Not sure if I should worry about this

This girl is about 4 months old and seems very healthy aside from this. all this is taking place in the middle on one side only. There are some small dead leaves at the very bottom, but I'm betting those are just from not getting light. This is an OG Kush. This spot where the problems are is right where my blueberry is. could it be a problem with crowding or competing for light? I know the tips of the fan leaves are burnt, but they've always been that way and hasn't caused a prob for her.

oops, should have clarified that last statement. there are some burnt tips on some fan leaves outside of this area and those I am not worried about. it's this part in the picture that i am worried about.

these are 2 pics i saved from OG that should help:

saved this as 'P def in flower'. looks very similar to your problem (burnt, curled, yellowing tips). i dont know how accurate this picture is - but go ahead an give a light phosphorus feeding and see how it reacts.

saved this as 'Mg def'(by MyNameStich). looks like you definitely have this on your plant. you can fix this easily with 1 tsp of espom salt added to a gallon of water.

you may also be having some pH problems. could you post your watering/soil/runoff pH..?

This isnot normal it looks like rootbound or some other stress ie cold/heat/rootbound ect look @ MyNameStich sick plants post and figure this out this will hurt flowers later

octodiem, I am betting you are right, she is definantly old enough and big enough to have filled up her pot. That makes perfect sense, thanks, looks like I'm gonna have to find a new bigger pot for her

What are you feeding the plant exactly and how much? How long ago since you repotted? What is your soil mix and what is in it? Your lime could be running out if its been a while. You might need cal mag in your fert water. Ph of runoff? Directions for testing are in my signature below. Add more information to get a better answer.

She's 3 foot tall, and atleast 2 foot wide. Her pot is 1 foot in diamiter and 11 inches tall, it's probly a 3 gal pot but I'm not sure on the math. see the pic for an idea of her size. it was taken a week or 2 ago and you can see how it's only really in one area on one side, and it shows more of how it started.

she get's miricle grow food with her water, I think it's 1/4 tsp per gallon with superthrive mixed in. I've given her epsom salt water from time to time to keep her mag level's up. She was potted before I started mixing things into the soil that I pot with, so originly it was mircle grow brand potting soil, then when she went to the new pot super soil brand soil was put in to fill up the rest of the pot. I don't know the ph of the run off off hand, I can test it later on.

I've tried a lot of shit with my OG Kushes, and I am of the opinion that this is a finicky plant that is really hard to keep happy. "High Maintenance" you could say.

Your missing calcium. 15-30-15 miracle grow contains n p k plus micros. No magnesium, sulfur, or calcium. You should use about 3/4 teaspoon per gallon of water to give you about 140 ppm nitrogen. This would be good for growth. In flower, you should reduce this to 100 ppm nitrogen by using only 1/2 teaspoon per gallon of water. It is good to add calcium and magnesium even with dolomite lime in the soil every third fert or so along with the regular ferts. 1/4 teaspoon of both epsom salts and powder gypsum per gallon of water can provide this. When you have not repotted in along time, lime starts to run out. You may need to add cal mag in the water even more frequently. It can be added everytime if needed.

In flower and veg, it might be wise to use potassium nitrate a couple of times instead of miracle grow. Maybe switch out every fourth or fifth time you fert. This will boost your potassium level the mg does not really provide enough of. 1/2 teaspoon per gallon of water 13-0-44. Potassium nitrate is the ingredient in alot of stump removers at hardware stores. Check the label for the active ingredient. Dexol, Greenlight, hi yield, and grants are brands to look for. Cal mag can be added to the potassium nitrate if needed.

http://www.valuegardens.com/images/labels/d0524_label.pdf :YaRight: pure potassium nitrate

Just for your information, miracle grow is pure urea and ammonia nitrogen and no nitrate nitrogen. This is bad. You can get a toxicity of ammonia. It may resemble calcium deficiency because it interfers with its function. Use 60% or more of the nitrogen in the nitrate form to be safe and avoid this. Also mg is potassium chloride. This adds quite a bit of chlorine and is not desirable. This has a high salt index which means on a relative scale with other potassium ferts its very salty. This can burn plants.

Be sure to adjust your fert water after mixing to about 6 ph for best results. How to make your own ph up and down are in my signature.

I have to disagree, my OG kush has been the easiest plant out of all of them. This is actually the first incling of a problem and it's probly just root bound. At first I had a hard time cloning her, but itwas just becuase I was taking the clones out of the dome too soon. Now she clones easy, and aside from this, never causes a fuss...now if you want a finicky plant get yourself a blueberry
