The tallest of the plants comes in at a towering 6". I really love these little plants. They stink stink stink like crazy. MMMMMM stink so good.
I'm only going to take off the top buds on the two plants that have side branches shooting out from the bottom. There seems to be two phenotypes: one that just grows straight up, and one that has side branches that grow up at angles from the bottom. I'm going to let them grow another week or so.
BUDS.
I'm totally satisfied with this run. Next time I'm going to fill up the little cabinet with six plants growing in soy milk cartons....more room for root development and hopefully bigger buds. I might even motivate myself to do some rearranging and add more bulbs somehow. Right now I have two 23w 2700k bulbs and one 23w 6000k bulb for a total of 69w.
Jennee got busy this weekend. I figured I was breaking the rules of the micro grow philosophy which is to maximize the space you have. Only using 69W was making me feel lazy. So, I decided to add more lights. I looked at the little nightstand and got my tape measure and figured I should be able to fit in six more lights.....that is if I could cut the bulk of the light fixtures off on the table saw.
Now there are 8 bulbs......evenly split between 2700k and 6500k. So I guess my total watts now stand at 184W. My next harvest will probably be a little different.
it's not hot at all. i don't have a thermometer but it feels like maybe it's in the low to mid 70s. the bulbs get warm but my exhaust fan sucks the heat right out....and at the bottom there is an intake that is constantly supplying fresh 60 degree air from my house. So, heat not a problem.
I can see the logic behind your light bulb scheme Jetta. Maybe I will implement that. In theory, I should have all the bulbs @ 6500k for veg. As it stands now, I have still growing, the bottom parts of the partial harvest I did on Saturday.
I have decided to give another go with the soda bottles. I think the problem i ran into last time was the nute/soil combo I was using.
The dimensions of the nightstand are 11"L x 14"w x 17"h up to the bottom of the CFLs.
I'll postsome pics when the new beans start popping out.
I'll be waiting for updates. All 6500 for veg is a good idea for stretch but I've always been a fan of mixed spectrums thats why i wouldve thrown in the other 2700s but thats just a personal pref.
