I'm all caught up now, and it looks like you are, too. Back from a few days camping out in the desert...I'm dessicated and fried, but all is well because I've got my bunk o' funk fix! Looks like the move and "plan B" implementation went well. Now if we could only get ya some nugs...

ok, there seemed to be some interest in my new style ive been cloning. directly into soil.
so i wanted to show pics, and explain how for any newbie cloners out there, but especially for my apprentice for his future reference. so here we go.
i needed to take 2 NFU clones, which will likley be grown outside, so i thought id bring ICmag along for the ride...
SIMPLE CLONING: -Direct into Soil-
you will need:
* Soil - i use my beloved Black Gold. soft, and little chemicals in it to burn your new roots. i love this stuff.
* Cloning gel, or powder. note, that stores like Lowes sell cloning powders that do the exact same job as the ones your hydro store sell, for $10 LESS. simple, also means smart buying
* a clean sharp blade.
* a Shotglass or something small filled with water. i use regular tap water.
* your cups prefilled with your Soil.
* and possibly something to mark your clones. dont wanna get em mixed up in my case, a "sharpie" and some popsicle sticks.
and of course, importantly a nice mother to take your clones from.
find your healthy branch, and cut close to the stem.
you want at least 3 nodes, but i have done 2 node clones with success aswell.. but they do seem to root slower. maybe more stress on little cuts?..
cut the leaves off the lower part of the stem.
cut the end to a 45 degree angle. i do cut steeper though.
my reasoning is the more open surface, the more roots can start.
after doing this a few times though, it really dont see that much of a difference. *shrug*
place your cut right into your water... let it sit in there for a few mins.
now is a good time to get your holes in your cups ready.
next you wanna take your clone out of the water, and gently roll angled-cut stem in the powder. give her a tap to shake excess powder off.
im realy carefull here, coz i dont wanna knock or wipe the powder off. place cutting into the hole, and gather the soil around the stem, until the stem is nice and secure in place.
next step, you wanna give them some water.
i dont think pouring your water is a good idea here, coz ive had some die before, which i put down to me watering too heavy, and washing the powder off the stem. i use my spray bottle, and spray the soil surface 5-6 times.
Label them, and put them under a misted dome. mist the clone tops too.
(10 purple Urkles, and the 2 new NFU clones i just took in the middle)
the first 8 clones i took are now in the 2L bottles. 2 have already started training
also, the green 2l bottles rock. i love being able to watch the roots without hurting them.
it obviously works huh.

but in my veg room, i dont have the perfect control of temps like i do in the bunkbed, and on a few occasions, i would check my rooters, and they would be bone dry.
i think a real plus of cloning into soil is you dont have to keep a perfect eye on them all the time, and the enviroment can be less than perfect.
obviously, the selling point for me was the basic ease of this method, specially for newbie growers - much like the guy im teaching.

Nice to see how everyone else does it. I tend to use the jiffy pucks, and I am just under 100 per cent of success.
I have 12 little ones now, that are being shipped out soon, to a fellow grower(locally) and probably a few more coming down the pipe soon.

i should have tested it again with the 2 NFUs, but oh well.

suprisingly it took 2 days for it to start wilting... and ive since wondered if that would help or hinder the clones. maybe it roots quicker, forcing the roots to start seeking water sooner?...
i think ill be trying that soon.

yup.. urkle in seed form. heheh.. when i first had urkle, i didnt even know it only came in clone form, but was already collecting any viables i came across in my 4 years of growing Urkle.i didnt realise i was collecting diamonds! i just liked the strain so much, i REALLY wanted to take it back home to NZ when i go. (send them that is- not take on plane with me lol)
im sure alot of ppl wished i had a shitload to share around... but my seeded females never got that bad.. from my last Urkle DWC grow, i got 6 viables. i was stoaked for sure!
Yeah, its the easy way, im kinda amazed its not more common around here.
but i read a few good threads on it, and decided it was the EASIER way...

yup, scan the pattern of your prints, and start running matches. of course being a NZ'er the feds might not have your prints on file. unless like dr. dog was looking out for ya, if you had a record or something.

If you want to get really scared, you should actually clean your camera regularly as well as cropping and resizing the original image.
Apparently dust and small hairs etc. are detectable from photos and police can match the "dust print" on your lens to all the photos you've taken. Scary stuff. I always smudge my finger prints in photoshop just to make sure.
