ahm jay ... , generally the shorter plants give you a higher probability of producing more resin as they dedicate more energy in producing flowers and/or resin , than its taller brothers/sisters ... , taller plants are more suited for fiber production

and we dont want to grow fibers :D

and yes , my keeper which was given to Fire666 was a stout plant , expressing a lemony flavor which was quite awesome :yummy:

Noooooooooooooooooooooooo.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7497468.stm

There goes the cricket tomorrow  guess I'll finish off season 4 tomorrow instead.

Sorry I haven't been dropping in here as often as I'd like bro but you know the story and this thread moves fast! How's things going with that def? You thinking of adjusting your mix for your next run? are you sure it's a deficiency or could it be a lockout due to too much meal? checked pH? I know you're almost done and you're looking forward to the next run but it's worth getting to the bottom of it if you can. The NFU looks like nute burn and on some of the urkle, but with that big NFU the excess bone meal might be changing the pH and locking out Nitrogen.

Get this: possible explanation for burn on the NFU which are getting molasses but no burn on the plants that aren't getting molasses...

Molasses acts as a chelating agent, allowing more efficient uptake of nutrient ions by the plant. Your soil mix is designed to be slow release over the life cycle of the plant so you just water and never add nutes.

But, by adding molasses to your water, you're basically turning your slow release nutes into easy to absorb quick release nutrients which are burning your girls. The molasses binds the nutrient ions and then is actively transported into the roots, taking the nutes with it.

With that big one it could be that she managed to withstand the extra nutrients and used them to grow bigger than the others, and now she's out of nutes?

It's pretty late, I'm really baked, and rambling. Hope you get it sorted man, try less meal in your mix, or no molasses. :rasta:

Raist: hey no worrys man! if you do it, make sure ya show me some pics (and credit me! lol) in your thread! you might be able to perfect it somehow... (maybe velcro or tacks at the bottom to hold them tight against the zipper?
i know the wider the better... oh.. you realise the real reason i got this idea was coz those zippers have the tendancy of getting caught of the cut plastic behind it?
At $12 a Zipper i wanted mine to last longer than a grow (which is what they were doing in my hydro-house back in the day! - wasted money in my eyes.

but anyway, when i do the zippers, and make the initial cut, i then trim all the excess pandapoly away from the zipper so i cant get caught, but that allows more light to get in through the white material, and actual Zippers.
Mine are working like they did day 1 nearly in their 3rd round.
so im happy with the plans/idea and the zipper covers work great!
i had pictures of them, but man... thats a long time ago. lol.
let me know if you want pictures of what i mean though, and i will oblige.
Picture requests are my speciality! :D
Peace man..

FJ: heya mate! Excellent news, thanx! im pretty sure i may have one of the short phenos. i got pics so you could shed more light on it im sure.
they look good though :) heres hoping for a lekker vyf, ja?! :D
(er.. you ARE Dutch right - lol. sorry if you are not..)

lemon sounds soo yum to me. i can just imagine smoking a Urkle, and then smoking lemon. man, that right there makes my mouth water!
glad you sticking around! hope to do your strain proud!

Sammet: bingo i reckon mate. i think im just gonna stop the molasses.
im glad i didnt molasses water evertime in case something unexpected come up.
but i think you are right. blaze designed this mix to just need water. not molasses. maybe last 2 weeks or something would be better for them? help them flush at all?... or not at all?
great advice as always though mate.

Baked you say?... so Exams are over? congrats! smoke on! LOL
bummer about thecricket!
Good ol' Sunny England!

Y: yup i gotta agree broski! i think he nailed it. im still soil noob, so i guess i should be glad i got you boys on board working out kinks with me, and its all happening to a half assed round anyway! round 3 just looks better and better as the weeks tick down! (nearly 2 weeks left! oh giggity!)
And i expect color to start playing her part soon. Urkle buds are taking on the purple hue, and tips of her bud leaves. its very pretty.
she truly is a beautiful strain. even in veg. Khaleel is showing that with some beautiful plants.

Dog: haha! felt like a slow week to me. wait till i get a full bed in there, ppl gonna love round 3 as much as im gonna love showing it to ya'll.

Everyone: ok folks!
if you read above, you know Color is on its way!
Purple Urkle is really purpling up, and the suprise of the bunch, so is Soylent Green! lol... its funny, but yup, the purple is taking over, and i duno what we gonna see with the end of this girl yet, but im liking it so far. lol.
she might need longer than the Urkle though, i dunno. she looks like shes still growing! so... if so, that means Shitake will have to wait to be a taste tester for my NFU, coz he might have to wait for some of his Soylent Purple he didnt even know he had! lol.

so heres some Veggin' pics anyway!...

The Outdoor Scrog: ok, my first EVER scrog. and i realis i should have put the plant in the MIDDLE of the screen, and split her in half to spread her along the screen!. lesson learned. but nonetheless, shes looking quite nice out there. and boy oh boy does mother nature rock. all 3 have really taken off.

