I think Aaron got better as the season went along last year, not that you could tell from their record. Chef Russ is for the most part washed imo, he relied heavily on his mobility to break down defenses and he just can't jitterbug around the backfield, buying time like he used to. But ur right, Aaron is in his 40s now, he's just a bridge guy, they need to draft and develop a QB.
Sam Darnold got about 35M/yr from the Seahawks, whatchu think Rodgers signs for? I guess if he really wanted to he could sign a super cheap deal, he made enough $$ in his career.

Yeah, in the States and especially in Canada the housing shortage is bad, well at least the affordable housing shortage. And ur right, u could build cheap housing in the boonies but people want to live near the cities for work.

Egg and spoon races sound like fun, i think we have more sack and 3 legged man races here in America, at least from my experience.
I havent seen the original british version of The Wicker Man, only heard about the american remake with nicholas cage which iirc was rated as a terrible movie.

So the pre-shredded cheese is coated in cellulose so it doesnt clump together. Doesn't sound so bad, but i guess cellulose is a common ingredient in plastics manufacturing too.
I think ive had those frozen cheesesteaks, im pretty sure if u served that to TK he would bitch slap u upside the head for offending all Philadelphians with that shite. But like Pops says, maybe if he's drunk enough? Hey TK, whatchu doing for St Paddy's day? U got any Irish in u? It's basically the Irish national drinking day.

That stir fried cabbage side sounds very healthy, Pops, but does it get steamed and lose some of its crispiness when you cover it while cooking?

Ah yeah Buzz, i think i remember that big oaxacan male from last year. I do love a good sativa dom cross.
Overcooked corned beef and cabbage sounds horrid, Buzz, have you ever tried making a proper version yourself or are you just that traumatized you dont want to revisit it?
It is Pi day (3.14) today, ill be getting some cheap takeout pizzas while Buzz is making his gourmet ones. But mine comes with a free side of intestinal distress, so i win.

Is that charcuterie i see, Superx? We're going to need some irish cheese and bread or crackers alongside of that. It's evening where u are so hope you enjoy the drink.

@Bababooey
i jus think rodgers is washed up and with the paycheck he will be expecting its a lot to spend for a over the hill qb
if someone had a decent young qb and were hoping he could teach him the ropes that would be a different thing, but i heard he is kind of a dck, just like farve was when it comes to mentoring young qbs
min might be a good spot for him, but again its just a bridge qb and there are no guarantees in the nfl
/oh wait, yes there are $$$$
pit needs to take the medicine and just find a new rookie qb to build around
darnold going to sea!! 😍 😍 😍 rams are winning the nfc.w
im not a fan but he is that one guy who always seems to fall up and i am just waiting for him to start seeing ghosts
f'n hell! i knew i forgot something while i was at the store
they have this kerrygold cheese called dubliner on sale and i was thinking of picking up a pack just to check it out
/i love cheese
you are right! it is pie day
i should have picked up one of those as well while at the store
/banana cream pie!
fck it looks like going back this weedend
the cabbage does wilt a little when you steam it but you should only steam it for a second with just a few drops of water
im using the broth from the corned beef i made yesterday and making a mushroom soup
maybe if i show up with a dish i will be invited to @superx st paddys day party
/those cold cuts look amazing btw! how do you like to eat them
i would just roll them up with a nice piece of cheese on the side and some olives and pickles
crackers or bread is good addition

@buzzmobile
its funny what can create a bad memory and grey meat with mushy cabbage is a good place to start
/did the people preparing the grub eat the same food as the rest of you?
at least you can still enjoy a good measure of single malt and make new memories
so any ideas on the pies for tonight?

Hope your all in fine feetle form, so Paddy's day has arrived Not officially of course...

Palawan warrior I have a whiskey for ya, will you be long? I might have to drink it myself…

Another glorious day, take care.
I'm adding that whiskey to my list. I just grabbed a couple different rums yesterday.

We just got out of the pool. It snowed last night a bit and it's cold outside but the pool was like 90 degrees. There's a sauna and steam room to get in after if you want to.

We're gonna go get some drinks now. I'm thinking of ordering us Painkillers. I've never had one and they sound pretty good. But the night is young and there's lots of booze to consume so I gotta go, :D

Cheers everyone! 🍺

We got a balcony room this time so we can smoke outside. It overlooks the pool.

Rodgers also depends on his mobility to buy time to throw and he didnt have that last year coming off the achilles injury, im thinking another year removed from the injury he'll be more mobile, despite the increasing age.
Is he a dick to younger QBs? He didnt like the jordan love draft pick but i didnt hear he was a dick to him in the QB room. Rodgers isnt going to be your mentor type elder QB but i feel he's at least cordial to them, will answer questions if asked, etc.

