Gonna make this brief, as we are tired from driving, had a detour in France on the return trip for some biz meetings....

First, please ya'll....stop trashing this thread. Have signed on and read enough to be thoroughly disgusted.

Second, the DNA situation, as someone said, does go alot deeper than their mislabeling of genetics...and even with all the hard feelings which had developed over the past few years we were actually contemplating offering them a truce at the Cup; Gypsy and I had discussed this among ourselves in January 2008 IF they would own up to their poor judgement in fooling the growers with mislabeled genetics who had purchased Canalope Haze by simply admitting that it is a C99 hybrid.....(something they HAVE stated to someone in person at their shop when asked about the situation over a year ago). For about 3 years now we have not stocked new supplies or restocked varieties we already had from DNA due to our obvious concerns of possible misrepresentations of genetic lines, and removed listings from all sites, even though there was still inventory. I was even willing to overlook their theft of a NH male cutting they were safekeeping for me under agreement to not use it....but....they forever sealed their fate with us when they supplied genetics to the mongrat, a lying thieving data mining rat, and subject of the recent court order (see link in my sig line)....either they need sales sooooo bad that they chose to do biz with someone who is illegally operating a site (which is soon to be returned by court order to Gypsy), or, they are no better than him. Either way, it doesn't speak very highly of them. Gypsy has warned folks over and over that their information is not safe in the mongrat's hands....so to supply genetics which perpetuates the ability to data mine, quite frankly is mind boggling....these guys are (by their own admittance) Americans and SHOULD understand the absolute necessity of confidentiality of customer information...to supply someone who is a threat to growers (harvester of information) says to me that they don't give a shite about the safety of customers who order their varieties....a seed co has a choice in who they supply as a reseller...they made the ULTIMATE poorest decision, and are aiding in the further contempt of court actions by a rat by supplying genetics to someone that they should not just walk away from, but RUN as fast as possible, for their own good...so, these actions speak very loudly.

Their recent accusations of us not having their seeds, and what was sold on Seedbay are fakes, is laughable....and soon, once our webmaster pulls their old locked forum out of archive I'll quote their own words from that forum to prove these posts they've been making online at various sites are a fabrication.

Further.......there was to be no cameras (no still pics or video) taken at the 420 Cup events. 'A' of DNA sat with someone (Thumper) in the 'open to the public' area of the Green House who was taking video of everyone coming and going....they were told this was not permitted and advised the film would need to be erased in our presence...as there were growers there attending who did not wish to be photographed/video'ed...but they refused to comply, and because the Cup was on the 2nd floor and they were on the 1st floor which is a public open area, they chose to disrespect the privacy of growers and breeders attending and video them. And anyone here feeling kindly towards this DNA still wonders why we have red carded them from the Cup????? We hired security, which was present at all events, for the explicit purpose of enforcing the 'no photo'/'no video' policy...this enterage sitting with 'A' (and I'm told at the behest of) took the opportunity to breach this most important aspect of confidentiality...so all I can say is if ANY of those pics EVER make it onto the net....and you happen to recognize yourself...you'll need to take that up with those responsible....Thumper and A of DNA.

This is not going to be the opening for an ongoing discussion about DNA....a few questions were asked, and I've answered....anything else to be said will be said in another thread when the photos are uploaded of their packs they claim are fake (LOL) along with their very own quotes regarding these seeds....is a shame to have to do things this way, but hey, they brought it on themselves, so it's going to be finished...and finished by proving the accusations they've recently made as falsities.

As for entries, it goes without saying that there will always be more entries from locals than from those abroad, purely from a logistical point of view. Instead of picking on anyone for not entering, or picking on those who did enter (even with multiple entries) why not simply rejoice that an event such as this can even take place...and be greatful, as we are, that there were 25 samples to keep the judges very busy testing and grading, much to their delight.

I would just like to thank ALL who attended and entered the ICM 2008 4/20 Growers and Breeders Cup....

As usual it was a fun and fruitfull competition...

This year we had 25 entries and I am sure that the judges had alot on their plate to judge during the proceedings....

The winners were found based on the marks they received from the ballots that were given in, then we processed the results thru our ICM computer program for the end results....All entries were blind judged......so it was a fair competition....

Congratulations to the winners......and for the entrants that did not place, maybe next year will bring you more success?

Special regards go out to JLP for sharing what would have been his entries with those around me at the Cup.....Sadly....due to their not being quite enough for entering JLP's offerings were not entered this year but his Vanillaluna, Cocoa Kush and SDIBL were praised by many including myself.....and could well have placed if there was enough of the erb' to enter!

My heart goes out to Big Buddah and Sqwirl who's entries did not make it to us in time....please make sure you enter earlier next time to ensure your entry makes it.......

It was a nice surprise to see Smokey and Mrs Smokey show up.....my apologies for not being up to dinner due to severe jet-lag guys......I was falling asleep in the late afternoon....damn!......I hope that you both had a great time anyway....

