Homer Simpson almost predicted the mass of the elementary particle, the Higgs boson, more than a decade before it was discovered, according to a new book on maths in The Simpsons.
In the episode “The Wizard of Evergreen Terrace”, aired in 1998, Homer becomes an inventor and is shown in front of a blackboard with a complicated equation.
“That equation predicts the mass of the Higgs boson” Simon Singh said. “If you work it out, you get the mass of a Higgs boson that’s only a bit larger than the nano-mass of a Higgs boson actually is. It’s kind of amazing as Homer makes this prediction 14 years before it was discovered.”

Author of The Simpsons and their Mathematical Secrets, said: “The Simpsons is the most mathematical TV show on prime-time television in history,” adding: “A lot of the writers on The Simpsons are mathematicians.” He said the first full episode of The Simpsons had a joke about calculus, adding there was a “tonne of maths” in the show which references concepts including Fermat’s last theorem, perfect numbers, mersenne primes.

The OT was written over 6000 years ago. These were different times, and for anyone to say that it can be compared to the modern era are fools.

This was mans beginning, closer to primitive nature, which results in much more death and rape over feelings such as jealousy, envy etc. God didnt have a Christian foundation (like the US) to work with, over 6000 years ago was likely a very brutal time in history which requires didnt lessons and punishment.

God couldnt say,"hey penalty for this and that, prison." oh wait we cant afford to house this man in our little town with no jail. times were different. you have to look at the times, not just, "well in my day in age (because of jesus christs philopsophy catching like wildfire) we dont use that form of punishment so it must have been wrong then too.

Slavery was not the slavery you think of. It was a choice made by the person to become a slave. When you couldnt pay your finances that you were in debt of because of your own actions, you could choose to pay it off through servitude. Likely, the other option was death (human law). So you sign a contract saying you are a slave to certain person. That person has rights. We didnt have the systems in place to govern these contracts, besides just killing people who didnt comply, so these slave-owners had rights to punish slaves who did not comply with the contracts they agree'd to, makes sense to me. if it doesnt make sense to you, your more like jesus then the rest of us.


Also, if you read some of the NT verses you would also understand that there was the old law and the new law. the old law is to prove to man after giving him a chance that he can not keep universal laws between men on his own. the new law says believe in jesus and the rest will come.

One thing that bugs me is the fact that people say morality comes from god's laws. Well, if this is true, then how come 'Thou shalt not kill' comes in at number 4 is the 10 commandments? Surely that is the big number 1. The most evil thing anyone can do is take another persons life. And what's number 1? 'Thou shalt not deny thy holy spirit or holy father'. So, let me get this straight, in god's eyes, you can be forgiven for multiple muder, rape, child abuse, etc - but not for denying him? Damned for thinking. I'm beginning to think this god guy aint very nice. And what counts as 'denying'? Does a mere thought in one's head count? its all very vaigue.
Secondly, there is no evidence - NONE WHAT SO EVER - that any biblical story - or any other religious story for that matter is true. All you got is a book. Why is the book holy? Because it saids so in the book! Wonderful, anyone could have written it: a drunken guy in the gutter or a person who suffers from a mental illness ( no offence intended to any mental health suffers as my mother suffers it ).