Cooper returned home to Washington with a 3 yr/45M deal with the Seahawks. We'll see if he and Darnold can mind meld together like he and Stafford did their 1st year.

Ah, PW is at a resort somewhere? Those hills dont look big enough to ski. That's a nice touch on the pool, with the glass edge.

I broke down and picked up some Jameson's for St paddy's weekend, got the triple triple as well. Supposedly it tastes a little like chestnuts?

jameson triple triple.jpg

Also got a 7-11 pizza for $3.14 yesterday, it tasted alright when hot but gave u the runs afterwards. Never again. My health is more important than saving $ on food.

a 3.14 pizza! that give you the runs, do call that the run a-round or would that be too square
i dont think ive ever had a 7-11 pizza and i would be conflicted between my inner fat kid and the older me that says break a $20 and get something better
i love cheap eats but like you said at some point its worth spending the extra money
so dominoes finally came out with a stuffed crust pizza, a parm stuffed crust
i might get one next week sometime but right now im up to my ears in cabbage soup and corned beef
i also have a nice piece of salmon i want to cook this weekend so my menu is set
im not happy with the cooper going to sea thing
they lost dk, but gained cooper but he is a stud and i cant wait for the rams to face him twice a season
let us know what you think of that bottle! i saw some deals at the store the other day would not mind picking up something new or different

Ya, it isn't a ski town. It's an old gold mining town on the east of the Rockies. There's a bunch of nice resorts about 1-2 hours west, but the further east you go the drier and flatter it gets.

I broke down and picked up some Jameson's for St paddy's weekend, got the triple triple as well. Supposedly it tastes a little like chestnuts?
I'm getting a bottle of the Crested that superx mentioned next time I go to the liquor store.

That looks tasty. We had Blackjack pizza at about 2am last night. They have one open 24/7 at one of the casinos, so when you're drunk and hungry in the middle of the night at least you can still get a fresh slice of pizza.

It's basically a greasy frozen pizza. It's loaded with cheap pepperoni which ups the grease factor. It tastes alright for frozen but the processed nature of it and the grease and sodium can be hard on the stomach. I didnt have too much trouble but the woman ate more of it than I did and she had some GI distress.

I heard about the domino's stuffed crust, let us know what u think of it.
Cabbage and beef and salmon, sounds like ur eating pretty healthy, should counteract some of the bad foods u eat later.

Hawks cut tyler lockett and traded away dk metcalf so they had to replenish their receiver room somehow, now Cooper gets to play for his home state team, we'll see if that reinvigorates his game any.

I took a sip of the triple triple last night, i think it reminded me of caramel more than chestnut, but will update my review later.

I think Bigsur lived in a drier, flatter part of CO before moving to a homestead in an Oregon rainforest this year. Couldnt be more different, moving from dry prairie to temperate rain forest. He's got big plans this year to build on the land, make it more homey.

A 24hr pizza place sounds very convenient, PW. Might not be the best pizza, but seems like they have good deals and it hits the spot when hot and fresh.

im thinking of hooking a pizza up later this week plus i have a free pie! so i might make the freebee the stuff crust one
24 hr joints rock; its mostly the fast food and mexi joints but you cant beat it for late night grinds

tomorrow is st paddies day so its more corned beef and im going to make a fish didsh as well, but they also have snow crab on sale so im going to grab a couple clusters and eat those up with my mom later in the week
darnold and cooper seem like soldid pieces to start with, dident darnold win like 12+ game last season?
the nfc.w looks wide open right now with the rams sitting pretty on top and then sea sf in rebuild mode
az is a wild card in my book and we will see if candy krush can level the team up

camt wait for @bigsur51 next update! its been rainy so im thinking he been taking some off days but spring is in the air

things are kinda slow right now and yes , lots of rain

we will be making a trip back to Colorado to sell some property and then reconsolidate back in Washington…

if I settle in Washington does that mean I have to root for the fukin’ Seahawks?…

The woman might stop by the local grocery chain to grab some cabbage, it's on sale for 19c/lb, but we'll be making cabbage rolls with it, not soup.
Darnold looked elite until the last week of the season and their playoff game but he was in a great situation with a great playcalling head coach (former QB coach for mcvay) and Justin jefferson to throw to. Not sure how he'll be with seattle, i doubt he'll regress to ny jets level but we'll see.
Rams with stafford back and davante and puka to throw to, kyren williams at RB, ascending defense, yeah they could easily repeat as division champs, especially since the 49ers lost a lot of talent this offseason. AZ might be an impediment but i doubt they'll be more than a nuisance.

