Going to be doing more testing on this cross.... still need to go through a lot more seeds to find the plants i want for the F2s but here we are now. this is the first test with 3 seeds planted and all 3 came up in 3 days.. 2 females 1 male. the male is showing sensitivity to newts and a few other things i dont like seeing in them... even number of blade leaves on some leaves .. and so on. So he might not be making any babies this time around... gonig to plant the remaining seeds and look for a male(s) and females to make my F2s. Then go on to picking the pheno i really want to lock down. Seeds were started in DWC using my hydroton x perlite layering method. no rockwool or grow plugs.

So far this is what we got with Pheno 1 and 2.

Pheno#1 -

leaves are darker in color... smaller indica type.. not to wide and round as Pheno#2... so far 9 bladed leaves... #1 has a very distinct sweet fruity smell when rubbed on stems.. very bushy.. no they havent been topped.. they are naturally bushy the branches are starting to surpass the main top. Strong thick stock/stems.. nothing will be falling over thats for sure! Compact growth but not as many nodes as i was expecting figured they would be more of them butt smaller.. instead we got a few nodes but are huge branches coming off.

Pheno#2 -
Very wide roundish indica leaves, picked off some old fan leaves with 7 blades that were larger than a dinner plate... not sure if thats a good thing... kind of a pain to deal with when you are trying to maximize space in the flowering room... Pheno#1 is much more leave size manageable... 11 bladed leaves for 3 nodes now...#2 hasnt been topped either... they are very compact growers.. the stock on it is almost over 1" thick while the plant is only 19" tall. She has a very musky dank smell when rubbed.

I quite like the upright growth reminds meof some of my OGs how they grow so upright.

That yetis kinda wide but the cherry og is narrow and upright and honestly i love that. Those types of plants allow me to run my high number SOG coco grows i enjoy so much now.

Lol i really enjoyed growing sativas all the time but the miserable back pain has me interested in these. Ive always loved northern lights let me know how those smoke i have dr atomics thai lights i keep putting off i should pop the new version is f2 and will probably have lots of phenos but the kimbos i have coming will get priority.

Haha cant wait to make more kimbos even in dirt they are beefy and branchy i bet in your dwc they would be nuts.

Yeah man nice work i like those alot...

^ nice one's ! I did a cross of pre 2000 Godbud x LUI way back in the day and they turned out amazingly awesome...LUI is kinda bland on it's own but a great breeding tool, imo ;)

G`day SGS

Would it be possible to see a comparison of the roots between male and females ?

I have noticed males usually have smaller root systems at the same stage as their sisters .
Making them more sensitive to nutes .

Thanks for sharin

EB .

In coco the males always have bigger root systems... they drink faster too typically they suck their pots dry way sooner than the girls.

My experie experience anyway i wonder if its system dependant...

Hey man thanks for stopping by!

ya the structure is very up vertical keeping them more compact just by keeping close to the main stem.. im sure they will angle out more during flowering.. clone are being taking from the smaller branches in the middle of the plant.. don't really want to kill off those big side branches that are doing so well. I want to see how they produce and what the real structure of this plant will be.

I have looked at the Kimbo Kush,,, looks yummy, im sure she would be happy in my DWC:biggrin:

Thanks for the heads up on her breeding tendencies.. the G13 x LUI around seems to hold up on your statement. Im hoping this cross holds to it too. so far so good.

I just looked at the roots they are about the same. Actually Pheno#1's root ball is smaller than the male. The male started showing signs of newt stress about 2 weeks ago ,, i have changed res and newts levels and have got him running better but he still has issues when nothing else around here does.. he just has some issues I dont like. 6 and 8 bladed leaves.. 1 node was a Tri just lots of odd things that both Females dont show at all.. so im gonna look for a similar male that shows none of these traits and can match up great with the females i find.
