Yo, lead poisoning?!? Geezus, that's a lot to process. And ur mom is pretty sick as well, not just from the c-word?
We got some lead water pipes around here, the city's water main is lead free but from the main in the street to the home could very well be lead if the house is pretty old (like pre WW2 or earlier). They recommend you run your taps for a bit in the morning or whenever the water has been sitting in the pipes for a while. If the water is moving fairly often it's not collecting as much lead.

Not sure if u can sue the city, maybe a doctor if they didnt diagnose it earlier and should have. Or maybe u can sue the city if they didnt tell u your water might have lead in it and warn u to get it tested. Not sure about that either. What does google tell u? How about chatgpt?

Ur granddad died of lead poisoning, Pops? Man, that's grim. Im assuming he didnt eat flakes of paint like a kid would do, was it just touching it a lot that got the lead in his system? I wonder what dying of lead poisoning is like. Sounds like an awful way to go.

Haha Wallace is rocking the antlers. How old was he when this picture was taken? He looked happy and healthy.
those look like awesome pups
Wallace Franklin is his official name. He was 2.5 years old then. We adopted him and Bonnie a week apart. They were from a litter of puppies found abandoned during Tropical Storm Debbie in 2012. There were 4 females and 1 male.

There was a Wallace before Wallace Franklin. He was a Golden Retriever that we purchased from a local breeder in January 2012. Not long after I was diagnosed with prostate cancer and Wallace became my cancer dog. He rode with me every morning for radiation treatments. He curled up in the driver;s seat and waited for me. He was a 'high energy' pup and he loved to run like no other dog I have ever known. We took two obedience training classes and we failed both times. LOL

MamaD and I made a trip to Lake Tahoe to visit her cousin. The morning before our flight home I got a call from the Vet that Wallace was found dead in his kennel that morning. Necropsy was negative and cause of death unknown. I was crushed, and when MamaD went back to work Monday I was a tearful mess.

My very close friend and his wife adopted one of the abandoned pups and he told me there was a male. The shelter was closed for the weekend so I sent an email telling them I would be at their door when it opened. The lady at the shelter gave me a stack of papers to fill out and while I was doing that we were making small talk. She mentioned that she named the male I was adopting . . . WALLACE. Tear ducts went to full open and I told her about my Wallace. She then said she had named over 500 animals and that was the first time she used the name.

When I took Wallace for his first checkup I told the story to Dr. Beth and we both teared up. She then asked me if it would be OK to change his name. He became Wallace Franklin from Franklin County. From then on he would introduce himself, "Hi. My name is Wallace Franklin from Franklin County, but you can call me Wallace."

Bonnie stared me down from an outside enclosure when I dropped off a leash the shelter loaned me to take Wallace Franklin home. The shelter was closed on a Sunday. She sat motionless at attention and watched me. I was out of Bonnie's sight line when I hung the leash on the front door knob. When I returned to the car she was still sitting and staring at me with her big dark eyes. I turned to MamaD and said, "That's going to be hard to forget." I was at the shelter that Monday morning and Bonnie came home with me.

@shithawk420 Lead exposure/poisoning screening test is a simple blood test. A finger stick is all that is required to begin. Call your local health department for some low cost/no cost options.
yeah, normally it would be easy.but these fucks are a poor excuse for health officials.it takes literally months just to see anyone.ive about had it up to here with these idiots. theres a lead therapy i need to do but i cant get any treatment till literally next year. im pissed and extremely livid.i hate the fucking QC.this is unacceptable.im about to get a lawyer its so bad

Hows tricks Buzz, cute doggies, unconditional love is what ya get... Love the antlers, the Led Christmas collars will be popping up soon enough.

Hey babba hope your well, the nft tables has a trickle of water running down the trays, once the spreader has enough roots the trickle of water would be constant 24/7 just a matter of maintaining the rez.
The hand feeding was coco, every 2-3days in veg and then every day throughout flower..
NFT I enjoyed, but comes with hight restrictions as the highest end of the trays sat on the reservoir restricting head height...

Using smaller pot sizes this time around for the biobizz to fit more plants, with the smaller pot sizes im sure I will find my self having to water every two days anyway.. Chasing the flavours.
Karmas head banger (the old one) some jack and blockhead croses from chrimera is what's been cooking up.