I was mistaken, Bigsur is in WA, not OR. Close enough tho, right? Lol. Are you a drinker, Bigsur? I hear the booze taxes in WA state are pretty hefty. Maybe you can brew ur own booze as well as grow ur own cannabis. Those are some mighty fine looking trees, you'll probably have to chop down a few, hopefully u can use the wood for something useful (fire, building, etc).

oh wow man, did you build up that hill side yourself?
jk brother and that looks like an awesome backdrop
it that part of your land?
/i never cheched the toppo on that link you posted and maybe that 10 acres is all up hill
hows that river looking? with all this rain i bet its a good bit higher and running fast
is there still any snow? we had a storm come through the other day that pushed the snow levels down to 3000ft and its been chilly af outside
/makes for perfect hiking weather
if you are just settling down in wash i would not root for sea, that just makes you look desperate to fit in
if nothing else you can root for the dolphins!
this is going to be their year!

I was born in Seattle but have never been a Seahawks fan. It was easy to become a Broncos fan though when we moved here. I love the West Coast, but it's gotten too overpopulated. I miss the green for sure.

I think you take ur fandom wherever you go, Bigsur, that's why there's so many packers and steelers fans everywhere, cause they just couldnt wait to move out of WI and Pittsburgh.
But u make a good point, that local broadcasts will be mostly seahawks games, so ur going to be watching a lot of them in the future, they might have to become ur 2nd favorite team.

Is that the river that Bigsur goes panning for gold in? I hear gold hit 3K/oz for the 1st time, a few thick nuggets from that river will go nicely to building up the land.

Maybe when PW was a kid the Hawks werent that good, they were an expansion team in '76 and probably didnt have great local support till more recently, especially the pete carroll/legion of boom era.

Supposedly Rodgers might go to the vikings, if they'll have him, if they could make darnold look good then they should make rodgers an MVP again. Funny how this is almost exactly the same career path that brett favre took, going to the jets (for 1 yr while rodgers spent 2 yrs in NY) and then the vikings. I know a lot of packers fans were pretty pissed at brett for signing with a bitter rival, but money's money...

Guys I did warn you about the cringe pics,Ended up in a different town entirely. So sorry about the pics as there wasn’t much happening in ballygobackwards.. The pubs would close during the parades then reopen. We need to navigate our way out of here as soon as..

no liquor here Amigo , I am allergic to alcohol , every time I get around it I breakout in handcuffs

and booze triggers my migraines , bad ones , so I avoid booze cause as much as I love a good margarita , the migraine ain’t worth it

my apologies for missing some questions , I can’t keep up

but yeah , we are headed back to the high plains of eastern Colorado to sell our home and move to Washington and consolidate our resources in hopes of building a new home on 10 acres in the woods , a 10 acre tree farm

there is enough lumber on these 10 acres to build 100 homes is my scientific wild ass guess…full of fir , cedar , maple , and alder

the photos of the river are the Elwah river which is about 5 miles from our property and yes it’s full of gold

a lot of rules and regulations in this liberal state so I have to be careful where I pan and have been staying on our 10 acres and pan the creek that runs through the property

man, those trees are awesome and its going to be fun watching that property come together
could you set up a sluice box on your property?
even if its just the fines its cool to find neat shit in nature
my mom and sister are both allergic to alcohol and dont drink, but im the lucky one i guess

@superx
those pics are rad! and its fun to see someplace so different from where i live
looks like everyone is having a great time and enjoying the parade
oh yeah, thats a bad ass tractor
so do you guys pub hop after the parade
how about the food, like do you just grab something to eat as you go or do you have a place you will sit down and eat and then get back to the drinking
my friend made scotch eggs this weekend! they were good but she made a ton and im not sure i need to eat 6 coated hard boiled eggs she gave me
unfortunately here in california 6 eggs will cost you about $18 plus tax!

i saw how qron was looking at going to min @Bababooey
like you said its almost like hes trying to be the second coming of favre! im just waiting for him to text dick pics to olivia munn
/it is then that we will have achieved full favre
more football talk to come...
so what are you doing today babs? have you been hitting that bottle?
i am thinking of throwing a corned beef on the bbq and putting some smoke to it, but i also have the one i made the other day so im going to eat that up today with cabbage and sour kraut, taters cabbage and carrots
i feel like ive dropped a little weight this past week, all this healthy eating has got me going and i might keep it up and even up my exercise level

3k an oz of gold is nice, it just shows where the economy is heading but unless you are holding the actually holding the gold like big sur its a suckers game

yes and it’s in the plans

it’s peculiar that you ask about a sluice box

my gf’s great grampa hand built a wooden sluice box about 10’ long and we surmise that he used it around here

I won’t build one , there are a lot of cool hobby sluice boxes for sale

in the meantime I will continue to pan ……no pickers yet , only a few specs of really fine flour gold

here is my gf scouting out a spot on the creek

they are cheap and it wold be easy to set up one or two so you could get a pail or two of high grade to pan
plus check out the design and see what you would improve upon and go from there
once that snow melts that should be a good flow through there

but the real treasure is that land and living how you do
