Check these out......
I used to suspend air pumps between shelf brackets with rubber bands in situations where stealth was crucial...(i.e. snoppy kids).

Now there is a better option - Noiseless vibration Free...
And I believe there from Italy.. Hopefully they will preform like a Ferrari...
I'll prob. Get a couple this week...
And let the you peep's Know the deal..

Heres the link----Noiseless Air pump

That's a very nice find for sure. I'll be watching your post. I know i'm tired of stones and will be replacing all my air stones and pumps with these. That's if they work as good as posted. Thanks for your find.
Take care

yeah...I saw these a few eeks ago and suggested them in the DWC sticky thread..... I was going to try em out, but then it was pointed out about heating up the water.... i think its cool though how allthere is is a little "Snorkel" stiking out the top to take air in....
If it dont heat things up to much ill try one so ill check back in to see how ur going with em...

Best price Ive found on them. Im still waiting for my usual Fish shop to get them. No one beats their prices. I do think the marine depot price is killer though compared to everywhere else. They arent fly by night either. They are a reputable fish supply company, not saying the other isnt, just not as popular.

Heating up like harry said is a con. But as someone who has used powerheads with great success in DWC I can say that as long as you stay with the first 2 models heat shouldnt be that big of a problem. I didnt have a bad heat problem until I went into the 3rd and 4th models in the powerheads (aqua clear 302 and 402) I suggest the smallest model. It will do up to 10 gal tank sufficiently. The other con is the fact that the impeller is exposed. Possible root clogs if used in DWC.

nice find calyx and great info omega... definitely a good point about the exposed impeller, perhaps another piece of foam like the one used to disperse the bubbles put over the impeller would solve that problem... thanks again... now what do i do with all my noisyass air pumps!

Very cool. I may look into getting a couple of these for my new stealth cab. I was planning on just using powerheads and PC fans to help blow O2 on the surface but if these are silent I'd be intrested to see how they work out.

can you hook up pure O2 to these air pumps?
Im all over it Bro......Great Call........
I believe I read that the air hose is cut to desired length once installed. So I think it's independent...like if you were 2 hook up some tubing from an airpump to a powerhead veturi inlet.... Ya Dig......
Thanks for the link.........

Check out my GH Dual Air pump and mount...

I have the pump mounted on a piece of wood that is then suspended with small bungie cables. It's so quiet compared to the other noises in room I have to put my hand on it to be sure it's running.

Cheers!

Good call G.P., thanks for the link........ LOve the Graphs......
That is a great Link for information on the subject....

I am currently studying Commerical Aquaculture and a will most likely borrow a D.O. tester From My Professor....

I toyed with the idea of pure o2 Saturators. But I think these Ario Pumps Will Provide sufficent Dissolved o2. For the Small Rez's most of us use.....

I plan on doing some testing in the near future on the subject though......

Peace........ cALyX---------------out
P.S. The New pumps Should be here Mid. Week....

I bought one for my five gallon bubbler. Put it in for like two minuets and stuck the old airstone back in. now its sitting on my shelf. I thought the airstone put out better bubbles and also i thought of the root problem. I'm thinking of using it in a controler bucket when i use one.

Bumping this ye olde thread

Good online deals @ drsfostersmith in the U.S. on
Hydor Ario "Turbo Air Pumps"
An exclusive new concept in aquarium air pumps.
Unlike nearly all other air pumps, this pump is totally silent and vibration free!
This means that you hear nothing but the soothing sound of air bubbles.
The secret is in the unique design. The pump sits submerged underwater, which prevents any noise from escaping out into the room.
Air is pulled down through a length of tubing and then emitted through a foam diffuser on the top of the pump.

Each pump is very small and can be positioned in the gravel behind plants and ornaments to hide it from view.
Cleaning and maintenance is quick and simple, with no rubber parts to wear out quickly.
Please note that these pumps are for aeration of your tank only.
They do not have any output tubes to hook up additional airstones or action ornaments.
Choose a model that is rated with a similar tank depth and volume to your setup.
115 Volt, 60 Hertz operation only.
Each pump includes suction cups, air volume control, and connectors.
