Nordic/Danish outdoor strains and genetics

Hi there. For those interested in the Early Finishing Outdoor Genetics. Try out Zen Seeds online from where else Denmark! Hybrids from Hell for certain. Safe and Happy growing to all. Looking forward to trying some of these genetics in the Interior of B.C. along the U.S. Canada border Okanogan Valley. Regards.

it is possible to keep mothers of the early strains but they are very sensitive and starts flowering outside here when lights go below 18 hours a day
that means they are also sensitive in regards of too small pots, lack of nutrients etc

these early and sensitive strains are in most cases not carried by larger companies or resellers so you will have to look for places specialising in such outdoor genetics from small private breeders
UDG, Seedshare, Zenseeds, DCF and similar are good places to find these rare genetics
they are sometimes up on seedbay at server funding auction but you would have to be fast to grab one since the breeders often are not seedbay vendors and thus in very short and time limited supplies

Super thread gunnar! Great read, thanks for all your efforts.
Do you have any grows planned for 2010 that you'll be putting up in a thread? :)
Any new strains you'll be testing?

Been lurking for quite a while, so finally heres a question or two if anyone can help:

Hoping to grow some thyphoon and leb 27 maybe some other crosses or similar nordic strains at a very damp 55n next year. But I'd like to veg them indoors and bush them out to the size of the cab before I put them out. If I put these out after first frost will they prematurely flower and then reveg as it gets into summer? I'll probably have to wait until there's at least 17/18 hrs daylight so they don't stress? Any idea what keeper phenotypes I'm after with the leb and thyphoon? Thanks yall

Nice one

The problem with "danish" OD strains indoor, is that most of'em will autoflower indoor. Not all but most of'em will. So it can be hard work finding the right mother. Some may even hermie. I had a very very nice Danish Passion that i wanted to keep alive under 18/6, but it was inpossible to keep her from flowering indoor, and personally i think it will be the same with Thyphoon and Leb27.

Best wishes for u bro

24 hours of light instead of 18 might help a bit but I agree finding keeper moms from these strains might be a chore.

Of course after the chore is done you have those keepers and just think of the fields you could plant... ;) But yeah the only advice about the pheno to look for is to look for the one that doesn't autoflower.

Anyway I recommend making seeds for the year after next as well.

Had a Thyphoon hermie badly indoors btw but the sacks were easy to pick off and the smoke was really good. Royal Dane grew beautifully indoors IIRC, smoke was even better.

UK08 is good indoor and outdoor...she wont AF on u. Shes even better in x'ses. She has some "borring" phenoes, but some nice and trippy too. The "good pheno" for me is giving u a gr8 uphigh and then nails u to the sofa.

Heres a cross..

lalandia: Your UK08xb3n7/dp looks wicked, nice colours, do you know the genetics of the UK08? Are there any distinct scents on the stem to look for or not to look for in early veg for that pheno?

Esbe: Thanks for the early durban tip. You mean start many seeds and pull them out if they flower/hermie? I'm real keen on the leb27 for some reason, any experience indoors? Or experience with what I'm attempting: an indoor grown outdoor strain put out at about 1m+ height after last frost or later to avoid stress, finishing end Sept / begin Oct.

Will all photo sensitive strains flower when they reach their usual max height or will they continue to grow until the days get shorter? Is there a usual max height for photo sensitive strains at all?
An 8 or 9 month growing season at 55n. They would be trees.

Anyone think 1kg - 1 plant, nordic latitudes, is possible doing that?

i had almost maximum sized danish passion last year that yielded me 200g dry. i'm at north 62. i feel that getting a kilo from just one plant this up north is a daydream. but like esbe said, plant with volumes and you'll get enough to smoke through the winter!

A grower at 52 N had a harvest last year of nearly 900 grams from the variety Henkes Lolland, so it is possible but difficult at the latitude of 62 N.

Namaste :plant grow: :canabis:
