The Harvest Continues

The Harvest Continues

Thought I would post up a few pics of how the MKU is growing along. The first round came down looking very nice.
picture.php

Cut her down in stages to see how the time affected the outcome. I started on day 66 on pulled some off each day until day 72. Not alot of difference in the 6 days time. The bud came out real nice. As I figure out the feeding it will get better.
picture.php

I yielded right around 8 ounces from this 1 plant in a 6.1 gallon pot. This pic does not include about an ounce smoked during curing. I was real happy but with the right feeding it could have yielded at least 10. Each jar is a different harvest day.
picture.php

My second round is ready. Here is day 71 for round 2. The other plants in this picture are 2 and 4 weeks behind the 2nd round.

2nd round comes down

2nd round comes down

Time for the harvest of round#2. Fed this one slightly better. Went single cola style and in a 1.5 gallon pot.
picture.php

picture.php

Yielded right at 3 ounces for the plant. A nice main cola as well.
Have not smoked hardly any of this so I am not sure if it is any better than round#1 yet. I think the next 2 rounds will be better. They have a bit more trichome coverage and have been fed better.
Round #3 at 65 days. The 2 plants in the front.
picture.php

The back plant is at day 50.
picture.php

These were topped a couple times and are in a #3 black nursery pot.
All fed with Advanced Nutrients Sensi grow and bloom throughout whole life, nothing else. The buds are getting big. I cannot put a hand around them. Frosting up nicely as well. I did an experiment with these 2 plants. I read the "High yield defoliation" thread. So I decided to defoliate 1 and leave the other alone. I figured since they were grown together in the same conditions it would make for a nice side by side comparison of the 2 techniques.
Initailly I though the defoliated 1 would be way behind. now that harvest is just a few days away I am not so sure.

No thanks. Why would I do that? The Advanced is working just fine in my opinion. You can see the results and now that I know the strain and nutes the 3rd and 4th rounds are really nice. Very simple as well. 2 bottles A&B. Add, check PH, adjust if ness and water, done. The garden I visited was organic. Not intestested in the complexity and to be honest I don't know enough about it.

I just thought you might be interested because you said to gArden you visited was organic and had more thricome coverage. but to each their own, maybe once those expensive bottles are empty you will reconsider. organics is pretty much just the start up cost then it is practically free forever. you mix you soil, amend it, and watch the plants grow. once their done your recycle the soil and use it again. amend again if necessary with the excess ammendents you would have.

but I totally you don't want to change what's working for you. if it ain't broke don't fix it.
either way beautiful plants man, keep up the good work!

I do like the simplicity of the AN. The expence is minimal. My cost for 1 qt each of the Grow and Bloom, so 4 bottles in total are right at $14.95 each. So $60.00 for all. I have grown 5 rounds now with them and none are empty. I think not a bad expence for what I get. Appreciate the input though. Thanks.

Amazing growth and system used, well done you deserved yield like this ;) :D

Thanks so much for that Superklass. Took me a couple rounds to figure things out but now I would say things are rocking along well. Buds are very nice size and have great density. Trichome coverage is good to very good, not exceptional but I think it is the strain. You can olny do as good as the genetics will allow. The yield of perpetual is great. Nice amounts comming off regularly really adds up quick. I will be well medicated till sometime next year if I did not grow another plant. But of course I will. I have the Afgoo comming up next and it is really unbelievable in the trichome department. Check back early in the thread for some pics or check out my gallery.
thanks again.

Moms new pots

Moms new pots

I repotted all 5 of my moms the other day. Went square and a bit larger to facilitate watering less frequently. These are Bontannicare brand. They are 6"x6"x8".
I have my settup down to where I can leave for 4 days without worry. The square pots make for easy root pruning when the time comes and also take advantage of all the space you might have. I could probably fit 15 or so in there if I was so inclined. I obviously keep them Bonzai style. I do not need them big, just a couple clones every couple weeks. MKU, Chem Dog V2, Chem Dog V1, Afgoo and Northern Lights.

Going to post up my feeding schedule of round #4. This is the one I gave the recomended dosages from AN's feed chart. I am using Sensi A&B and thats all. I used the Meduim Feeding schedule. Here goes.
8-29-12 A&B Grow 1ml to 1L In vegatative. 6.36PH, 333PPM.
9-4-12 A&B Grow 1.5ml to 1L In vegatative. 6.36PH, 501PPM.
9-7-12 A&B Grow 1ml to 1L In vegatative. 6.29PH, 333PPM.
9-9-12 A&B Bloom 5ml to 5L In flower. 6.31PH, 317PPM. Day 1
9-16-12 A&B Bloom 8.5ml to 5L In flower. 6.30PH, 501PPM. Day 7.
9-23-12 A&B Bloom 9.7ml to 5L In flower. 6.30PH, 591PPM. Day 14
9-28-12 A&B Bloom 11.35ml to 5L In flower. 6.32PH, 700PPM. Day 19
10-2-12 A&B Bloom 12.95ml to 5L In flower. 6.32PH, 819PPM. Day 23
10-6-12 A&B Bloom 12.95ml to 5L In flower. 6.28PH, 772PPM. Day 27
10-10-12 A&B Bloom 12.95l to 5L In flower. 6.30PH, 760PPM. Day 31
10-15-12 A&B Bloom 12.95ml to 5L In flower. 6.33PH, 680PPM. Day 36
10-19-12 A&B Bloom 12.95ml to 5L In flower. 6.30PH, 684PPM. Day 40
10-23-12 A&B Bloom 12.95ml to 5L In flower. 6.35PH, 753PPM. Day44
10-25-12 A&B Bloom 5ml to 5L In flower. 6.23PH, 320PPM* Day46
10-28-12 A&B Bloom 12.95ml to 5L In flower. 6.31PH, 818PPM. Day 49
11-2-12 A&B Bloom 11.35ml to 5L In flower. 6.31PH, 649PPM. Day54
11-6-12 A&B Bloom 9.7ml to 5L In flower. 6.29PH, 568PPM. Day 58
The asterisk is because I had to leave town for 3 days and had to water close to the last time I watered so they would make it. I dialed down the dose beacuase it was so close to the last feed.
I have reached the peak of the feeding and now it will start to come down in PPM's till the end.
Things seem to be looking great. I am at day 53 and will go at least 72. These last 19 days should be a nice wieght packing on time for sure. I am going to use AN's Final Phase at the end this time. We will see how that makes this any different than the previous 3 rounds. The cost is minimal and you actually use very little only 1 time during the entire grow cycle.

