Big money growing weed is a good thing. Big money will protect it's interests. Did mom and pop growers ever put up the monies to change laws?

I just read about this place.. Says "The Oakland City Council authorized the building of 4 industrial-scale indoor facilities, of 1 which would reportedly be up to 100,000 sq ft in size and capable of harvasting and processing 58 lbs per day- everyday. Numbers like that indicate Oakland's clear intent in growing cannabis for far more than local consumption." High Times..

That's a lot of weight to be put on the street.. Won't that make the price of bud drop when there's a ton of it around??

I'm reminded of a quote: ""i'm all for a little larceny as long as I'm in on it"

wow what the fuck is going on around here lately? seems like theres a bunch of people hating on local growers who kept the market alive for the past decades. oh who cares about them they are all greedy gangsters right? "fuck the counterculture its weak...give it to big pharma i want some cheap beasters!" unbelievable...

big money growing weed is good? get your head out your ass...

what... the ... fuck.... really?

word.....people are forgetting their roots....this eagerness to go commercial big pharma is sickening....this anti-grower attitude is really getting pretty popular post 19...

most will not end up on the street, but it will hurt street prices. not like thats a bad thing...60 an 8th is pretty outrageous. but 20 an 8th will not sustain growers. no point spending thousands of dollars to run a 10k operation if indoors packs are only selling for 1500 a lb.

most of that beaster crap will end up in the clubs for cheap prices i assume...maybe it will bring the price of hash oil down...who knows.

if weed becomes devalued as much as some of you claim theres gonna be alot of angry mother fuckers itching to burn that warehouse down lol...

this type of thing is tanking the market.
alot of people are losing work growing quality product.

dont even get me started with the noobs flooding the humboldt outdoor garbage. loaded with dust and dirt, bug remains all kinds of stuff.

If anything, that will make quality grown bud more valuable.

Mercedes vs. Ford in my book

I'm not trying to compete with the bottom-feeders.

As above, not if it's shitty weed.

A discerning market, medical or otherwise, will find it's own level.

Econ 101

I got news for you all, you wanna bitch and complain about the free market? Thank your lucky stars our fucked-up government ain't runnin' the program...subsidized weed for 50/Z...oh, big-fucking-brother. :moon:

Yes, it will do the same thing to the quality as well. Guaranteed. Someone used Wal-Mart for an example, look at their products....TRASH. People still shop there, but those who want the good shit, know where to get it ;)

Bottom line, this grow is illegal, but its not like there haven't been other grows this size poppin off for a long time in lots of other places besides stroakland...and to be honest, half of those canopies look like they aren't gonna yield shit compared to what they should, and if you think that anyone is gonna spend all that time and money to grow weed for a profit, they damn sure aren't gonna sell it at unheard of low prices, gotta be kiddin me...

not to mention, if they were getting 2 per light, which clearly they aren't, they'd still have to be harvesting 25 lights per day to reach these supposed goals of 58lb per day, and on a 60 day cycle that'd take 1500 lights, not 250....

I agree, DaKind Bud will always be in demand and word will get out that the large scale industrial grows are sh** and us connisuers will stay away from it...I'd rather buy from a dispensery that gets it's stock from high quality mom and pop growers! These dispenseries will be able to use that in marketing, like organic grown weed and the consumers will know where to go for quality! Plus you get more variety in your selections that way.

This country was founded upon capitalism, without it where would we be?

Screw spreading the wealth, screw socialist America - that'll be the day I take to the streets. Who cares if its commercial or not? Its coming from us - America, fuck yea.

If your growing some dank buds more power to you, keep on doing it, why could you honestly give a hoot? This is exactly where these folks started.

Its seems to me your all crying over nothing other than someone just like you or me seized opportunity... with great success at that.

I have great respect with the people who take the time and energy to prevail in something as great as this, because clearly 95%+ of us haven't, including myself and most of us don't even know where to begin, that's why we're all here at icmag.

If anything these growers have mastered the art of cannabis. How can you even disrespect this. They were in our same shoes at one point or another, take your head out of your ass and realize that cannabis is a growing Industry.

This ain't the 60's folks. Welcome to the 21st century. Why fight a good thing already in motion.

As far as this hurting local growers, how does that even make any sense to any of you? If anything this is just empowering them. Showing them that this is possible and anyone, yes anyone can achieve this.

Anti-Grower attitude…. Really? Hippie liberal douche is never happy and neither is republican redneck, I guess that’s why and unfortunately we’ll continue to disagree.

