What's the point of changing the point of the community, right?

Nobody is asking to change anything, merely expand. Adding a single forum to the dozens we already have wouldn't take anything away from the forums here, it would just give cannabis growers that are also interested in growing other plants alongside their marijuana a place to talk about it, share techniques, etc. instead of having a few threads scattered throughout the forums here.

I don't understand what there is to get. There are people here that enjoy growing other plants hydroponically, that are active in this forum. A place to talk about it here is desired. If you don't want to be a part of that place, then don't go there, nobody is forcing you. Why is this such a hard concept for you to understand? This is a very large community with a lot of very knowledgable and helpful people, why not spread the knowledge about this subject also if people here are interested? Nobody wants to take down all the cannabis posts and replace them with peppers or tomatoes, but why not have a small forum for people that wish to discuss those topics?

I didn't make this thread, I just fail to see how you are all so opposed to the idea? If you can give me a single reason that it's a bad idea then I'll stop. All I'm saying, if you've read any of my posts, is that the subject is related to this community, and there are people here that want to discuss it. Why not? What is the huge problem with it? What would be so bad about having a single sub-forum devoted to growing plants that are legal everywhere?

Edit: And I never once said I don't want to be a part of this place, I've said exactly the opposite, that's the entire point of everything I've said. It seems useless to convince you though, so I'm finished. Wouldn't want anyone to be open minded about it or anything.

What sproutco said, no need for a forum, if you want to grow peppers in hydro and post a grow thread, go for it, the people that are interested will follow it, people that arent won't, if the mods dont like it they will delete it . I believe there is a giant pumpkin thread floating around here somewhere so it wont be the 1st.

well I guess I have to voice my opinion on the subject:

-first of all If there was a forum on here specific to veggies and peppers and ornamental flowers...I would def. use it often (but thats just me)

HOWEVER ..I gotta agree w/ the rest that ultimately it doesnt belong here...and thats the bottom line. (i think planetganja has one though).

you want 1 good reason...I'll give you a couple:

lets say your at the newsstand:
-you dont pick up a skateboard magazine because you wanna see stuff on BMX (although you might occasionaly)
-you dont pick up better home and gardens because u wanna see tits and ass (although you might occasionaly)
-you dont pick up apartment finder if your looking to buy a house
-you dont pick up soldier of fortune if your looking for crossword puzzles
-you dont pick up hightimes to see badass vegetable gardens
-you dont pick up playboy to see articles on flyfishing

this site as well as most good websites are very similar to magazines in that they are usually very specific to one topic....and may occasionaly crossover w/ an article or two here or there....but NOT an ENTIRE section every issue. (thats pretty much what your asking for)

there are places on the Net where there are forums for those topics....and thats where the experts in those areas are. I bet those 17 members of the posted forum earlier in this thread can help a-lot more than people here (this is a MJ forum).

...I'm guilty of throwing up off topic threads, but thats just because I feel comfortable here, and really do value the input from the great people on this website....but If I'm really serious about "growing peppers" for instance...then I'm gonna find the experts....thats how I ended up here.

I'm not gonna ask the "pepper experts" how to grow weed.

thats my 2-cents...hopefully that will help ya understand "why not" a bit more

...oh yeah BTW this site is maintained by "gypsy nirvana" ...a "marijuana seed vendor"...the last time I checked GN was not offering any "tomato" or "pepper" seeds. ....its just not the focus of this community
