I'm not far at all from the city and have seen alot of the haze, piff, pooray(sp)? in my time. Up untill a year ago thats all I was getting. always different batches but good all the time. Prices ranged from 350-420 an O. smells went from church smelling insence to fragrent soapy smelling type's. Dark greens to a nice bright green (that I favored).

I've heard tons of stories of it beeing grown in the basments of bldgs in the Heights.
It coming up from Florida (but my bro who lives there can never find any, all he gets is lows and something they call crypps or kryp(sp)?

Now the most recent story i've heard from an old friend I recently connected with again was that it's coming in from Boston. Batches of it weeks at a time.

But who knows, thats my two cents.

lol F.daddy, i'm telling ya, it's what i'm smoking. just with last nights sampler. i mean listening to music with all the distortion and echos, repetative beat or rythem standing out all of a sudden much louder then another sound, etc. like you hear a train horn way off in the distance, but there ain't no train anywhere. lots of auditory hallucinations. visual awake strobe light effect room filled with smoke like appearance. and then you kind of just blink out of it. into dreamland. dreaming away and then 2 minutes later the music starts playing again, or you just become aware of it, and you jump up and switch positions to just take that reality check.
but the music was playing the whole time, lol.

still feeling numb, floaty, but ok, and then another wave comes back at you, and your dreaming again. comes in waves, and builds to this point over time (creeper).

this is only one to two hits 1 hitters, i have a low tolerance to it, for sure. but this is probably require a bowls worth for the heavy hitters to feel that at least. im guessing here, maybe nobody has a tolerance to this one.

other commercial i've smoked thats looked much danker touches on this feeling lightly, but not strong enough to punch through to that dream zone for long a enough duration, or just fades away and doesn't allow you to go there. never quite makes it. but they've all been similar, you could see how with a larger dose it may make it, but i don't want to pound blunts all day for what i like. i always wind up going back to this one for what i need.

On a side note, i am from Bed-Stuy...and used to get delivery there all the time before i moved. So there definately are delivery services (many from Manhattan n even a few in Brooklyn) in the Stuy.

Im glad you guys have stuck around. Got into abit of an emergency the last week of february and had to cut my mom. I have about 60+ seeds f1's. Philly, Frank and a couple others should shoot me a PM. Id like to see the results. For the Record, Piff is an actual NY Strain. Just Like Every other state have strains specific to them. I received the seeds from an OG grow connect in the BX. He grew about a lb of Piff seeded(19 p's werent seeded) so i took the mature ones. Genetics are the real deal, hes been growing since the 80's. Honestly the best bud i ever smoked. I plan on starting some more in about a month.

Currently I have 5 Church's(fem),5 sweet purple,5 Hashberry, 2 Chocolate Thai(Brooklyn Choc, Cooper Projects stand up) Pics soon...

f.daddy. unfortunately i have no seeds, just the mom i found. actually, that isn't true, i have maybe 10 or so seeds left of all i've ever collected from uptown bags in my life. i may have tried to get germination on some of them. some of the seeds are dark black in color, some are very light greenish, none have stripes or anything like i've seen online. the seeds are verrry old, the youngest is probably at least 3-4 years old. the oldest can go back into the late 80s. since then never seen any seeds in the piffy bags. some of them didn't germinate the first go, but i put them back into storage, because sometimes freeze thaw a second time and they will germinate (no joke, some didn't work the 1st time paper towel method, but 2nd try, they sprouted weeks later) i think i had a total of my intial trial 3 plants when i wanted to give it a go. which i had to kill at 5 inches tall because i couldn't control the odor, lol. dead skunk farm, will never know how those turned out ;(

then 3 more a while later, one had all crinkly leaves. deformed leaves and looked sickly, so i killed that. and 2 others became the racy one and the weak bunky one. didn't keep moms. i tried to keep one of the racy one, but the cutting died,

2 more germinated the next go. one was a hermie, both flowers and balls at the same time from the beginning of flowering and it had NO odor at all, only that menthol/vicks smell on a stem rub, but no active odor whatsoever, just planty, salad smell. and then this current one, which has been alive for a long time now, and reeks 24/7 being more pungent at certain times of the day.

this mom has been as close a representation as to what i've been getting from uptown in high and odor so i'm not going to sprout any more of the seeds unless an emergency occurs, and she has to go the way of the toilet.

