SCE charges "winter rates" and "summer rates"...in addition to higher rates during "peak" hours. Difference between "peak" and "non-peak" is $0.02355/kwh for "winter" and $0.2094/kwh for "summer"...HUGE DIFFERENCE for summer!
So last month I used 3100 kwh during "nonpeak" hours and saved $73...but if the summer rate was used, then the savings would be $649! Talk about bringing home the bacon!
Unless you request "time of use" billing (smart meter required), then your electric bill is probably based on total usage--not when it is used.
