And do you think these "elite" clones magically sprouted from the soil? They all came from a seed. There are plenty of seedbank strains more than capable of delivering satifying taste, smell, and potency. What's stopping you from growing and hybridizing your own elite cultivars? You are, man.
If flying to Cali yourself is out of the question, read up, post helpful information and criticism, complement good work when you see it, basically have a good attitude. When you've established that you are a good person, other good people will be inclined to share the fruits of their labor. And that's where the PM function comes in
Until you can afford a flight to Cali, or develop the aforementioned online reputation as a good person, I'd start looking for those exceptional specimens from seed. They aren't as rare as you think! Peace man.

Seriously, how far are you from California anyway? Probably not too far for an inexpensive trainride if you've got some time (inexpensive compared to round trip airfare, anyway). If you are broke or time strapped and so desperate for "clone-onlys", my earlier post is also plausible.