the ONLY other possibility is from a bag i got wayy back from where all the rastas live in nyc, not sure of the exact area, but theres a dark stone wall that is next to the river, and the apartments are on the left side of that. i didn't drive. and i don't remember much of the trip, lol. but these are the rastas that open the door and have a whole hefty bag garbages full of buds, and in the summer reggae music is blasting out of the windows when you walk the streets. that is the only other bag i remember that had seeds in it that was worth saving, i didn't save everything. and it looked more like 1985 weed. dark green, stems all twisted up, skunky smell, etc. but this final dried bud doesn't look like it at all, so i don't know. the high on that was very euphoric, kick back on the beach in a lounge chair and just dream away feeling also. i only saved seeds of weed that felt good to me. just a great feeling no matter where you were - your mind is chilling on the beach with the sun on your face.

only one other good plant came out of these seeds, with much tighter wrap around the cola buds, and a much faster bloom, and one other was bunk with a mild buzz and short lasting high (yeah, even i could smoke a whole J of it, and had a nice ok buzz, but almost completely vanished in an hour and a half, this one smelled skunky only, it may have been the rasta seed, similar smell. it had lumpy calyx buds - maybe it need more light who knows). the other good one smelled way more of grapefruits and menthol, a little more sativa looking and less skunky then my current one, but winds up looking similar in end dried bud. it had a much more racy paranoid high, and made me piss like a race horse 45 minutes in like as if i was 15 years old and downed 5 beers. lol. but it made you drink alot of water during the high, dry mouth. the high is similar on this current one in higher doses, but the duration can't be matched, the branching, growth pattern, etc, just stood out to me as special, and she was kept. this mom lasts a very lonnng lingering time, and never quite lets you go feeling clear at all after your first session. i will hang on to it for as long as i can. her only problem is even in veg, at 5-6 inches tall, she stinks up a storm, especially if a fan is pushing air around her. without a scrubber or ozone running will fill up a basement in a few hours, just 1 plant. it's not super over powering strong smell, but it's an odor you'd notice maybe musty? musky? and nose tingling with a little but of dead skunk smell. and you'd be like where's the ganja at first wiff.

I was told it was NL5 X Haze. The best stuff usually had a yellow tint to it and we called it Yellow Haze. This is before it hit uptown in the early 90's. Your first run with her?

sounds similar to what we call "y-o" haze i always assumed that just meant it was a yonkers variety though

FLEXO - Krippie is the FL equivilant of Piff. It is a word they use to describe thier high end MJ. It is typically fruity smelling and not dried properly. The haze that you find all over NYC comes from all over. Some is grown in NY, some upstate. Most DOES come from FL, GA, SC...

Out in S.I. everyone calls any good bud "piff". We get good haze here and there but there was 1 dude I used to hit up just for haze since thats all he sold and he was known as the haze man lol. We all called it that raw haze. The buds were dark and hints of brownish and also a lil under dry the bus were sticky moist, reeked of sum serious inscense smell. Everyone who smoked this haze sneezed throughout the whole blunt and the high felt like it lasted forever. My haze connect fell off tho he never has that "raw haze" just sum regular bud with hints of haze is all he been selling now.

ok, i guess the pics are back!

here we go. i hope it's not a dissapointment for those that were waiting to see them, as they aren't really flashy bling bling buds. yeah, it doesn't look like many of the super dank killer buds, but let me tell ya, just going to have to trust me, it packs a wollop on those who partake.

this is what's going into the jar for the cure to be enjoyed over the summer.

i still have a few mini buds i put into a short term jar to sample and smoke for the time being (plus last years harvest in another jar, lol) but this goes for the long term.

this is about 8 days hanging and then cut into individual buds. its now sleeping in the jar for about 23.5 hours every night, w/a 30 or so minute burp each day, which will be ending soon ....for the long cure. the jar reeks when its opened, fills the room with the strangest of scents.

the buds get a little darker/redder with a touch of yellow w/cure, the pistils pull in tighter, most are brown in the jar now. the smell is of rotten tropical fruit w/notes of skunkyness and when a bud is when broken open, a blast of a very nose tingling soury rotten plasticy like, grapefruity/pineapply odor tickles/stings the nostrils (hints of menthol, lemon cleaner, etc) no pine tree odor at all, or a serious skunky odor, just slight undertones of the skunk remain. if the smell of it was a sound it would be a pretty high pitched one i'd say, lol

the inside of the buds are very moist and juicy, makes your fingers sticky, but not too sticky. only 1 or two big stems inside the bud, and thats it, it's as easy as stripping the calyx's off the stem, and what's left mostly just breaks up to smokeable material.

