Hey everyone..I having alittle trouble here, this is my first hydro run and i am now having problems, I really hope someone can give me some advice..

Well to start off ill try to give all the info that you may need,
Ok, I am growing in a 10 gal rubbermaid tub Doing DWC..I am using GH 3 Part Flora Series..My pH is 5.7, ppms are 980 do to the fact that i thought i was burning them, it was at 1200 so i dropped them down to 980..Water temps are always below 65 degrees F. I am on day 37 flowering..and I have theese nasty looking spots on my leaves. Here is a scanned pic of the worst leaves that i could find, but it is spreading really fast and dont want to loose my crop.

So can someone please help me to idenify this problem and help save my buds...Thanks in advance..PEACE....

Its hard to tell from the pic but kinda look like calcium/mag trouble. Do you use epsom salt? Do the spots look like rust? and start at the edges of the leaves?

Dump rez. Install the following nute formula:
3.75 ml grow, 7.5 ml micro, 11.25 ml bloom per gallon (3.8L) of water
For 10 gallon rez, 37.5 ml grow, 75 ml micro, and 112.5ml bloom

Keep temp of water at 68 degrees. Lower temps cause the water to become too sticky. This slows nutrients and water going into the plant. Deficiencies may occur.

Adjust ph after adding the ferts.

Hey HazeToker, No i do not use epsom salt, yes the spots do look like rust and start at the edge of the leaves..

sproutco, thanks for that formula, i will definatly use that and try to keep my water temps a little higher..The only problem, is that i just changed the rez yesterday and it would seem like a waste to just dump out all the freshly added nutes...What should i do? Just waste them and start again with your formula.? I ask this because i only have enough GH Nutes to finish out this grow and dont have the money right now, to order some more..Is there anything else I can try untill my next rez change..?..Thanks for you help...PEACE

cal-mag plus will clear that right up and you can still use the nutes in there. check your pm box.

If you simply dump cal mag plus into your rez, expect something unusual to happen. :frown:

Uh oh. Don't blame Sproutco.®

No shit! I would expect him to use as the directions tell him or ask me what ratio to use. How bout you try to fix problems sproutco instead of creating more. With his ppm at 980 he should back off to like 900 and if he adds cal-mag at 5ML a gallon he can expect around 1050ppm maybe 1100. This late in flower he should not change his nute formula too much. he has a calcium/mag def and he needs to atend to that and thats it. You dont need damn math to figure this out. Plants are not math equations. I also pmed him the lucas formula ratio that will also take care of this problem without cal-mag. And before you bad mouth the lucas formula go read your own post on "why the lucas formula is a stinker" in the growers section. Pretty popular ey? We grow by how are plants perform and not a textbook sproutco. As I said before yield tells all. I am sorry pedro_de_pacas for scolding sproutco in your thread I just wanna see you yield what you have the potential to yield.

Then you also said

cal-mag plus and lucas make some very healthy cannabis plants
.

One minute your giving advise to add cal mag to lucas and now your changing your tune to not add cal mag plus. Which is it?

This was not magnesium deficiency. :bigeye:

This is a calcium def. I gave him 2 options to take care of this problem. He is using the 3 part so I suggested the cal-mag. IF he uses lucas he does not have to buy the cal-mag . if he continues the 3 part then should use cal-mag. or he can use lucas and cal mag. either way he will solve his problem.

Dont take quotes from other posts and put them here it does not apply.
sproutco, your shit is over face it. Now if ya dont mind stay outta here and go find some stumps to remove!!

Also, Cal-mag plus does great with lucas if ya need it. Does not mean you have to use it though. he said he had a money issue so after that I pmed him the lucas formula cause he already has the micro and bloom and that will clear up the problem as much as 3 part and cal-mag. or use lucas and cal-mag. ya dig!

"rust spots" huh...
Just a curious question...
Ignoring the nute arguements here for a moment...
Is this condition only happening on a few plants, or all in the grow ?

Please tell me how you're circulating the air and ventilating the grow space.
Do you provide fresh intake air flow full time in the space, or is the air pretty much non moving thruout the 12 hours darkness ?
Is the tub in a small'ish enclosure or closet with no air moving at night ?
Do you notice a lot of transpired moisture sitting on the foliage just as the lights go on ?

question for sproutco...
Why now are you pushing a gh 123 ratio, while you're actively dissing the lucas/ph mix ratio ? ie: Whats the logic involved with this preference to go with the newbie gh 123 blooming ratio vs the lucas formula?

And by what frame of mind did you decide to tell this person to dump his res ?

keep in mind that I can't see jackshit from these dark high contrast picture the user posted and neither can you imho.

Maybe this is you. You don't know where on the plant the leaves came from to know if this is calcium def.

I am just going to call it mixing error. I can't tell or know what it is. I don't even know how he is mixing his ferts. Newbie 123 is better but has to be used at 3/4 strength because when you up the desirable k unfortunately you add nitrogen.

BTW, internet explorer's upgrade from microsoft (version 10 or something) now has a zoom to go to 4x original picture. Kinda neat. I first clicked on the picture. A new screen with the picture pop up. Zoomed 2x (4x blury) and its very clear.

5ml cal mag plus and the lucas formula gives you this:
n 156
p 106
k 183
ca 173
mg 89

Calcium and magnesium are now almost equal. Nitrogen is 156 when it should be 100. And, magnesium is almost 90! :jawdrop:

Please refrain from giving advice that will end up causing problems. Thanks. Lmao.

Be glad i caught this grave error. This is his first hydro grow. We want buds not newbie confusion. I will leave icmag if my recipe does not work. What movie was the last picture from?

Holy shit you guys..I leave for a couple hours and check back here, and its a full on brawl...I never intended for all this argueing to happen..Im sorry..

I just came here to get some help, never ment to get anyone pissed of at someone else.

This isnt a debate..I have a problem that needs to be fixed...either way you all bought up good resolutions to fix the problem...Now maybe everyone get decide wich one will be the best and fastest...cuz its spreading as we speak...Honestly I am probably going to go with the Lucas formula...cuz i already have what i need..and like i said i dont have the money right now to purchase anything....and even if i did it would still take atleast a week and a half to get here,,wich i dont have that kind of time..So I really appreciate everyone trying to help and everyone has their own opinions...There is no need to flame eachother over it....So thank you all for being so kind to chime in and help me, you guys have no idea how much i appreciate it....Cuz its not like i can ask someone around here....lol.....You guys and gals are the only people I can rely on for help...So with all this argueing I am now a little confused....So please tell me would the Lucas formula be the best at this point?

Thanks everyone...PEACE
