Heaven's Stairway was an Eastern Canadian cannabis seedbank, supplying around 300 different cannabis strains. Established in 1998, the Montreal-based company imported seeds from New Zealand and the Netherlands and shipped them worldwide, especially to customers in Canada, the United States and Europe. On or around January 31, 2006, the company was raided and their websites were taken down. A two-year investigation by RCMP's Project Courriel seized 200,000 cannabis seeds, US $183,000 and three gold bricks. The company's owner as well as six other people have been charged with importing and trafficking in cannabis. [1]

The company ran six websites, one of which was an online magazine named "Overgrow", a message board and cannabis cultivation resource for cannabis growers. Topics included cannabis growing, cultivation articles, cannabis seeds, pictures and FAQs. Overgrow fought for the legalization of cannabis by teaching people how to grow. [2] The site was equipped with a unique feature known as the "StrainGuide", which allowed users to search for their favorite type of cannabis by genetic lineage. [citation needed] Their forums were a popular place for members a place to chat and socialize, and at it's peak had 6,016,336 posts from more than 133,000 registered members and was ranked as one of the top 100 message boards on the internet. [2][3] "

I would assume that he bought the gold with the money he was generating.

haha, well apparently not as well known as youd think. what does a person need gold bricks for.. other than to look at to remind you how filthy rich you are?

Gold bricks are a great investment.

Also, they are much safer to bury than money, they won't rot away even after 1,000 years.

To this day whenever I hear about those gold bricks, I ask myself why he didn't have them buried.

At least he would have come out of the raid with something.

hmm. good point. i have never had enough money to consider buying gold bullion as an investment, the only gold that comes my way is those stupid sacajawea dollars. although that does sound like a pretty reasonable idea i guess. i like pirates, burying gold would probably be pretty fun. just gotta make sure i don't smoke before and forget where i buried it. maybe thats why he never buried his :bongsmi:

My contribution has survived! Where could one find a citation for this sort of info? Oh well....

Gold is the only true international currancy, they take gold every where. Gold is also very hard to trace back to the owner or former owner, its posible that RC did alot of business with his seed suppliers with gold as payment.

Alot of international business is done in gold, Arab countries are known for hoarding it, they take the oil out of the ground and turn it into gold.

hmm now I want some gold bricks. I'd build my house out of gold bricks and then paint the gold bricks so people wouldn't know the house is made out of gold and then whenever I need to buy something I can just break off a piece of the house and go to the bank.....

of course I would need like 1 billion dollars first to build the house out of gold bricks.

I actually want one too, just too look cool I'd put on on my table.

it would also be a good way to save your money because golds value usually just rises and you save it longer.

Gold usually goes up in value when most currancys are down, reverse when they are up, and this is just a generalization, its a bit more complicated than that.

Look for precious metals dealers in the phone book, a typical gold ignot(large bar) would weigh 12.5 KG and cost around $241,000, a 1KG bar would cost about $19,500.

You can buy .25 Oz bars or coins.
Buy the Bullion Coins and unless you are an INVESTOR or Collector don't buy Investment Grade Coins, like 20 Dollar Gold pieces from the 1920's

investment grade Stamps on the other hand can be Mailed anywhere, any Large City in the World will have Stamp Dealers who will buy them back.. how ever you pay a higher Commission.

Hell yeah, Sinful, stamps can be a great investment, as long as you take proper care of them.

My grandfather spent a small fortune on his collection, which I inherited. I have stamps from almost every country, some dating back over 160 years. A handful of super rare ones too.

Selling stamps is a bit more tricky. Consigning them for auction is the only way I have found to get the true value. Selling them to a dealer usually only gets ya 50-60% of face value.

When the worlds economy's collapse. Gold will be a common place currency. They want you to believe the is is all mined out in lots of places. I know many places in Oregon where hobby miners are making a decent living going through the tailings of old.