and even now, with 8 days dry, burns to pure white ash, and taps right out of my hitter. i hardly clean the hitter when i'm smoking this stuff. w/commercial gotta pipe clean it every few days cause of gooey black crap that builds up in there and clogs it.

it's very similar looking to the original haze images i guess, but i know it must have been crossed with an indica which is due to the super huge/fat fan leaves in veg. probably did it to speed up the flowering. pretty much most of the indica vanishes during flower.

from seed she went over 100 days to finish, didn't even make any visible trichomes till close to the end. but from clone it's about
70-80 days, trichs at day 35+ with smokable buds that will give you the same effect at 55 days, but the trade off it not much yield. yeah even less then this at 80, lol! also keep in mind, it's low light fluro w/hardly no additional nutrients.

Those buds look exactly like some Haze I grew under floros last year.

My community keeps a clone of it. Its so strong I rarely smoke it!

I love showing the bud to someone who's used to seeing todays elite cuts--they scoff at it....then when they hit it, lights out....or more appropriately lights ON, all the way on!

And then I run into a dreaded-out dude every once in awhile who goes nuts when he sees it--obviously a well-educated haze-head!

Florida Krippy nowadays is a Haze Variant being either excellent or swaggy, just like anywhere everyone is pushing the Krippy name whether it be regs/mids/KB/White Widow or the actual real thing, of course it is not easy to get your hands on just like true Piff is hard to get your hands on in NYC. The Krippy of legend was heavy in Miami circa 1997-2003 and is super NL #5 heirloom strain, this strain is only held by a select few nowadays. The NL 5 Krippy is what gave Kryppy the name because it was like Kryptonite to any and all.

The Haze from NYC may come from all over but it does not come from either SC or GA.

bigherb- tnx i know they don't look super bling, but i've never given anyone any bs since i've been here, it's grown from an uptown bagseed from years and years ago. it's all i've ever gotten/smoked over the years. hardly any had seeds, and if it was crappy short high and had seeds, seeds were not saved. this one smells like and smokes like the shit i've gotten from my spanish homie who buys uptown $20 /dime bag, and you only get like enough to make a pinner joint or two from it. that shit just doesnt look as fluffy, because sometimes its squished down, but thats what it looks like in its natural form. poofy with red tones and amber tones. as it cures it gets more and more amber looking. you only need a little tiny piece of that bud to feel it, lol. one bowl i'm sure of it, even for the heavy hitters would be enough for a ride.

if i smoke 2 one hitters, i get nausia, dizzy.almost like spinning drunken feeling + freezing chillz all the hairs on my arm stand up, with some trembles/shakes like its cold outside, even though the heats on! just some nervous jumpiness, until you reach the peak and it backs down a little so you can enjoy the dreamy buzz. it's potent, man. others who've smoked it have said it too. that's why i only do it a hit at a time.

this is a clone grow though, the mom is heading towards 2 years old. i've given out few clumps of gift in the past, so it may be possible it was this you smoked, lol. stranger things have happened, the people i woulda gifted too are in this uptown scene. so friend of a friend of a friend of a friend, you know how it goes, try this homegrown. lol.

Good lord--That is exactly the description I would use...especially the eerily creeper quality, where you think you might be at the top, and then you've still got another 200 stories to rise before the lift-off ends.

I had never hallucinated on weed until the Haze man!

Its true connoisseur smoke--wispy buds, long flowering periods, but TOP NOTCH buddha!! Nothing else smells or tastes quite like it.

I have some curing right now that smells like sweet carrots and incense!

yeah, the creeper, taste, and smell thing is totally how i know it's her i'm smoking. i'd be able to pick it out from 10 strains, maybe 20 strains. it's what causes people to over do it and be really beyond the point of come back for a while. i'm not the only one whos grown her out, btw. another harvest of many is coming up soon.

bling bling sparkly elite looking buds i've smoked, i'm talking those rock hard pine tree skunk smelling sugary trich covered ones, that taste like a pine green air freshner (hanging from your car mirror) and skunk on inhale. hits me right away on the exhale, pretty much in 1-3 minute after exhale i'm at the peak, great buzz while it lasts! has that out of it dreamy feel and sometimes blinkies too. but most of the time for me though, 45m-1 hour later (after a packed 1 hitter worth of the bling) and my head just clears up and its gone, like a let down. as if i've never smoked, clear head. and after a week with a strain like that, hitting it daily, you know the deal. i need 2 hitters, 3 hitters full, per go. lol. before you know it whole joints, and i'm the pot jedi, look at me! although from time to time, i've gotten pretty strong ones that gives me a super pleasurable stone, even though the buds look similar, each batch is different! never seems to happen with this one. if you don't abuse all the time tolerance is hard to build to it. i'm assuming the ones who have those elites have the special phenos of the genus that are great. and i'm sure switching strains or changing them up from time to time you can get that strong buzz back again. i've had a different connection for a while who only gets that type of piney tight bud, sometimes has light purple accents to it (that type is better. deeply stoney, like burning hot face w/a really stupying feeling going on inside, more stupifying then inspiring, or insightful though). no uptown. haven't gotten uptown in a long time, because i'm satisfied with this one i found.

