ingredient, and less than a certain amount of other chemicals.
I know what the definition is but just asking for purity without considering the specific use is pointless. As someone just said, some are wired to argue.

We are talking about substances which are inherently toxic. All lipophilic, fat soluble, substances such as terpenes damage the lung when inhaled. Some are worse than others but exposure to all should be limited. So what is the point of having a 100 % pure poison?
Terpenes are not determinants of flavour. They play a role but smell gets worse the more is added (either by breeding or post processing).

If you’re adding a chemical that is already in the flower, just raising its level due to informed customer demand, there needs to be a standard that says that’s all you’re adding.

I‘ve got a prescription for medical in Germany. Every 3 months i have a chat online with the doc prescribing and i was offered some terpenes along with my medical weed to modulate the effects. You can choose what you want your weed to do and they’ll send you a little sprayer to use on your buds 🤷🏻They genuinly think they‘re onto something great here 😂 but it has to be said that the medical weed over here is mids.
But no idea if these terpenes are cannabis derived or synthetic.

Generally regarded as Safe is the understanding that Humans have been consuming compounds at certain concentrations without historical issues coming to light. Some of these compounds may be dangerous in high concentrations but the fact that we have consumed them in natural forms in lower concentrations gives a pass from regulation by labeling them Generally regarded as Safe.

The rub is how we consume these products and at what concentrations? New products or procedures can drastically alter the concentrations of compounds found from natural sources but also the way that we consume them. A perfect example is kombucha vs beer vs distillate or flower vs hash vs distillate, at some point the concentrations of the compounds become so high that the means of consumption changes and more active compounds can be delivered into the system of the user.

Now your into uncharted territory because we don't have a historical data to suggest that these new concentrations are safe so we are slowly going to learn as time passes and we can see what effects these higher concentrations have on the users.

Some people are just wired to argue. It's becoming more difficult for me, but I try very hard to ignore them. I used to engage, and be very specific with my words, but most of those types don't read carefully anyway. So it's all just pissing into the wind.
Tru dat. The Ignore button is your friend :)
On riu i had several on ignore but here, even with some silly arguments with some posters (who actually ended up being allright) i never felt i had to use it, until... Life is too short to get upset over online people, irl numpties are bad enough. Some times one post is enough, when you know you know, popping the cherry on ignore button was actually really sweet;)
