I live in Boston what can I see tonight? I have a one-eyed binocular thing
Even just having a look at the moon through the most basic telescope is pretty fucking cool when you're high...

The shimmering of the atmosphere like fucking water.... the speed the fucker moves at.... it's all pretty awesome....

It's better when it's around the first quarter to half moon.... you can see shadow on the craters etc...

Fuck knows what you can see in Boston btw, I'm in a different hemisphere 😂

yup remember seeing that pic thought the sunset being blue was strange for the red planet some science dude explained why kinda made sense alittle bit.

heres what the machine said

A sunset on Mars appears blue because the Martian atmosphere is filled with fine dust particles that scatter red light more efficiently than blue light, causing the blue light to be more visible during sunrise and sunset when the sunlight travels through a greater portion of the atmosphere; essentially, the opposite effect of why Earth's sky appears blue during the day.

It’s pretty clear cut there east v west

Are there any “darkness Reserves” in the states?

We have one in NZ down Mackenzie country. Legislation on street light and signage etc. The star watching there is next level cause it’s a highland too.
not sure about darkness reserves but read out in the west the deserts at night have beautiful night skies great views of the milkyway

I'm not sure, looks to me like it's right centered on an Indian Reservation. But that thing is lit up bigger than Detroit, so even an AFB seems not right.
maybe it's supplemental lighting for greenhouses on the reservations ?:D from what i'm reading, the federal govt is letting the tribes pretty much govern on the reservation land. the Cherokee have cannabis in NC. "the Great Smoky Cannabis Dispensary, it's called, and sells to anyone 21 or older. what is "therapeutic use" is up to the individual as it should be.

I'm trying to figure out what the big bright spot is at the northern section of border of North Dakota, and Montana? It doesn't make sense to me...

looked it up its called the billion dollar bonfire. heres what the machine had to say

North Dakota experiences significant light pollution, primarily due to the oil and gas industry activity in the Bakken formation, where numerous drilling rigs and gas flares illuminate the night sky, creating a noticeable "glow" visible even from space; this is often referred to as "Kuwait on the Prairie" due to the intensity of the light pollution in certain areas.

The bright spot in North Dakota is right in the Williston and surrounding areas. Those lights are from the drill rigs that are setup in the region. I have been there a few times and saw this sight from the air. It's actually pretty daunting that there are so many drill rigs out there.
