TimewarP: Please see this link, and click on the link in the post to look at the entry form.... http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=53242

I'm not trying to give you a hard time mate...I'm simply pointing out that there was an entry form, an entry fee, and an entry deadline.

Clearly it appears there were some crossed wires in the communication department. I do recall OP asking me if it was okay for someone who was interested in entering a glass item to bring it with them...my reply was no problem, as long as the entry fee is in by the 10th so we know it is in fact going to show up and can be placed on the ballot in time for them being printed.

Anyway, hopefully we see a piece from you entered next year.

Same here. If you go to the cup next year Timewarp, and I do to, I'll definitely want to toke with you, using your pipes.

I believe the few glitches mentioned in the organization so far serve to improve the cup for next year. One learn from one's mistakes right, or that of others...
Apart from that, I've only seen good karma coming from this year's cup participants, everybody seems to be content.
I'm happy for all the cup threads, keep it coming. More pics, more anecdotes.

No one got so stoned he fell into the Singel?

left my arjan bobble head sitting on the windowsill of my hotel facing out. man was that a shock, getting handed arjan bobble heads at the 420, it looked like an invasion of bobble heads when i first arrived at SBoutique, Rofl. :biglaugh:

I heard an arjan doll was tested to see if it floats....

it didn't.

I thought all the hot air it was filled with would keep it afloat.
Mine's in the tub, with my rubber duckie and hashy, the tugboat. :D
Hmmmm....perhaps the child that assembled the bobblehead in China forgot to inflate the head.

:D :D

We may have met but we probably did not know who each other were.
I was at the Pakhuis for the Growdoc/Soma/Adam seminars and at the awards party and I also stopped by the shop a few times.

Maybe name tags next year? :)

No, a breeder who represents themselves as being a 'breeder' who stands to make 'financial' gains from the seeds made (irregardless of the seed co) is a BREEDER and entries go into that category, not the INDEPENDENT GROWER category.

The decision has been made and no amount of bickering about it is going to change our rules, which was clear from the beginning.

this other quote I found over on Franco's thread from Dec 06, anyone else notice this yet?

And......let's not forget about the IC Mag 420 Grower's and Breeder's Cup....in April in the dam...sponsored by Gypsy, IC Magazine, Seedbay and SeedBoutique, which you have entered before....perhaps we will be seeing something entered from you franco (as an independent grower) or from GHS in the Breeder's category? We hope to have plans announced in late January.

dg

not that it really matters now, but it seems to me if MG read that quote he would have felt encouraged to enter all categories.

nope...no slip up...that quote is from prior to finalizing the cup plans for 2007...we 'considered' (last winter) permitting entries that way, but decided it wasn't the way to go...would be too many pros competing against the growers, so that idea was axed long ago.

nice try...no cigar.

I'm going to throw my 2 cents into the pot. I'm going to agree about what happen. If your a breeder and making a buck. Either by being a employee or owner of a company. You should be in the breeder group. I know once i return to the game. I'm going to be in the breeder section. Why? because i've made money on seeds before and will in the future. Do i have a problem being in this group? No, because if i place and beat out Soma, Green House, etc with one of my crosses. It's just means i'm doing something right, and would give me a boost to my hard work. The point of having these two different groups. Is to give a fair advantage to all that enter's the contest. That means the normal grower's and also the breeder's. That's why we have two different groups. I think Dutch did a great job. I agree with what was done and think it was fair. It's simple, if you get paid for either breeding for a company or own a company that sells seeds. Guess what! You are consider a breeder and will either enter the breeder section or not enter. I know it's going to make it even harder for me to place, but that makes the win even sweeter when i do place. God willing.
Take care,
BG

PS, In by no means did i mean to upset or flame on no one. I was just stating what i thought was my option on the matter. If i upset or got anyone mad. I did not mean to and i'm sorry.
Take care,
BG

I wasn't trying to say MG should get to keep the grower awards, I was merely pointing out that comments like that could have been what lead to the confusion in the first place. I think the grower/breeder category separation is essential and it keeps things more fun that way.

I agree, it could have been confusing. I also agree that it makes it allot of fun and fair for all those that enter. I guess we all learned the hard way, but at least everyone knows how it works now. Sorry, someone had to find out the hard way, but at least next year. There won't be any confusing. I know for one . That if i have any doubts or questions. I'll be pming Dutch or OP to make sure i'm in the right or wrong. So, i don't have any issues. Good luck to all and stay safe.
Later,
BG

PS, Watch out for OE. That Girl is going to place next year. lolol