Day 68, probably take them to 80.

Day 68, probably take them to 80.

Here are a couple shots from day 68. Round #3. This one I will probably take out to real close to 80 days. Has barely started to yellow up yet. The trichs are fully white and now have about 1 in 10 amber clolor. Since I have the luxury of 4 different rounds with this MKU its nice to be able to experiment. This may be really heavy couch lock by 80 days.
picture.php

Close up.
picture.php

The size they have been packing on here near the end is just really great. Can't imagine how much people are losing out when they cut this strain early. I gave them the last feed on day 64. I will hit them with a dose of Final Phase in a couple more days to help flush, then a bit of a dry out and good to come down. The yield should be "interesting"...my guess, right at 6oz's per.

Killer job bro.
Serious dank. :joint:

Hey thanks for that trichosaurus.
Check back in about a month or so and I will have the REAL serious dank growing. I am taking clones of the Afgoo mom I have today.
Going to run 4 plants in 4 gallon pots. Each topped twice or so, multiple big heads. Going for 5 ounces per pot. Should be a easy goal with the heavy Afgoo. I grew it out first round of this diary and man what a great medication it was.
Purple Jolly Rancher taste and smell. Looked like it was dipped in sugar, pics don't lie.
This I think was day 37 of flower!

Close up also day 37.

Starting the flush.

Starting the flush.

Going to use Advance Nutrients Final Phase for the first time. Have about 25 gallons of R/O water ready to go. Going to flush tonight then harvest in about 7 days.
Here are the 2 getting the flush today.

Have a couple new environmental controllers comming in later this week that I am pretty excited about. I have a Sentinel UTC-1 and a HID-2 in route that will be controlling things from now on.
I was in need of a new heating/cooling control as my C.A.P. or CRAP one failed on me just a couple weeks into service.
The UTC-1 is very nice. All digital, easy to program, remote sensor and a photocell. Quite precise down to .5 of a degree. Also a adjustable deadband for customization to your specs.
The HID-2 is a great unit as well. Will control 2 lights with adjustable on times between the 2. Serves as a hot start preventer allowing the lights to cool for the 15 minute period to avoid damage upon hot restrikes. Also allows you to have a high temperature shut down. If you have lets say a fan failure and temp goes up shut down of the lights will occur. Very handy. All digital as well with high quality timer clock and premuim outlets.
The hot start feature for me is very important. Where I live..out quite a bit...we have brief(3 to 4 second) power outages from time to time. More frequently than I would like. So the hot start feature is very nice.

Harvest Starts on round #3. Day 77

Harvest Starts on round #3. Day 77

Bringing down the 2 I have going for round #3. Day 77 of flower. Came out super nice. Got BIG. Trich production is up a bit from the first 2 rounds.
First pic is plant #1 Day 77.
picture.php

These are some of the bigger buds. 1QT mason jar.
picture.php

I will have to say F*** yes with the size of these. Finally learning the strain and nutrients to make them shine.
This is a tray I use to trim and move buds around. Very handy and food grade and all. Now this is not a standard size tray...NO...this is a big boy. Will not fit in a standard oven. Measures 26"L X 18"D. It holds a bit of medicine. Thats just the first plant.

MK Ultra(G-13 X OG Kush).
FFOF soil.
Advanced Sensi A&B, Dose of Final Phase in week 10.
#3 nursery pot.

2nd plant topples!

2nd plant topples!

Down comes #2. Don't know if any of you remmember but I defoliated this one very early in flower. I had read the "High Yield Defoliation" thread. So I tried it. This round #3 has 2 plants in it, 1 defoliated and 1 not. Same mom, same veg time, same flower time, same nutrient, same light, same pot size and same environment.
I think a good side by side comparison, although, a very small one.
Just by holding the hangers I can tell the defoliated one is going to yield more. I am not sure how much but time will tell.
The defoliated one had many large buds and few smaller ones.
The non defoliated one had big colas with smaller sub-buds.
I will post some final wieghts between the 2 after they are done drying down.
Enough talk on with the porn.
2nd plant. The defoliated one.
picture.php

One of the top buds.
picture.php

Plant #2 first stage trimmed.
picture.php

Hangers. One on right has just thick solid colas tops.
picture.php

Both plants.
picture.php

Pretty happy with the outcome. Round 4 is all alone now and has 2 weeks to go. She should be the best of the bunch.
