Nutrients for switching over to flowering

you need to up your P+K going into bloom for reason,
actually I start adding extra PK with calcium the week before bloom
but maintain veg nutes

even tho you can't see anything happening doesn't mean it isn't.
the plant is switching gears internally,
big things are taking place in anticipation of buds within the plant

the P+K will be needed to give you your best budset possible.

it's like getting pregnant,
the belly isn't showing but big things are going,
would you wait and start eating the best things and taking the proper vitamins and supplements until you see evidence of pregnacy?? or start the best prenatal care as soon as you know your seed is growing :start:

I'm of the belief a healthy plant is best for producing nice buds.
that said you still need N in bloom, at least until the last few weeks.
the 6/9 method using GH flora micro and bloom is nice feed regime because you can drop the N when ever you feel its time.
and really you don't have to drop 100% of the N if you don't want to, it's your choice,
look at organic growers great nugs and N is there in bloom

btw, going in bloom I like to start giving an enhanced shots of PK weekly.
of course ymmv :joint:

I build my flowering pots with what I refer to as buried treasures.
Sort of like zones deep on the bottoms.
I'll put things like bulb food 3-8-8
Organicare bloom 1-5-6
Fruit and flower 5-8-4
When the grow is over and I inspect the root ball. I'll find no traces of these buried treasures.
I like the idea of zones or layers or buried treasures because it gives the roots a choice.
They can uptake it at their will.
I opine that the plant sends out roots to take inventory of what is available for uptake over a globalize mix where the roots are in it and have no choices.
I opine that the plants are in charge.
I am just setting the table.
I find that I can get my plants to fade a little at the end by not using as much stuff in these buried treasures like instead of a TBLSP I'll use a tsp.
Lately I have been doing really good in my base mix not as heavy in amendments and doing top dressing every 10-14 days.
By a lighter mix and feeding with top dressing I have much more control of my plants.
I can keep them green all the way if I choose but I prefer to see senescent set in with a week or two to go.
Learning as I go !!!

I've never had a problem with yellowing early. I used to give pbp grow until stretch was over. Now that I have been switching a lot earlier, they start to form flowers before stretch is even over. Been growing some strains for 8 yrs. they do better when pk is introduced early in 12/12. Been growing for 15 years, tried about everything you can try. In my tent, that's what works better. What works better in other environments might not work the same in yours.

And I have a perpetual grow, in a 4x4 tent, 1000w hortilux, 5 plants in tent, and pulling 5 oz per plant. All different strains...white widow, grape God, Apollo 11, ice, and bubblicious

I've used heads coco mix (there is a long thread here on ic) for a couple years now With really consistent results ... With pbp its 5 ml veg 15 ml bloom per gallon. I run this way from clone thru week 6 n then drop the veg... But this is in coco.. No firsthand on other things like peat, soil, rock wool etc..

Laboratory testing on thousands of tissue samples of plants has led some scientist to believe that failing to provide the proper amount and proper types of potassium and phosphorus early in bloom cycle creates a permanent deficit that lowers harvest potential no matter what you do later on.

This. .... Good Man! that is the secret, along with ph, to getting that density. or else you can have beautiful colorful foxtails.

Yes you can mix them together, just be sure not to mix them directly together. Add the grow to the water, mix, then add the bloom. No issues there, that's how FloraDuo A+B works from GH for example. I just switched to the Botanicare and it seems to be kind of a copy of the FloraDuo with the whole ratios, so for the transistion I use 1 part Grow and 2 parts Bloom and the plants are LOVING it.
