ona gel + carbon filter not quite cutting it !!!

Thanks for that info....I may try swapping out to my 5" fan. I think the 4 inch (180m3/hr) taking into account pressure drops over the filter etc just isn't cutting it.

That's definitely too small. I have a 410m3/h 6 inch Iso-Max silent with a 420m3/h filter in a 120x90x180cm tent.

Ok iv been convinced...I will swap out the fan tonight and if that doesn't fix the issue I will swap out the filter for a larger one

I'm sure you know this, but if going passive intake, have double the amount of intake area as outtake.

I'm with everyone else as well, a 6" fan and filter to match. But...how do you have the filter set-up? Do you draw air thru the tent, and then push it thru the filter? or pull air thru the filter and out of the tent? Either way, any air that can escape into the ductwork without going thru ther filter first is gonna carry some smell with it(cracks and crevises in the light hood). High humidity will also reek havoc on the filter(it wont work as good in high humidity. Really helping you to try and cover all bases, because negating the smell is a #1 priority, as I'm sure you know.

Appreciate your help OG, I'm pulling through the filter. I know humidity can kill the filter if it gets saturated but that isn't an issue for me. The air being ducted out seems to smell fine and there is negative pressure in the tent. To be honest I think it's down to the air changes and the fan probably isn't big enough so I will swap it tonight for my 5 inch heavy duty fan and see if that solves anything. If not I will be changing the filter aswell. I will also double check to eliminate possibilities of leaks however my setup is pretty tight with clips and duct tape etc.

The smell isn't even that strong but it is there and that's too much. I don't know if I'm just being ott but soo close to harvest and the laws were i am keep us on edge.

Prolly pulling too much air thru a small filter? Check cfm rating on fan and filter. Cheapo filters prolly dont work at max rating. Sorry if ypu already stated this info:tiphat: good luck

The filter can take up to 300 m3/hr and the fan is only 180 so I think it's probably down to the air changes not happening fast enough. I'm will look at using my larger fan as the 1st attempt at solving the issue.

I personally would go for a fan that would exchange the air in your space multiple times in a minute vs once every few mins. It gives you the ability to exchange all the air in a few seconds, may seem silly 3/4 of the run but at the end you will be happy you did it.

My 5 inch fan is 400 m3/hr and I have just ordered a 5 inch rhino filter that's good for up to 500m3 I will use that for intake and may put my 4 inch filter on the outlet

this. i had a 4" filter and the fan was just too fast. i would just get a bigger filter or turn down the fan speed. you can get a reducer to fit the new filter to your fan. also you should be doing a passive intake so that the only way air is getting out is through the fan/filter.

Sorry to post this a little late but I thought this post was lost in the ether....Anyhow I found a solutions...I swapped to a 5 inch filter and switched my setup a little so that I'm only relying on passive intake and it worked wonders.
