Struck me as odd, not that I'm calling you a liar but the story and your other posts don't make sense.
You said your son was fresh out of basic training on Nov 20, but he was sent to Iraq and was home and buried in a few weeks time? When you enlist in the Armed Forces, you must go to school after basic traiing to learn whatever skill or job you are going to do in the military. No one goes to war after basic training without school.

Not getting any info other than a Sargeant calling wouldn't happen. One of the Doctors at the hospiotal would have called you when he was there and then if he passed you would have gotten a visit. They always pay for the funeral, he died in combat.

So it just seems odd, the whole story does. Then add in all your other posts asking for weed and it looks funny. If it is all cool, then I also apologize for my apparent paranoia.

First of all Im not putting my name all over the internet boards and my son went through his training he didnt go directly out there your cant go from cadet to cpl I've been doing some reading on military terms, Like I said they called me but never really informed me and I had to go to the city to meet with them, what on gods earth have I done to you guys? yes I have asked for peopel to try and help me but only because I considered you all as family,im sorry for the confusion so from now on i'll keep to myself and just do my learning.

also I checked 3 different lists with another admin and found no mention of anyone
even close to the rank being killed, even searching by state

We dont mean to rag on you but you have to appreciate we are very security conscious here and have access to a lot of info which does not back your story. I'm sure the mods here thought long and hard in such an emotive thread before saying anything.

If you worried about putting your name out dont be, you just gave the name of your son, his passing date and his rank. How difficult would it be to find his personnel record and check it? Not very, i know. If your story is true then your welcome to validate it but if you are in any way lying to us know this, we take a very dim view of people who use the recently passed to further their own personal gains. You are skating on very thin ice with this one and i only hope you are telling the truth.

Do you have an explaination why a new recruit would not show on that list? He is obviously just a regular GI and so would not be shielded from the list. The rest of your story is irrelevant until you can show that he is on there. Bear in mind this is a US military list updated daily, it's not out of date or in any way inaccurate.

Having grown up during Vietnam era, and watching the many return home in boxes, nothing is sadder and totally heart ripping than to see a grieving mother weeping helplessly over her lost son.

That's the point....grieving mother...what mother would be here on ICM posting the things you have posted? Looking for weed, making it obvious through pm's which have been forwarded to Admin clearly with you BEGGING for hook-ups, and perhaps other pharmaceuticals mentioned in other posts...playing on the sympathy of a caring community?

You were the one to post names (without last name) but you included rank and you also posted that you are in NY and the other family in NJ, there are no names on the DoD list for NY or NJ bearing those first names and rank, as a matter of fact, there are no names on that list bearing the first name and rank you posted in ANY state during the time frame you posted this happened.

IF you had lost your son in these most horrible circumstances, you would be worthy of sympathy...but Admin on ICM are not fools, and playing the 'sympathy card' to gain favor here is just plain WRONG and TWISTED and SICK. Perhaps that's the answer? You must be sick in the head to USE such excuses to find friends here willing to do who knows what for you via PM?

You post you buried your son, then the next day post 'Hey, nice buds'.....I know of NO grieving mother who could possibly bring herself to post such things after learning her son was killed...well, unless you are an uncaring TWAT who didn't give a flying frig.

They only pay 1/2 burial expenses? Nice try at fleecing the members. Perhaps you are unaware that soldiers killed in combat have fully paid burials....along with:

Servicemembers on active duty, active duty for training or inactive duty for training and members of the Reserves are automatically covered for $400,000, the maximum amount of coverage, unless they opt out in writing. Don't even try to say he 'opted out'....I just asked that question to a career military person (now retired) (why would someone opt out?) here's their reply: they wouldnt....especially in war.....no commander would let them......when i was in if you wanted to opt out (save $14 a month) you had to go SEE the general and explain to him why

Also, you tried to make your story even more believable by providing a member with your son's name via PM (who in turn forwarded that pm to Admin)....problem with that is this....you said he was a marine, yet the name you provided belongs to a member of the Army...not Marine Corps...further....the name you sent another member belongs to someone who was blown up by a grenade, yet you posted:

There's a difference between giving someone the benefit of the doubt and offering empathy or sympathy, and leaving one's self at risk.

I offered as much or more support as anyone, but also very early on noted that TMo3 was frequently asking for a hook-up.

No JJ, I don't think that any thoughtful beings perceive you as a 'snitch.' I hope that I never personally come to a place where I cannot offer empathy. Regardless of the other's intentions.

Lastly, thank you to DG and OP for doing the leg-work on this issue. It's good to have brothers and sisters who go the extra mile(s).

As far as the funeral, he died in combat. You shouldnt have to pay for a thing. Uncle sam will foot the bill on that one.

I posted this a few pages back and something seemed suspect when the person said they only paid for half. Thats not how it works. This thread disgusts me! People are dying over there and alot of us had close friends over there that are no longer with us. Its not a joking matter at all. If the thread starter was a narc and trying to find peopel in the area out of sympathy i hope they rot in hell. A fucked up way to srew people over. A horrible lie. I'd like to thank the members that alerted us to this and helped unmask the fraudster
we take members security very seriously and as soon as I realised the problem I did some checking
sadly this time I found someone trying to fleece good members here and acted to stop it
hopefully before any harm was caused, I hope everyone learns from this episode

Also... This is sorta off topic, but you guys act like the DoD list is an accurate account of our soldiers killed. Its is no-where near it, its an accounting game to them If they commit sucide its not consider a "casualty" and is not listed on that DoD casualty list, nor is dieing in the hospital from wounds you sustain on the battlefield.