Don’t we want to decrease the value of cannabis? I know I’m sure as hell tired of paying an outrageous 60 an 1/8th and even 250 an ounce and I’m just on the east coast.

Anyone who thinks that burning down American production is just loco in my opinion, yes my opinion, but I gather there are others like minded.

Get your tree huggin mind out of the clouds and understand that if your just willing to throw our own production out the window, you clearly are only worried about yourself and not that of your neighbor.

Are you worried about your neighbor or just worried about having to sell your bag for a few dollars less?

C’mon people, get real

O and as far as being ungreen… Two thumbs up. We need to start drilling more and more in our own states and coast instead of making it harder and harder for Americans to produce their own goods.

Our current government isn’t doing anything to help us, just limiting us and sending our demands over seas. Sure it’s been happening for a while and I don’t necessarily agree with any administration but our current one is pissin me off.

If it were up to me I’d make it easier for the energy industry to go nuclear in remote areas of our country, not so it takes decades to build a plant.

For real, a car that’d never require refueling.. Im down. But that’s a totally different argument altogether.

It’s a shame there’s such a great misconception in this country on free trade and big business. That’s what made us great, that’s how we’ll continue to thrive and that’s exactly how new business opportunities are created.

Embrace it ya’ll, that’s how this country’s greatness was established… And I love it.

O and as far as cannaisseurs go, I personally think its gotten a bit ridiculous.

I know that when I want to get high... That's it, I want to get high. I guess flavors and colors and outrageous names are cool, but then again that's how big business works, make it appealing and people buy in.

Hi. Unless you are writing via your internet mind control your mouth is on the teet of some big capitalist company in some way shape or form. I mean you support these things with every dollar you earn and spend. I try not to play the game, but when I do I try to use it to my advantage.

Socialism= Economic and political theory advocating public or common ownership of the means of production and allocation of resources.
You think it's "socialist" to have rules limiting the size of grows? We can have many small growers supplying the market and making a living or we can have some super rich corporation paying a few corporate officers millions while all their employees make minimum wage. Eventually all weed would be grown in whatever the lowest wage country in the world happens to be at that moment, not in the US, so it won't be coming from us at all. Either choice has nothing to do with socialism.
I can't imagine you're really as big of a corporate shill as your post makes it seem, but I could be wrong.

Yeap I think its wrong to put regulations on economic growth, with cannabis or any industry.

Aren't there already many small growers supplying themselves and friends? Most of us included in this group?

Who should be going around asking many small growers to be supplying the masses? Cute idea, but far fetched kido. Hit the books, take some classes.

Marijuana is an industry, a business. And as with every other business, factories to produce the product, and sites to redistribute. They pay large amounts of funds on taxes and paperwork just to try and legitimatize their business.
Why dog on someone's hard work and initiative?

Sounds like another brother lookin for a hand out to me.
Takes a lot of hard work to get where these men and women are, something you may or may not understand.

What leads you to believe there's problems with this growing method? May as well get use to it and stop crying or take some initiative yourself, bitching on the internet is convenient, but son, it ain't getting anything done.

I was always under the impression in my day that any sinsemilla was good weed, no? Why be such a critique on an already good thing?

And once again as far as administrations go, I'm a neutral boy. Never voted, because I've never agreed.

I know for a fact though I don't want the government regulating my business or any other, cannabis, health care, all of it included.

I know I worked hard for my legitimate living and business, no reason anyone else should be prevented from doing the same, even if it is cannabis.

And on a side note, I just use cannabis for myself.

Dabble in growing here and there but have never wanted to do anything large as it would run the possibility of forfeiting my land and all my other assets. Just to risky to me, especially when I've got a family already taken care of.

And no, I don't have the convenience of living in a med state.

Just deal with things in reality, and I don't mind that people grow for themselves in non med states as I have a friend who's stuck with it over the years.
Its just an outrageous idea with the kids around and what not, hard enough to sneak a smoke in as is.

Hahaha, and o yes. He bitches at me like ya'll do also.

He just has never had to really work. So doesn't quite understand business whatsoever, really cracks me up when he tries to explain it to me when all the guy has ever done is sell nugs. Just wrapped up in his only little world of weed as I like to call it.
What can you do but laugh.

I think the pics rocked. I'd like to tour that garden once. I don't give a shit if it's legal, illegal, medical, mids, or if the trimmers are eating whale for fucking lunch. Cool garden.
