Non-stick scissors

T

thesloppy

I didn't even know such a thing existed until yesterday, when I ran across a pair of titanium reinforced, non-stick scissors, with a lifetime cutting guarantee for $10. What grower's curiosity isn't piqued by such a promise?

Anybody have any experience with these? The packaging says their intended for scrapbooking, and cutting tape and shit. I have my doubts that they'll actually work worth a damn, but they're SCISSORS OF THE FUTURE, and trimming will certainly put those claims to test.

That's pretty interesting, I knew Fiskars made a titanium model, but didn't know titanium was considered non-stick.

Back to paper towel and 91% rubbing alcohol

I will have to give that a try...but then again, my friends love scissor hash! Thx for the tip

Yep, just lube em up, within the joints of scissors, the blades and wipe em off good. And you will still get your scissor hash, they just won't lock up like they do when they get gunked up. Bascially, just longer times between scissor cleanings and smooth cutting.

I heard rubbing alcohol and been doing that with a scrub pad and then paper towel, pain in the butt but works well.

Fiskars will replace your broken scissor for free too (lifetime warranty). When the spring broke, we emailed Fiskars and they asked us to email them a picture of the broken scissors, and about a week later we received a brand new replacement in the mail.

The titanium variety does cut better and seems not to collect the stickiness on the blade as much as the "standard" ones. ISO and razor blade is how we clean our scissors.
