I think the extended light will help big time. these guys dont seem to do well on low level of light. 12/12 could work but i think that it would deprive the function of the auto flower. then again it all comes back to the breeder and they genetics behind the plant.

The girls..in dappled shade.

They were in the glass house a couple of days while we had storms..or I would have lost them.
they went back outdoor monday.

I'll put them into more sun tomorrow.

When I put them in the sun..I expect to water 3-4 times per Day.
I find it hard to keep such small pots hydrated @ our temps...

I like to grow multiple plants in a large pot..rather than individual plants in small pots.
IMO...I get more yield per pheno.
I thought this would be a mavelous chance to check the theory..

So..saturday morning I set myself some ALF#3's away in a large pot.
The 6 inch pot holds 1/2 ltr compo...1 plant..
My large pot holds 25-26 ltrs..
I set 50 odd germs..so each plant will have 1/2 ltr compo each.

Should be a useful double check for me.

I THINK I might lose the germ in the top right pot.
It was the last to show..and was having trouble shedding the calyx.
I gave it an assist after 24 hours...but it has had a stop on since.

I feel your pain. With the cup mods i have done i have to water every day now.... temps are 76-77 and it still gets dry fast in there.

I thought this would be a mavelous chance to check the theory..

Im interested to see this as well. I want to do a mass germ/tub grow but i want more seeds to play with first. Ive been watching anonamix tub of trees it looks fun. And from what i have seen from you its the best way to breed autos.

I feel your pain. With the cup mods i have done i have to water every day now....

I had to buy a jam thermometer to get the correct tile temp in summer.

All the other thermometers I could find stopped at 50 0c..
and we exceed that.

When we get it coupled with a strong wind..
I have been known to flood the girls in the 20 ltr pots every hour..
just to keep them alive.

The tip is..you have to drench them..cool the whole plant..soil and surrounding patio down..
if you water them a little..you steam the roots to death

And from what i have seen from you its the best way to breed autos.

I have the pots wrapped..so I can study the roots as I go...
(I have a theory..)
and watch that I am not overwatering..and causing root rot.

and i see why, if your roots look like that already i can't imagine what mine are looking like, but you have simulators in it so they could be bigger, nice and white non the less

But i think that the expanded clay will assist in keeping them from being bound. Ill get some full shots tonight to show you the cup mods.

FD...Explain them..I see cups underneath that I assume are simply for boosting the height under the lights...
and I see taped patches on the side of the cups..which I'm assuming is some venting.
so explain the mods.

In the close up male bud photo..I see Blue/purple veining..
is he the same colour on the leaf stems..

and if he is...
then to eye...
is it more Thrombosis blue/purple...
than Red/purple.

Lovely growth on them.

I would be very happy with that kinda results on a small cup..
but..
my growth is not like that...
it is very Lax.