Hey pops hope your good, maybe your woman will join you at some stage over the festive period.
It's a good time for it.
What about your mum will she be going to Asia?
Don't be by yourself, jet over to Ireland 😊 my front door is never closed, there will be a seat at the table and enough meat to feed a small army, there won't be a brussel sprout in sight I tell ya. Not sure what will be on the menu, last year was goat curry, it could be venison or rib of beef.
Nobody likes turkey, I don't mind it myself in a sandwich with stuffing washed down with a pint of milk..
Herself looks after the condiments and desserts..

I seen those led projectors last year, suburbian living man with finely manicured gardens, they look cool.
I like the candles as well, there's always one burning here.. I usually end up throwing lights on the oaks out the back, I love seeing the lights going up, bit like a child in a sweetie shop.

Most of Ireland is covered in a blanket of snow, was -2/-3 this morning, the country usually comes to a standstill once it hits zero..
2 of the lads who didn't turn up for work this morning both had car issues 🙄

Ah, i remember the Wallace story, thanks for giving more detail. Cant imagine why he passed at the kennel like that, that's gotta be every pet owner's nightmare. Hopefully he passed peacefully.
It's great you took in both shelter dogs, im sure theyre loving life at the homestead. Lots of room to run and things to sniff. Are they pretty good with not running off the property or do u have to fence them in?

Yeah hawk call around to some lawyers and see if any of them think u have a case. It couldnt hurt and may give you some sense of control over this effed up situation.

Ive never done Nutrient Film Technique, superx, have heard of it but forgot what it is now, sounds like a killer way to grow a mass of roots. Keep roots moist and airy, im sure growth was fast.
Ive done coco in pots before, using this little drip irrigation system that worked pretty well. Hand watering every day can be a chore but i figure you need to be checking on the girls every day during the grow, look for pests, trim leaves, move pots around etc. It's been a while since ive grown tho so i dont miss the grind; when youve got work and family and a social life to attend to, spending half an hour to an hour gardening every day can be a chore.

Goat curry? You cooked that yourself? Interesting dish. I love a good curry but dont like the thought of cooking it indoors, even with ventilation.

If most of the country is at a standstill when it's that cold how come you have to work? Hope you're not working outdoors at least.
That's a lovely view, not sure if anywhere in the States looks like that, vaguely reminds me of someplace like Montana with the gently rolling landscape and hills in the background, but way more green. They dont call it the Emerald isle for nothing.

Is that a beef and vegetable stew? With a roll on the side? I could eat 2 of those plates after a day in the cold, maybe 3.

Both Wallaces are on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge. Bonnie is that last one. Wallace Franklin developed seizures shortly after we came home from our cross country trip in 2016. He was on meds 24/7 for years, but nothing controlled them. He and Bonnie liked to be close to the fire. He thought she was a good pillow.

the dumpster fire that is the cleveland browns
No dumpster fire last night. It was snow crab weather and Mr. Crab Legs was slinging snow balls. Tough game. Good for Jameis.
im just pissed that @shithawk has to come out of pocket for this stuff
It's the lowest price and quickest option to find out the exposure to lead. Convert some alcohol money into a blood test, @shithawk.

So the city told Hawk he has lead pipes but he's not sure if he had high lead levels in his blood? Can he go to a doctor and have them check and insurance pay for it instead of shelling out $60? Or maybe he can get reimbursed from his insurance.
Not a bad idea just to confirm, also to tell his doc that he may have lead poisoning.

Browns surprisingly pulled out a win vs the steelers last night, they beat the ravens a couple weeks ago as well. Somehow theyre crap against everyone but teams in their division. Sometime to consider in future bets maybe. Myles garrett had some foot issues earlier in the season but seems healthy now. Jameis wasnt great but had a rush td.

Ah Bonnie, she's the sole survivor now? Im guessing she likes having all of the humans' attention now but does miss her buddy Wallace sometimes.

That's a nice looking wood burning stove. You ever cook a stew on top of it while it's going all day? Seems like it would be an efficient use of the heat if u dont mind your house smelling like food all the time.

