I normally dont like to fear crap especially when I know how to defeat most of it. But its the shit you cant see that scares me the most.

Hitachi Develops World’s Smallest RFID Chip.

...The time is near when you’ll be a likely candidate to be sprinkled with RFID powder. It’s a little bit like Pixie dust, except this dust lets Big Brother keep a better eye on you. What is this, you say? Well, seems Hitachi recently announced the development of the world’s smallest RFID chip, at 0.05mm square. That’s actually 64 times smaller than the Mu-Chip you see on that dude’s thumb. The new chip, pictured on the right next to a human hair, is 5 microns thick, and will have a 128-bit ROM for storing a unique 38-digit ID number.

Aside from the obvious (and severely paranoid) applications, we could start seeing these being embedded in currency, ID cards and even gift certificates. Hitachi plans to bring this to market within 2 to 3 years.

its just something that will be used as a security feature on money like a water mark or hologram, and it can also be use in wear-houses to help keep tack of there products or for a company like UPS or fed-ex where it could be used in tracking.

Thanks, but I didn't ask how could we use it. I don't think its necessary. Why would we need RFID?

I, the consumer do not want my purchasing choices or my presance near media devices to be tracked with RFID. Figure out another marketing tool!

We have paper money, credit cards, debit cards, and checks. Why do we need RFID?

Yeah, that's it, they need an RFID smaller than a hair for tracking cargo...

That may be what this Hitachi guy wants to use it for. However once it is on the market it could be used for a number of things. It doesn't just have to be the government that turns this into a seriously scary idea. While this could not only potentially tell the government where you've been going, it can also tell anyone with a scanner where you've been. Imagine what coorporations could do with such knowledge, they pay an assload now to get a 'rough' idea of who their customers are.

I've been saying it since 1998, but technology needs to slow down.

Guys if the Government puts those little chips into currency, it will not only track that currency from the time it hits your hands via A.T.M. it will see where you spend your money and who else receives monies from you.
:fsu: think of how that may affect the life you live today. peace DLB :joint:

Because if they can track currency- not just that you have x amount or have some in your pocket but the exact bill serial number, they can eliminate cash as a viable, non-traceable alternative payment. Or tell how many times you were in the bathroom at work, or how many times this month you visited the adult bookstores in a 500 mile radius of your house, etc. The possibilities for evil are probably more numerous than the "good" uses.

Wonder how these things hold up to microwaves? And people won't give me their home phone number, because I might find out where they live!

Worst waste of money yet......There's better ways to do everything, and not all of them involve those fucking microchips.....

Exactly, when the shit gets that small it stands to reason its not being used with the intent of full public awareness.

Yes please, get an illegal firearm and do even more injustice to stoners image. I'm all for second ammendment rights, but keep it legal, and keep it minimal.
