...Vietnam Black and Nam Nah Trang are probably the warmest of the garden.
VB effect is one of my favourites, it's clear anti anxious social and warm.
Nah Trang is super clear and motivating, perfect weed to smoke while working in the garden...

Greetings, dubi!

Since you have no Nah Trang male to reproduce the line, perhaps it will be just right to cross her with VB 13-week 'dense' pheno male if you has one?

The highs you describe is really unique for both VB and Nah Trang, this is sort of my 'holy-grail' type of high. I grow Angola Roja X Banghi right now for that purpose, looking for clear clean happy energetic high without trippines/anxiety/paranoia.

Kindest regards!

Alfred I was these summer in Vietnam and we pass through CatCat which had large fields of plants. If I knew you wanted some I would have pick them up for you.

Vietnamese is certainly some interesting smoke....Nice thread everybody, glad to see the participation. Good to see you here dubi!

A friend and I grew some of the Vietnamese Black outdoors from seed in Hawaii. It turned out very nice, and yielded quite well. Just have to start them indoors first, then pop'm outside. Long season they went 13-14 weeks, and produced some nice bubblehash, which incidentally made the water turn a very dark brown, almost black. Creeper weed, the first few tokes don't give much feeling, but continue to smoke and you'll be almost seeing things! Definitely not for the anxious type or someone with a heart problem...

From clone I found they go MUCH faster short season outdoors. Veg indoors first, then put them outside around mid September. They will finish MUCH quicker, but will also yield less. I had a clone of the original seed plant, and it was done completely in 70 days! Anyone else had this happen with landraces when putting clones outside to flower? Specifically somewhere sub tropical?

Wish I had some pics to share, but they got eaten up by OG's demise unfortunately. :violin:

Oh, and try making some hash oil from this stuff if you get a hold of it. It will literally BLOW YOUR HEAD OFF.

Peace

Viet Black,

Would be nice if some breeders could bring some of that strain back, make some s1's or something. Organic1, I think I remember your grow on another site before it went down. I was really impressed and jealous..lol Take care and happy growing.

It seems that dubi possess the most unique pheno of VB. I've been told that there are up to 4 phenos within VB line, and most of them has that trippy/heart-pounding high. That VB pheno+Nah Trang sounds very special, and really appealing for ADHD / low motivation syndrome.

Beautiful pics guys.

I have been running the vietchunk (vietnamese black x deep chunk) from alfred-cannarias now for a while and it has proved to be my favorite in the garden during every grow. I get overwhelmed with all of the insane hybrids going around. many have overpowering indica dominant effects, but vietchunk held its sativa high. The effect is very intensely psychedelic and creative and the plant hardly resembles a marijuana plant in late flower. I would truly like to try the pure sativa's from vietnam if they generally hold these effects.

Here is a pic of my vietchunk. Had to pull it early due to early snow fall. Her calyxes swell to a deep magenta and glimmer with trichomes in late flower.

If anyone knows of good vietnamese hybrids or true vietnamese sativa's I would love to find them. This lady will likely stay with me to the bitter end. Everyone in town has kept a clone for their personal stash. It's too good to give away.

Signing off,

I met a Vietnamese girl over the summer who's family still lives and grows in Vietnam. Apparently the strain they grow has been grown by their family for generations. She gave me about an eighth and it was a really interesting strain, round nuggets with a brain-like consistency. It was really different, and though the other girls all thought it was fruity, it tasted really spicy to me. I went through every bud and only found one light green seed, I was excited but figured it wouldn't grow, and it didn't. I tried to pop it in water, and when that didn't work I put it in soil for a good while, nothing.

Anyway, I got together with her and her brother on Halloween and went to a concert with them. This time we smoked one of my strains, and they lived for it! In fact I talked to her last night and she casually mentioned it again. Her father has a masters degree in horticulture, so I'm figuring their strain is being grown locally somewhere. When I asked her if she had any, she said she was out but was expecting some soon (FYI-outdoor growers are starting to wrap it up here). Hopefully in the very near future I can make some kind of trade. It's hard to finesse seeds out of someone without coming out and telling them that you grow, especially when you hardly know them. But I have high hopes of getting my hands on some in the next few months, even if I have to buy an ounce or so. If and when I do I'll make sure to breed them and make a bunch of seeds. I don't want to cross them with anything, I want to keep it exactly what it is. Hopefully if all goes as planned, I'll make some available on here.

Hello All!! Just a quick ?? for you Herbalistic, as it seems that you have some knowledge about the Vietnamese Sativas. A friend of mine left me his Moms, 7 rooted clones, and about 20 seeds of a strain that he worked on and off since he came back from the killing fields in '74. Now he labeled it as being pure Lieu Hahn, which he described as a Viet/Laotian sativa. I can tell you that it has an endless ceiling, flowers for about 15-16 weeks, and is a decent yielder. It has the thin bladed leaves, and is a darker green and gets almost black when it has a full 21-30 day cure. As for the smoke, well there should be a warning label, the stuff will really bend your mind if you over-indulge.
Now, I started a thread in this section called "Lieu Hahn in seed form". In that thread I was informed that I may in fact have a mis-named strain, and that Lieu Hahn is a goddess and not a place name as is often used in naming strains. From this brief description, can you possibly clear up the question as to wether or not Lieu Hahn, my version, could be a varietal with the wrong name. I mean my buddy worked this strain ONLY, I had seen it countless times at his spot, so I know that it's the same stuff he was working!
Any help from you and/or anyone for that matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks All!
I remember Fet sold those seeds and if I remember right he said they were a hybrid os two Nam strains or one Nam and the other Laos. Thats when he sold from Doc's site....ndn
