yeah good point... the back of my AC will be in my bedroom.. and warm my bedroom up... hmmmm!!

didnt think of that.. but i can turn my window Fan unit to reverse, and suck heat out of my bedroom. myabe that will be good enough?..... if not, i can always move the bunkbed closer to a window.
i would still only be cooling in inside of the bed, and the AC heat will be outside!

yup no problem man.i didnt think about it either.plus it was winter when i rebuilt the rooms way back in the day so i didnt pay it no attention.the fan might work yo but your gonna have to see how the heat is cause even when its not coolin the fan stays on.you'll see.i hope the window works for ya.but you might wanna look for plan B on exhaustin the heat.like if you could put the a/c in the window,and move the bed right up next to the window.then cut out a window in ur mylar and snug it to the ac somehow.im just sayin cause those ac's throw hella heat(broken record i know)

yup. i got 2 options.

1: throw it on the side of the bed for a test run.
see how hot my BEDROOM gets... try with the BEDROOM exaust on.
check temps again.

or
2: move the intire bunkbed to the window (very possible. not a big deal at all) and install the AC in the window like normal.
honestly, the more i think about, i should prolly suck it up and do it right, and do it this way anyway.

also, i should probably do it ASAP. while i only have 11 plants in the bed... all still in veg.

Dammit! moving a bunkbed will NOT be easy! lol..

i got some things to think about!

Lol Jay. Sorry if it looks like I'm laughing at your misfortune, but you made me chuckle. How about just putting the bed on wheels? Seems you're always having to move it - you could pioneer the first ever portable grow bed Def time for another bowl

you could appoxy some sort of square to round ducting thing on to the back. you know what i mean. sheet metal square and round on one side to hook up ducting...dont know the exact name but look in my thread at my attic lid and how my light intake is. 12x5in register to 6 in coupling(ducting). i know the square or rectangular side comes in different sizez as well as the coupling side(ducting side), and there is one that will cover the ac's exhaust grill...2 part appoxy it on(permanant-tape sucks around heat) and you can attach ducting to the coupling and vent into ceiling, wall, window (prefer ceiling) i hope you can visualize what i am trying to describe. it is quite simple. i will get back to you in a few hours with a diagram or a picture of something asap. til then hope that helps! goodluck!

i know i know! ima tard! but really... its a good thing..

my granddad (my hero) always taught me do things ONCE, and do it RIGHT.

this is how i had planned on doing it from day one when the very idea of turning a bunkbed into a grow room began.
put it against this wall, and put a AC in the window.
but i was in a hurry to get up and running, and it was freezing cold outside, so a heater was all i really needed.
it got put in a place in my bedroom where, even with my bedroom door open, nothing can be seen. it looks like a normal bedroom with a work desk (where i work, but underneath is my hiddin veg room lol)
now, where the bed HAS to go, it can easily be seen when my bedroom door opens.
so some bedroom re-aranging will be needed.. hehe

i got alot of work ahead!

Hey NZjay! It sounds like you have it figured out now but moving the bunkbed to the window is the best choice. And duct the cold air to the growroom instead of ducting the hot air away. Get some pics up of the new modifications once you get things in place. peace. :

glad ywouldnti caught it already, i remember last summer i got the bright idea to pull my ac out of the windown (about four feet from the closet) and mount it right outside of my closet, blowing cold air in like a mother. i quickly saw the temps go up in both sides, due to the heat coming off the ac. back in the window unit it went, down the temps went.

i think moving the bed is a great idea, and sammet's suggestion for wheels is spot-on, that way if some crazy shit happens and you have to move again, you are ready.

i think the GF is about to come down so the purps can get in the game. fuck it. haha

ducting the hot air away allows for the thermostat on the ac to actually work correctly instead of running all the time it will read the temps in the bed instead of in the room and is more discreet than a ac humming in the window all day and night, especially where it is cold. the wheels are a great idea. you are gonna do what ever is easiest it seems, but could bite you later. guys around my area get popped for the ac in the windows. cause all houses have ac already. and its hot as hell here. just wanted to throw that out there. best of luckmate and i know yall will come up with somethin that will work perfect. just ponder for a min before you get working. every action has a reaction. like the ac makes cold air and hot air haha but it took a min to see that.

right now, ive got the AC in the bedroom window. i gottta replace the electrical socket (the reason i couldnt/didnt put the bunkbed here to start with) and then ill be up and running with the AC.

Moving the bed, while slighty anoying really isnt that hard of a job.
i take the lights off the top, remove the floor, and all that there is a bunkbed shell with plastic walls.

I got that exact same fan. Yeah I know, that's the best I could come up with to comment about. Terrible right. Yeah well. It's just what I noticed first. ON a more serious note, what kind of yield increases are you looking for from the upgraded light situation of the bunk, or are you just looking for the increased denseness? You got a lumens per sq ft since the upgrade? Ok I can't think of anything else to ask to cover the lameness of the first part of my post.

first up, apoligies to all for taking so long to get back to yahs!
but here i am.. better late than never right?

as you know, ive been busy with redesign and final bunkbed upgrades.
as of this moment, i have the AC in the window, and lightproofed.
it was meant to be today, but life popped up, so tomorrow i will be rearanging the bedroom, and moving the bunkbed.
looking forward to it really, but my girls are looking sassy, and ready for go into flower i think!
looking forward to it.

Serious note?: i would expect double the yeild honestly. bud density is something ive never had to worry bout with Purple Urkle. they are pure rocks. and im quite intersted to see how Khaleels come out under the t5s.

but its hard to be able to judge because last run i had 8 urkles. everything else didnt get counted as my final weight. this run, i only have 5 Purple Urkles. but 3 ECSDs, 2 Soylent greens, and 2 NFUs.. so... yeah...
honestly, with the 5 urkles, i think i might still get more yeild because they have veged for longer, and are alot bushier than the first run.
i needed the first run to get me on my feet for the 2nd.
2nd is here, but the 3rd grow, should be 18 Purple urkles.
thats right. 18. you heard it. i would feel confident i could get over a pound with 1200 watts, and 18 Urkles.

the rest of my strains / keepers i will be growing outside.
i got plans bro... dont forget that.
i mighta looked like a dumbass thinking about attaching a AC straight to the bed like that would work... lol.. but i got shit flowing, even with hick-ups.
