ngb style gow box

i was thinking of going with mdf board because i think itl be more ofa sound deadener. also i am going to try to eithr notch it and glue it or key hole notch it and glue it with a router. loctite makes a pl polyurathane construction adhesive that will hold up 2 1100 psi this way i wil hav clean neat corners with out any screws. idk if this will work or not but i wil b posting it dureing construction and i will let you know if it works

I plan on keeping the carbon scrubber in the utility room connected straight to the fan.

question Time

1. Am I going to be able to keep the cab in my bathroom (shower - humidity)?

2. How can I vent my mother room and my flower room should I have the air vent from underneath

3. what lights should I get for my bonsai mothers? preferably something I dont have to wire up, just fasten it to through roof and plug it in

Thanks for all the help I plan on posting pics when I get the cab constructed

80% humidity might be too high for flower?

MDF will probably be a little quieter. Stress points with MDF are more vulnerable than plywood unless reinforced. If you've ever moved a cheap tv or computer stand and had the MDF split or crack at a screw point, you know what I'm getting at. Your res will be heavy, you'll need the extra floor support FreezerBoy mentioned, especially with mdf. If you have trouble with the floor joist FB sketched, you can substitute a block spacer. The brackets work well for everything except a load on a raised floor.

If you plan to use screws, drywall screws work well. It's also easier to assemble if you pre drill the screw holes. The hole should be almost the length of the screw. It shouldn't be any larger than the screw shaft (less threads.) MDF threads may strip if you're not careful. A sliver of soft pine in the screw hole works well if the hole is stripped.

As Asil already mentioned, you'll need to finish the cab. Polyurethane varnish is great stuff. If you dont want a transparent finish you can use exterior latex paint. Once dry, humidity won't affect the finish.

Never had a scrubber in 80% humidity. You can substitute Ona block or gel for the carbon scrubber. Major funk may overpower the Ona but medium stink should be fine. Another good odor eliminator is a toy waterfall with Pine Sol running through it.

There are several possibilities. Check the link in my sig for one option.

You won't have much headroom in the mother room so fluorescent tubes would be nice. I have CFLs hanging down and it sucks. You can get the under cabinet lamps that are plug n play at Walmart or hardware. They're so light you can stick em to the ceiling with double sided spongy tape.
