Nutrients in the Fridge (Extend Shelf Life?)

I live in a 3-room house and have only one large A/C unit in the main living room. Because there's no central A/C the other two back rooms get somewhat warm in the summer. One of these rooms is where I store my grow stuff, including nutrients. Some of the stuff I use, like SensiZym by Advanced Nutrients, has a short shelf life anyway. I'm sure heat takes a toll on all nutrients.

Can I store certain nutrients in my refridgerator to extend their shelf life and preserve their potency?

Cool

Cool

I'm glad to hear that. Should I let them set out and get back to room temperature before mixing them together with water, just before I feed?

Also, I suppose we need to be aware of security issues. If some "outsiders" come over, you don't want to tell them to grab a beer from the fridge! "Yo, Greenskies, what the fuck is this Big Bloom and Dark Energy and Awesome Blossoms?" :bashhead:

No worries about getting them to room temp in my opinion, just add them to your water and it will cool the water allowing for more DO!

I e-mailed AN and asked about storing their nutrients in the fridge. This is what they said:

-In these hot summer months, there is nothing wrong at all with storing
nutrients in your fridge.Just be sure your fridge isnt like mine and
occasionally decides out of the blue to freeze everything.
No worrys with the benificials, bacteria and microbes can withstand
temperature extremes in both directions that would kill most other
life forms. And the mychorizall fungi are in spore form. The liquid
"carrier" in Voodoo can go off with too much heat,so it is fine in the
fridge.

-You do NOT want these cold nute Bottles brought up to temperature
everytime you use them.Cold is fine...warm is fine, but shifting
between the two causes condensation in the bottles and this can lead
to contamination.

-Pour what you need from your bottles and get them back in the fridge
ASAP.You can let the poured nutrint sit out to warm,no issue.

On a side note, I am about to start an organized effort to notify nutrient manufacturers that WE WANT a "born on" and expiration date on each bottle of nutrients. Advanced Nutrients. Fox Farm. American Hydroponics. Botanicare. We deserve to know how old the nutrients are and when they will go bad. Tell these guys that we are posting the outcome of this effort on the Internet, for all to see. And whichever manufacturer labels and dates their products, will be the one who gets our business. It's all about money, homie. Let them know we spend major $$$ on their products and this is the way we want it. No expiration date = no more sales.

I agree with that. You know they just love the fact they aren't required by law to label dates on their nutes AND even certain ingredients so if just ONE company would take the initative and label everything on the bottle I'm sure they could EASILY grab millions away from their competitors.
Seems like a no brainer to me!