Capt Crip, Growdoc.....Delta 9, Sam Skunkman, Big Buddha, Gerrit (Magus)....Soma, Simon (Serious).....Mosca Negra.....Core......Brightside....Hazyfontazy.....Mitsu....and many others too numerous to mention all helped to make this years Cup the event to be at.........Thanks for showing up!

Big props to Mila (Pollinator Company) and The Greenhouse staff for letting us use their premesis during the event......The free breakfast at The Greenhouse United was delicious.......and Milas Bubbleator demo and Huge Hookah smoke up went down VERY well.....

As for the DNA controversey.......I don't like bad vibes to propergate around the event due to exclusions etc.......it does nothing for no-body...
I first met DNA when they were just growers from the U.S. who showed up in the Dam a few years ago and I decided to encourage them to make seeds......they were innitially just going to grow erb' for the coffeeshops......but since they seemed to need a little help to get started I found them alot of Powerplant clones and introduced them to some breeders who supplied them with pollen to produce the first seeds they ever made (the 'Who's ya Daddy' mix).....These seeds I bought from them and gave them away as 'freebies' to help get them known throughout the growing world.....I also gave them some HPS lights and encouraged them to read Marijuana Botany (the book).....so that they could find the knowledge to breed with due to it being quite obvious to me that at the time they did not have much of a clue how to go about it............Then when I discovered that they were putting out a variety called Cannalope Haze that I tested and was convinced that it was actually a Cindy'99 pheno....(so were many others).....and I had supplied them with C99 genetics prior to that......DNA tried to lie about it and I decided that it was not in my best interests to continue helping them any more nor distributing any new stock from them........Kinda sad really.....but thats the way it is........

Years go by and it looks to me like DNA are still there and have been saying all sorts of nasty stuff about me and D.G......seems to be the way things go when I help some people out in this industry.......then later they just wan't to diss you because you have then figured out whats their modus......

Anyway.....not to put a damper on anything.......was a good time had by all........and I hope to see ya'll and many others that could not make it this year....NEXT YEAR!

Thank you honey...but the biggest thanks goes to Oldpink....700 samples (25 entries x 28 judge packs) to be made...was no easy task...in order to coordinate all that it meant:

1. Assigning a blind number to an entrant
2. Entering the blind number and entrant info into the computer program
3. Making labels for each sample, putting the labels on 700 baggies
4. Photographing each entry
5. Dividing each entry up (by weight) and bagging it
6. Preparing 28 complete judge packets
7. After all entries entered into the program, printing out the judge ballots
8. Getting the entries to all the judges (not an easy task in a town with so many distractions LOL)

Try doing all that in less than 24 hours!

A very big thank you to OP! He made sure all judges received their samples as quickly as possible after the entry deadline...and I believe he did a bang up job! In fact, he didn't even relate to me how sick he really was until AFTER the judge packs were all distributed. OP is solid as a rock, a true friend, and deserves much respect for his untiring dedication and contribution to our event!

I find the contest being as fair as possible when a bunch of tokers cling together trying to evaluate 25samples and a bit more in a few days -and that in a foreign country, outside their usual environment!!!

IMO there where mostlyfine weed and hash entered, but the quality was very equal. Only 1 or 2 in each category being lousier or better. (Most also had a very similar specter of taste/boquet, but the ones really marking themselves got best points.)

Every sample was give 1-10 points in 4 categories (appearance, taste, boquet, potency/high) + allover impression points. I think this gives it all a quite fair evaluation, except for the short time it's being done at.)

I loved joining the cup as a judge, and will probably do it again.... Maybe I'll enter if I find a really interesting herb, or even just find a way of sending my own down for sharing. (Judging, competing, hanging around sampling or whatever. At least I shall return in one way or another. Just meeting the fellow Ic'ers was worth every penny and minute spent.)

i must say a big thanks to GYPSY DUTCHGROWN and OLD PINK

for puting this cup on and also thank Mila for leting us use the pollinator
also the Greenhouse for letting us use the new coffeshop for wake n bake everyday
and the friendly staff there
great bunch of workers(give em a bonus)

i had a blast met some great people tried peoples lovely weed and did some serious chating about strains and growing with everyone

i will be back every year

its all about the good people you meet and chat and smoke with
that is the cup
and that is why i love it

I could not have put it better myself....The cup is just a bonus for being there....The Dam is a wonderful place to visit with excellent people living there...(and just like anywhere a few not so wonderful LOL!)

Being able to meet so many of you was the absolute highlight of the trip and to see whats being smoked in Adam,England,Germany,Spain and others is such a bonus as well....
These guys are 1st class growers and know their shit!!
Just like we do here in the states...Sure we may use different methods from time to time but the results are the same.....!st grade cannabis!
The flowers smoked from ojd,Truecannabliss,Dr.D show what the ol' English fellas can do....And they can do!!!
Sitting with Hazey........Now thats a trip and if he doesn't make you laugh it's not him in front of you!!!I promise!!Great knowledgable person!Folks can learn a thing or 2 from Hazey so open your ears people....