Hey Babba,

The meat is cheap ground lamb, 8 euro a kilo or there abouts it makes a grand stew..
I much prefer eating lamb at spring time, different taste and texture all together.. (lambing season)
Goat Curry is lovely slow cooked over time, we use lime leaves as its near impossible sourcing Curry leaves. Jamaican Joe's in the city served up a mean Curry as he did jerky chicken until he decide to close the doors, shame, I think the rent was crippling him..

Why won't you cook Curry indoors, just down to the smell? I'm not cooking outdoors today it's minus ferking 2 out there.. Mrs superx does not mind the smell as it nutrilises the smell of ganga 😄
zero degrees temps brings traffic to a halt in the city, pedestrians are like zombies, the same can be said when there's a heavy down pour of rain, sure its all we talk about over here babba is the weather its a conversation starter for most.

They use those coloured weather warnings over here, yellow/orange/red they have only started doing it the last few years..
It's a pile of bollox, though I believe when there is a red weather warning giving out your insurance is non avoid if your work vehicle is involved in a accident due to the weather, or a tree happens to fall on your head..Hasnt been many red warnings.

Good day pops, I will settle for chemical/diesel from the headbangers and hoping for some church/incense from the chrimera crosses, that stink you get from your grandparents wardrobe from the early 80s lol- fusty borderlining on the mold side.. For sure I will be chasing the high for second place..
Glue and gelato, your in heaven man give yourself a pinch.. Is this Jose's GG4? I must be one of the few people left on the planet yet to try it, im sure im missing out. Is the glue one of your favourites? Daytime/evening. Which gelato are you sucking on, I really enjoyed barneys 33 the variation was of the scale, no two plants looked the same lol, was sweet tasting dank that lingers for days...

I'm slightly more elevated pops from the picture taken, it has has its moments..
The spot will be left open for ya, not a bother at all.
Don't forget the King crab my good man...

Those dogs look very happy snugged in to that fire, nice Woodburner Buzz, have you got a back boiler running off that to heat the radiators. I'm thinking your running oil/gas as I recall you having to replace the valve on your tank..

8 euro/kilo is about $5lb, not a bad price for lamb. Lamb is really expensive here in the states. Is it really ground lamb youre buying for that price, not ground mutton?

So u use curry powder in the curried goat? I can understand curry leaves not being readily available but curry powder shouldnt be that hard to find.
The woman doesnt like strong cooking odors and we dont have much ventilation in the kitchen so stuff like curry and fish indoors is strongly disfavored. But ur right, cooking outdoors when it's freezing is a terrible idea, and food odors are much preferable to skunk odors lol.

I love talking about the weather. Too hot, too cold, just right. Buzz and I talk about h-words all the time, Pops tells me about the heat waves during the summer. I feel like it's a little like experiencing it myself without actually traveling anywhere.

Im not sure if Buzz has any home heating other than the wood stove, maybe he does, but i thought the valve issue was his water pump/well water.

Hey babba it's €4.25 per 500 grams, (store purchased, not the butchers) Haven't seen mutton for ages, takes about 3days to cook it lol, little demand for that sort of beast.
Spring lamb would be more natural as the mother would be feeding of the finest greener pastures outdoors early spring, you can taste the difference...

So lamb for me is seasonal, you can purchase fresh lamb all year round. This lamb is brought into the world under artificial lighting not the sun nor feeding of green pastures. Its born in a shed in the winter time under hps lighting, giving the sheep a false impression of the hps mimicking the sun 🌞 brilliant eh and the added advantage of warmth.

This lamb is feed by the mother some times bottle fed from the farmer, after this its main diet consists of dry meal and pellets until its slaughtered.
There's a massive difference in the final product when it comes down to taste/smell/texture.
Spring lamb for the win..

Unless Brendan from the village is pulling my leg....

Hey babba, usually with Curry I normally make the paste from scratch (no curry powder) unless I'm adding Garam masala, either coconut milk/tomato based..
Cooking large pots of stews/casseroles/soups/curries is the way to go I find at this time of the year, plenty of eating for days for families and batcherlors also cutting out on prep time...
Your up late babba, are you lashing the wine in to you?
