I haven't touched coke in 10 years either. The last time was 2006. The comedown sucked so much last time, I told myself I'd never do it again.

I dated this girl in 2014. One of the hottest girls I've ever been with. She brought coke to my apartment one Friday night and started doing lines right in front of me. I knew at that moment I had a choice. Do coke with her and have amazing sex all night? Or not. I knew it wouldn't be just the one time if I did it with her. I held out and said no.

Well I really don't want to get into a coke discussion because of an overload of it plus I don't like it occupying my thoughts cause it's just a hamster wheel mentality. Best way to sum up coke in a nutshell is the experiments done on monkeys where they give them three different experiments. One gives them on demand caffeine, and they take as much as they want as a reward for pulling a lever or something. They pulled the lever a 1-3 hundred times it about, and quit. Then they tested nicotine on them and they pulled the lever a lot more times, maybe over a thousand or several thousand times and then quit. When they gave them unlimited access to coke every single one pulled the lever until they were dead. People are basically the same as monkeys that way and others, given unlimited coke, or even just regular access.

Interestingly, they have done studies more recently that have shown that it's not the drugs so much as the environment that drives the animal to keep pulling the lever. When the animal is not alone in a cage and has other sources of entertainment they do not become slaves to the drug so easily. So self destructive drug use is possibly mostly caused by unhappiness and disconnection from others of our kind and not because the drug is so irresistible.
