Nirvanas seeds seem to have too many purple phenos

thadocta- i've heard that too, but having grown some of their indicas, i havent seen any sativa influence in them. i had a friend who kept the purple rhino clone going a while and that definately didnt have any skunk in it and it was by far the best rhino i have sampled. beat the regular phenos out by a long shot!

I grew the Northern lights x big bud and it was really sativa. Citrusy smell when fresh, no smell or taste when cured.

Today I am harvesting Nirvana White Widow and it is extremely stinky. My 10 day old harvested tester buds had a smooth smoke and excellent stone. Made seeds crossing it with Desiak from almighty seeds.

Here is the Nirvana WW, not skunky at all...

I have to agree and i think they are doing that. I think it might be the old purple skunk or the strain that was called Eastern Purple. I grew this strain out in the mountains and loved it. I think the father might be on the purple side and might be causes all these different strains to produce purple pheno. Just like you said, only my 2 cents.

I've grown out a pack of White Rhino and NLxBB. No purple plants. Then again, I've spent a fortune trying to get something purple (Double Purple Doja, Gberry P) and NOT ONE FREAKIN HINT OF PURPLE!@!!!@@!

SOOO, my conclusion is that I am a green thumb instead of a purple thumb and I just have to be happy with that.

Does starving the plant really help? lol

Oh, i totally agree. I could careless and i love their seeds. For the price you paid and what you get. You couldn't have ask for any better for the price you pay. I personally love their K2 and Papaya. I'll aways have a few packs of those in the stash box. K2 is a nice cash crop plant and so can Papaya. Going to be growing the shit out of them once i get going again. Going to try a cross and give them away as some freebies with my seeds later on. Will see what happens, but Nirvana makes some good seeds and would love to shake hands with those guys when i visit the Dam next time. Good thread.

I oddly got some plants with solid purple buds out of a nirvanna swazi pack. I thought these were better and possibly less skunk 1 like than the green ones though. The problem I have with nirvanna seeds is that skunk 1 does very poorly in a hot humid climate and the nirvanna seeds seem to lack heat and mold tolerance

Ive grown there ,master kush, hindu kush, chrystal , white rhino, ak48, bubilicious.None of these are in my mother collection......way too many phenos. lucky if I found one plant that actually represents what THEY call it....lol Thats why all the REAL breeders HATE NIRVANA..... Thats why they had to change there names to close nock off names-ak48?lol...bublicious?lol Lets just say Simon hates them and now so do I.

nirvana genes are simply cheap beans. you get what you pay for. obviously some pollen free floats in his garden.

I had a purple nirvana afghani, didn't yield shit, looked like a sativa, but incredible looking buds. the smell, taste and stone were all amazing. only it didn't yield shit, and the real problem, it wasn't much of a pure ghani.

I also will not be buying them again. they are great if you have no seeds and want KB. other than that they are a crap shoot.

i just finished growing out the blue/purple pheno of nirvanas white rhino... i would have kept the mother but she was kinda crappy... not to say that i think nirvana is crappy.. just a weak pheno i supposed.. the buds were very whispy and fluffly and there was quite a bit if stretch between internodes... more than i saw on any of my other plants... how ever the smoke is good.. very hashy and dark, killer couchlock stone.. i was dissapointed in the yield though.. i gave some of the white rhino beans to my fater to grow out.. ill let you guys know if i come across a blue/purple pheno again

I must pay my contribution to the thread by telling you guys/gals that Nirvana strains really got some nice purple phenos to watch for. The strains that I am talking about are Jock Horror & Nl x Haze, they both have these amazing purple phenos that are really potent. Maybe I can post a pic in couple weeks from my friends purple Jock Horror. (if she is showing purple color yet...) I dont really know about their other strains purple phenos potency(expect WhiteRhino ), but these two I can say for sure!

The suggestion that there have been accidental pollination with an purple strain is another story...

mine looked almost identical.. maybe with a little more blueish tint to them... my temps might have been a bit high at times as well for the first few weeks and they did go a hell of a long time in flower.. the other white rhino i grew out was the oppisite.. im going to keep an eye out though... in the process of finding a good hashberry mother.
