ona gel + carbon filter not quite cutting it !!!

ona gel + carbon filter not quite cutting it. I have 2 x 1 litre pots of ona gel and a carbon filter. The get is outside a tend with only 6 plants. Any tips ?

I hope not it is a new one but to be honest I think it's shite. You know what they say...you get what you pay for.
Having said that smelling the air being pumped out the exhaust it seems to be filtering just fine.

Seems like the smell is escaping elsewhere....possibly through the side vents I might try taping them up...don't understand the purpose of em anyway. The vent for the inlet fan and outlet fan should be enough no ?

Negative pressure. If the sides of your tent aren't sucking in some, you don't have negative pressure. That's one part of the smell equation that's very important.

I do ...air out is greater than air in. However I mite try turning the intake fan off and leave it passive and see if that helps. Maybe the pressure drop across the filter/ducting is reducing the airflow significantly.

Only 4 inch fan and filter in a 1.2 x 1.2. I do have 5 inch but I thought the 4 inch would be sufficient.
I am only growing 6 but in 16l/4 gallon smart pots so they are pretty big, yielding 2-3 Oz per on estimate. The strains are hindu kush and white diesel haze 3 of each. The kush's are slightly ahead and the main culprits at the min.
The filter is a British brand called buddy.

i would have gone with a bigger filter.....never did say what type it was? Size matters when combating the stank.

Sorry I did edit to show the brand but had to go look it up 1st as I couldn't remember

I may invest in a larger one as I need a second because I have 2 tents.. only 1 in use at the moment.

Do you have any recommendations for brand. Preferably not the overpriced ones if you know what I mean

The stink coming from grows have brought down many a grow......safety first. I wish you the best with controlling the stank which is only going to get worse come harvest time.

I am borderline harvest time hence the issue. They are currently peaking thier stankyness.

The thing is until recently the smell has never been an issue for me.

^^ What he said. figure out how many cubic feet are in your room, figure out how many CFM your fan is and see what your exchange rate it.. If its less than 2x per 5 mins your way off. I would have one (really id have 2 but I over do it) fan exchange air multiple times per min if I had any inclination I had to worry about smell. Getting all that herb is nice until its shut down and you buying them $60 8ths again mang.. Not to mention other repercussions. I would never hinder safety, especially for a buck. That first oz you gotta buy off the streets is going to be over what it was worth for you to grow it with a better fan and can filter.

Here Here brother. I have neighbors all round me, all of which have something going on and most of us have atleast a 6"x24" mounted up...Its hardly necessary but It's for the 1%

Thanks for that info....I may try swapping out to my 5" fan. I think the 4 inch (180m3/hr) taking into account pressure drops over the filter etc just isn't cutting it.
