Noiseless Air pumps ..

I was interested in these things, from earlier postings as Harry Gypsna mentioned, but lost interest after reading about the lorax's soundproof enclosure.

FYI, he enclosed a 35w, 65L/m commercial air pump in insulation foam boards and was able to reduce the noise down to a level where it's just slight humming when standing next to it! Simply outstanding, thanks again lorax!

I haven't ordered the pump yet, but when I do I'll be sure to build the same enclosure.

That said, I also hate airstones; but I don't see why one made of foam like this can't be made to work with standard air pumps...

Forget all that, this is what you need...KeepAlive aerator.

what you guys are buying for $30 is only doing like 50-60gph, these things do 460gph or 1100. They are used in bait tanks on fishing boats. awesome product.

Eh, nice 6-month warranty... says a lot. Especially if you factor in that it appears to have a typical sand airstone permanently mounted. Coupled with the fact that you're going to have to pump through nute solutions which are notorious for clogging those airstones over time. Plus imagine the extra heat that it would add, and the impracticality of running it in smaller DWC setups (like 5 gallon buckets).

At least that's what it looks like.

That burstin' Bubbler aeration graphic in the above post is freaking me out man. hehe ;) :D

A Homemade budget "Jacuzzi Spa" system ;)
It makes me want to put that thar thing in a big ol' large black plastic barrel and let the sun heat it up all day and giter goood anhot and then plug that bubbler in.
Add 1/4 to 1/2 strength of good ol' reliable "Mr. Bubble" and climb on in and take memy "Sateerrday night bath"... ;)

Run that 12 volt bubbler off of a small solar panel and I bet ya could go to the "Spa" again on tuesday too. Drain valve is optional. ;) :D
I'm goin' in...

Have a good day and bubble away.

Clowntown, they are not airstone, but rather use a venturi type system to break the air into fine particles by passing it over the pump impeller.
