Noob with root rot

Hello all,
Please be gentle, it is my first time... Posting and growing.

I receive a couple clones from a buddy last Friday and one of my girls is not looking so good. I went to my local grow shop on Saturday and showed them a picture. From that pic they thought it was possibly root rot.

I watered on Friday night around 2 cups with light dose of nutes. There was some drainage out of the pot after 30-45 sec.

The base of the stock is softer than the upper stock.

Not sure what else to tell you. What you you think?

If it is root rot is there any hope for her?

She was feeling light so I gave her 1.5 cups of water with no nutes this morning.

Here is my current setup if it matters.

1 gallon pots
Tupur soil
10'x5'x6.5' tent
Temperature range between 70 & 80 F
Well water at 6.2~ ph
General Organics BioThrive,BioMarine, CalMag nutes (fed light dose on Friday)
8 lamp T5 HO

"The base of the stock is softer than the upper stock."

This sounds like a nitrogen toxicity problem.
When I look at the picture I see a over fertilization issue as well.

Treat toxicity by flushing the growing medium with 3x the volume of your pot size.
Do not add more fertilizer containing nitrogen for least a week so the excess nitrogen in the foliage can be used.

1 Gal. pots = 3 gal of clean water at one time.
A old organic grower I know used to refer flushing the medium was = to chicken soup for us humans.
I suggest a clean water source over your well water for the flush.
You have no idea what is in your well water I bet ?
What its PPM is?
It is not wise to have a fan blowing directly at your plants unless it is a oscillating type.

I am changing the fan now. I do not know the ppm of my water. I am going to look into an RO machine. Thank you for the info.

looks overwatered to me, which can look like deficiency or toxicity in soil. It might not be a bad idea to just let it dry out a bit. When they don't have a strong root system they can be super easy to overwater in soil.

If it were me.... I'd let the soil dry a bit. Take note of how heavy the pot is right now, then pick it up and monitor the weight of the pot every day as it dries. There will be very few roots in the bottom of the pots so they arent drinking a lot of water right now, you don't even need to water til run off. I have done this many many times with clones in soil and after a while you just get a feel for it. I'm not sure how many nutes are in Tupur but if its a soil with plenty of nutes in it you should be able to go a few weeks without feeding it, and feeding it more can compound your issues if overwatered as well. Keep an eye on the ph of the water you put in and when they get stronger check the ph of the run off and adjust from there. I have turned around plants that looked sadder than that but it took a while and some patience.

I did a 3 gallon flush earlier today. I will let it dry out a bit. There is no smell other than soil. I was checking the ph of the runnoff. It was about 6.7 before the flush. I have stopped all nutes until they get a bit stronger.

On track then it sounds like. My biggest problem with small clones was never anything more than over watering when it comes to soil.

Until you get into the hundreds of gallons and NPK, you really dont have to worry bout all te water science right now, remember root gotta dry out to breath , water is to drink - not needed until on the dry side. as stated above when you pick the pot up and it really light then water again.

is she to be a mother or you flowering?

Now let the pot dry down at least a week maybe even two.
Keep your fingers crossed and hope for the best.
Please keep us posted.
It will take a few days before seeing if you moved in the right direction.

I can tell by looking at the photo that the pot is still very wet. Resist the urge to water it and see what happens. I think as long as the pot dries down before the clone dies and you water lightly for a couple weeks she will turn around.
