Opinion on new strain name?

Hi fellow growers, was hoping to get some honest opinions about a strain name....

One of our breeders was breeding for years before we met and one of his strains became very popular with the people that tried it.

The lineage sounds kinda ho-hum though because it is a mix of some standard classics - Pre 98 Bubba x (Blue Dream x OG Kush). The name he gave it was "Mrs. Natural".

Is that boring or am I overthinking it? I know it sounds ridiculous that a name is important but it is more than I had previously thought. The name escapes my memory but I remember reading an article of an interview with a breeder and he said the coffee shops in Amsterdam couldn't give away one of his strains - then he changed the name and they couldn't keep it in stock.

Its something I have been thinking about so thought I would throw it out there in case anyone has any feedback.

Bubba dream kush sounds better than Mrs Natural which sounds pretentious or like you're stating the obvious and being redundant

Whos in the news these days? Use their name lol jk.

Regardless of what you do always be 100% transparent.
For instance if you change the name, put on the website; (previously Mrs natural) in the notes somewhere. Or something. I mean as long as you're not a dispensary changing Peyton og to Obama og for a buck, you're OK in my book. Changing the names of strains that aren't yours is kinda sketchy.

No, its one of our breeders that created it. He would be releasing it through us. I'll use whatever name he wants but was wondering if the name might hold it back. Its a great strain and don't want the name to hold it back from its potential. We would only use a different name with his agreement since it is his but I might be overthinking it...

Call it OG Kush hybrid. Because that's what it is.

Ms. Natural, to be honest, sucks. Its even hard to say. Idk, you asked for honest.

Easy answer. .. just ask him... whats the worst that can happen? He say no... is it already well known around as ms natural? ?? That may be n issue but if not he shouldn't be stuck on the name, especially ms natural. ..lol...

He's cool with whatever. He has created lots of strains over the last decade but that is the one that is the one that everyone keeps coming back for. He's in Cali and has sold the seeds to the outdoor growers around him for the last several years and they love it.

Its his baby so if Im going to suggest him changing the name, I want to be sure that Im right about it. Ultimately, he just wants to get it out to the community.

It sounds like the general consensus is that it is not such a great name.

I appreciate everyone's input.

Yeah the name sucks. Not interesting at all. Maybe. Blue Bubba Kush if you wanna be technical about it. Or if you wanna be more marketing then perhaps something catchy. You can use Uptown Chill Weed if you want. ;-)

Those are some great ideas. Thanks for throwing them out and feel free to keep them coming. Im going to start making a list and the breeder, Johnny Noddaseed, can pick out the one he likes.

Its an awesome strain and deserves a good name. Unique smell, great yielder and potent but the thing people like the most about it is the high. He said its one of those strains that when people get some and smoke it, they come back and get a bunch more for their personal inventory.

If we use any of these names, I'll definitely let the contributor know.

Yeah sorry man but the name is lame.
Where did that come from?:)

98 blue kush is my go.

Welcome aboard Johnny. N

So will these beans be available over here soon?

We don't really get Bluedream in the UK.
OG is here, same for the Bub.