the creeper effect, though, if you've never felt it, is very unique, and you'd know if you've had it before. after a 1 hitter of her (2 good pulls, maybe 3 to tap it out) you still feel kinda clear, but you know you got a smile on because you know what's coming. it slowly rises from there, 2-3 minutes.. you start to feel different mood coming on, happier, stress goes out the window. you know something is going on. pretty soon you aren't going to be able to conceal that smile from people around you! (you know, i don't really like smoking with others, because then i have to think too much and talk, i smoke alone. so i don't have this problem, rather just dream by myself, lol) 5-7 mins yeah, i feel it, euphoric rush, from center of your chest, trying to break out and scream. super smile now. deeper breaths, slow down your breathing. maybe your face flushes, or your ears feel hot. 10 min in da room starts getting a little different color to it. hazing over, smoke filled appearance. it's a 1970s movie! a daylight strobe effect starts (not too fast of a blinking around the outer edge of your vision, the faster the blinking the more paranoid the buzz is gonna be for me, not her though, hardly any paranoia. it's a slower blink, but do too much and you get the paranoid) body tingles come on. by 15 minutes your sitting down somewhere just in dreamland, mouth open, some drool lol, slowy moving your head if your trying to track moving objects. music sounds great, lots of depth. pleasure all over your body, super relaxation. thoughts crossing your mind, old memories you haven't thought about for 20 years come to the front. weird sensations. then you know what.. i don't know where you go, but it feels really damn good in that place, for a pretty long time! on top of the world, man. it's hard to have conversation because your mind is all over the place, and it really crushes your short term memory during the buzz, really get those stoner moments, forgetting what you just said etc. wtf did i just come into this room for, or having an odd flow of thought and feeling uncomfortable about what you said, because you can't remember if you said it or not. most of the time you think of stuff, and you go right that's it! i figured it out, now i understand. pondering the way people act, or interact with each other. remembering people you grew up with. things like that. and then when you come down you forget it. just like a dream, lol. it's weird that short term is effected, but 20 year+ long term comes forward.

but that dreaming feeling! like the feeling right before you wake up in the morning and you're having those scatter brain dreams, but your eyes are open, but you can see the dream movie going on in your third eye. you feel weightless just like you can float all over the room. i dunno, all i can say is haze

too much at once, overdone in the beginning and you get a little disoriented, almost drunken pre-spins. the high comes at you in waves, sometimes it backs down and you think ok it's over, but then your right where you were again 10 minutes ago, the smile comes back, it's not over! this goes on for 1.5-2 hours. with a nice smooth slow come down, no crash, and just one packed hitter for me.

most people who are used to the other types would probably do 2-3 hitters before they said holy shit i'm f*cked up, because they don't feel that instant smack down. but then it's too late, just have to ride out a possibly uncomfortable rise.

feedback from some were just, "cloud walking", "it's so potent" "out of body like sensations", "this is homegrow?!" and their habits may not be as big as some here, but most of them are at the $200 every 2 weeks give or take of that nice looking commercial. few of them who sampled probably never had the uptown haze before. different circles.

but that's the high i love, and only type of seed i would save from.

i've done some searching, the only other strain that anyone talked about with a serious creeper effect like that is "White Rhino" anyone like its buzz?

i've been thinking about maybe white rhino, or SSH to try from the descriptions i've read about them. i'm really satisfied with this pheno i have, but you know, i'm curious what the difference is. grass is always greener.

Haha yeah, I'm still learning to appreciate the less sugar coated but yet super potent buds. I am picky about bag appeal but haze seems so strong I'll make an exception for just it lol. I'll take pics of my haze plants once they start getting biggah!

the more I read about haze it makes me believe that's what I had on the night I thought I was going to die. I still was a newb at smoking and really never got that high but from what I remember it was so sour and tasted almost like cleaning products and lemony :-/. I got so fuckin high seriously, I promised never to touch weed again that night lol. I hope I find the same high in these beans I got now.