Also, sometimes i come across things that make me realise im not home.
(no snakes in New Zealand)

i know hes only a garden snake - no threat - but im still not a fan of them. gimmie the heebee jeebees.

then, for FJ - Venomheads.
#1: heres the short one. FIMmed once - seemed to like the abuse and took well to it. 2 shoots on on the way.

#2:
a tall one. again, FIMmed once - also liked it. i like a girl that can take a slap. :spank: :spank: :muahaha:

and #3: another tall one. my early guesses tell me male. but only time will tell me for sure. only just FIMed yesterday. her leaves are doing weird things, but .. whatever. she looks good.

roots are all coming along nicely nicely. (hahah!)
might need new homes next week :)

and more rainy weather brings round 3 back inside for the night.
LSTed and Fimmed like a madman.

Ahh that is more like it

Snakes are quite populated around these parts too dude, only one venomous variety around me though, and that one does not live around populated areas.

Dont ya love the bugs that take little nips at your plants, eating away at the leaves, I get them on my outdoor plants.

Looks great Bro

new pots would be good ... , and hej ... use light proof containers as roots tend to grow away from light ...

Its definately way to early to tell you the phenotype of those youngens ,there are good chances that the tallest one is a male ... , but yeah .. thats no safe bet , so keep it untill you can flower it and see for yourself :smoke:

Hi Nzjay, your gardens are looking great as usual!!! Nice shot of the snake, we've gotquite a few species in my neck of the woods amd only 4 poisenous varietys, Copperheads, Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnakes, Cottonmouths and the very rare Cannan Rattlesnakes. The non-poisenouis Black snakes and Black Racers are fun to catch along the railraod tracks when sunning and tame down rather quickly =P lol

Do remember the homemade Co2 setup I was kicking around? Well I finally decided to start to get it setup!!! I've got the tubeing and support stakes up and the 64th inch holes drilled so all that's left to do is get a 5 gallon batch of Tropical Raisin Jack going! with the Burmese Dream at 34 days into 12/12 I'll be able to get the most vigorius fermentation and Co2 byproduct from the wine directed onto the plant!!! ;)

Heres an update on the Bagseed Bonsai Log grow

   Keeps things interesting Don :joint:

Puppy Dog: heheheh.
i was born in New Zealand - no Snakes, no bears, no poisoness spiders. (NZ trivia for ya: the large spiders used in the movie "Arachnophobia" are infact harmless grass spiders from NZ)
if i wanted to go camping, i could sleep under the stars and not worry bout being eaten or bit my something that could kill me.

then i moved to Australia.... where fucking EVERYTHING can kill ya! lol.
worlds most deadly spiders, snakes, scorpians, lizards, everything. scary place! and thats not even mentioning the Australians!
:D

hahahha! sorry, not dutch! my bad.
i thought Fjallhoga was a dutch word?... damn, i thought i knew how to pronouce your name and everything. hahahahha!

yup. they will get new homes next week sometime.
as for the light proofing, man, i wasted 2 rolls of ductape light proofing all my containers, and then someone told me to use green bottles, and the roots are not effected by light, and you can see your roots grow.
i will admit, i was a skeptic, but now im a believer. i had one in a clear container, and the roots browned up, became dry looking - kinda Burnt.
but these green ones are great. all my containers are now clear green.
i forget who told me this, but im glad they did! it works! :)

oh yeah, im not killing anyone till i see hairs or balls. lol. even if i see balls, maybe ill throw her outside and see if i cant get some Venomhead seed stock. what would seeds from a F2 male be? F3?....

genetics is so complex!
peace man :)

Y: hehe pimpin'.
yeah im training em hardcore. alot of FIMing and lots of LSTing and supercropping. they are bushing real sexy!

C'mon round 3!! :)

Everyone: hehe.. the big one thats nute locked, and N difficient, is now starting to purple up real crazy. so the white/yellow looks crazy with the purple coming in! heeheheh...

friday night is almost here folks :)

Your little outdoor grow looks excellent mate, I think I might stick a Sweet Tooth out in the garden and join in on the outdoor action. Cool snake too man  And in typical fashion, KP hits a tonne against the Saffers (he took a nasty bouncer to the head at 90mph from Steyn - ouch).

What happens friday?

Lookin' stellar, mate!

My well-cured VH's remind me of lemmon and lime sweettarts. Ima gonna drop a few seeds for my next round. I'm hoping to find a keeper grape krush, DSD and pollen chuck, and pare down my dreamgoddess to one mommy. Four mommas and some new VH stock? Fook yeah! :headbange

Your outdoor potpatch is growing nicely as well! Shrubs! Gonna get BIG by the time the daylight dwindles. Cool!

FJ- I guess Swede. That's only because I had a few Swede friends stay at my place for a couple months and then I stayed at their place in Sweden (sverige?) for a few weeks. But I've lost all the little bit of the language I'd learned. :bashhead:

Well I'll be first in line for the Friday update!

peas!
