i dont know what the future holds for jimmy'g but i dont think sf is his forever home
i could see another team amking an offer but with his history of injury he is a tough sell

from what i heard whitworth is one of those big old oaks who just got better with age
i know how things get tougher as you get older but this guy was solid as a rock at aged 40
im sure he will go on to much bigger and better things (he was the walter payton nice guy of the year) but the rams will have a big hole to fill on th o'line
i dont know who had the best draft this year; but im sure some of the guys will rise to the top over time
the rams basically drafted" stafford and im happy with him as our new qb

I took Mom to Kelly's at Revere Beach earlier...fish plate, order of clams.
Pop rocks I thought you were Boston area? The Rams man? They're pretty good. Offensive line can't be matched.

One thing most people forget with the baker and jimmy g situations is both of them had shoulder surgery recently and are still rehabbing so teams are naturally hesitant to give up valuable draft picks until they know these dudes can pass a physical.
Supposedly jimmy wont be able to throw till July. I think last year there were 3 trades in June/July (julio jones to the titans was one) and then a bunch in Aug when training camps open so it’s possible both these QBs could be moved this summer.

Whitworth was definitely an outlier at O-line, showing little dropoff in performance into his late 30’s. Marshal yanda was an all-pro guard for the ravens when he retired at 35. Joe Thomas played 10K consecutive snaps for 11yrs before retiring at 33 because his body was aging in dog years. Whitworth is like brady, just a statistical anomaly, playing well at an age when every other player broke down or started sucking and had to retire.

The NY teams, jets and giants, got good draft grades, mostly because they were perceived to get good value (didn’t pick anyone earlier than ‘experts’ thought they should go) and address areas of need. Giants got a good DL and OL and Jets got a good CB and WR in the 1st rd.

I haven’t gotten attached enough to any of my vehicles to name them, maybe someday if I end up living in a van I’ll name it something.

I did some car work on my mom’s car for mothers day, did an oil change and a battery change. My mom doesn’t want to go to restaurants cause covid’s still around even though she’s vaccinated, so we got some take out middle eastern food. All in all, a good day.

DB, boston area seafood sounds like a perfect meal. I think that kelly’s place has been on food network before, it’s got great food for reasonable prices.
Mac jones had the best year statistically out of all the rookie QBs, in comparison trevor Lawrence, zach Wilson and justin fields had pretty terrible stats. He might turn out to be the best QB out of all of them but it’s still really early, he had the advantage of being on the best team of the rookie QBs last year.

@Bababooey if it wouldn't go bad I would mail you some stuff from Kelly's. They're right on the beach in Revere! They're known for their roast beef sandwiches!!! Mmmmm. They had great clams yesterday. Was like $25 for a sack of clams. I ate all them suckers. Gave some to a couple seagulls. One was crying but I changed their mood! Bet they never get fried clams before. Made me happy. They really gobbled it up.

Yeah i found it strange that a place in massachusetts that sells seafood and lobster rolls is called kelly's roast beef but i guess they claim to have invented the modern roast beef sandwich?
We have seagulls at lake michigan but i dont feed them at all, last time i fed some years ago one of them got mad they didnt get any food and pooped on my head. What a little a-hole.

i have a bday coming up and im getting me some fried fish and a plate of clams
this place sounds dank and i would eat their sandiwches plus the seafood
how can anyone say they invented the modern roast beef sandwich? i knew a guy who married this mexican girl who was supposed to be heir to the place that invented the ceasars salad
she was dirt poor and always needing a hand out, plus she lived in tj where it is dirt cheap

Yeah you would think the first sandwich ever invented would basically be beef on bread with maybe some cheese, back in the 1700’s by the Earl of Sandwich (supposedly he wanted a quick meal he could eat while at the gambling table and not get his hands dirty) but maybe kelly’s does something special with theirs? Put horseradish on it or something? Not sure…

I have a question doob, do people eat the clams with any sauce or condiments? Are the clams steamed or boiled?

Another consideration is that if any other team’s starting QB gets injured in the offseason or during camp then you’ll probably quickly see a trade for either baker or jimmy g. Also the lions didn’t draft a QB and theyre tied to goof for one more year (pay him 26M for 2022 then can release him in 2023 for 10M cap hit) so maybe they might be interested? Or maybe they want Goof to be the tank commander so they can get bryce young or cj stroud next draft.

Chargers, chiefs and broncos are 10.5 o/u on # of wins next year. U think chargers are good for at least 11 wins next year? Most ‘experts’ think they had a really good offseason with getting Khalil mack and jc Jackson, and then re signing mike Williams.

I guess earl Thomas is having trouble with his estranged wife and she has an order of protection that he’s violated too often so that’s why it’s a felony. He’s been out of football the last 2 yrs so maybe the CTE is starting to show up. the best ones in my opinion arent really battered but more like breaded
a batter would be too thick and leave you eating a string of clam with a ton of batter
breaded bring just the right amount of crispy crunch but you can still taste whats inside
you could eat good clams with just a squeeze of lemon and some salt, but i like the fatty goodness of tarter sauce
with three teams having more than 10 wins you are basically looking at the whole div going to playoffs for the most part

thats a tough oe, i like andy reid and think mahommie can bring the heat, we will see what rus cooks up in denver and the chargers have a hot young gunslinger plus a loaded roster

There’s this stuffed clam dish that you see in all the Chinese buffets around here, it’s a clam on the half shell and they put some breading/stuffing on the clam and then bake it. Ive tried it here and there and it’s never really that good, the breading to clam ratio is off like you said, but if you go to a higher end buffet it’s a lot better.

Yeah, all the power in the NFL might be concentrated in the west, NFC and AFC west. Might not be a total shocker to see all 4 teams in the conference championship game be from the west next season.
Vegas Raiders have an 8.5 o/u win total, they extended Carr and traded for Davante Adams but I guess oddsmakers weren’t too impressed with that.

I forgot to comment on the team slogans in your previous post, it seems like most of them come from each team’s song (bear down, go pack go, etc). Not sure why the rams are Mob squad, supposedly it started their last season in st louis and continued in LA but I don’t think ive ever heard Mob squad associated with them. Do the rams have a fight song?

Yeah it's crazy that an ex-player can make more announcing a game than they did playing. Not sure what makes a guy giving color commentary worth 2M a game but whatever.

Most of these team fight songs were probably made decades ago, I think the bears one was written in the 40s. So different era. Ur right, they probably should be updated for today’s culture.

Bills top the O/U win projections at 11.5. Bottom is 4.5 wins with the Texans and Falcons. Surprisingly the jaguars are projected for 6.5 wins, they got doug Peterson who won a title with the eagles in 2017, maybe he can be the QB whisperer for Lawrence.

Also the first MNF game features broncos and chef Russ against the seahawks. Hawks are projected for only 5.5 wins so we’ll see how they stack up, if they start geno smith or drew lock all year I could see them getting 5 wins or less. But if they trade for baker they should get 6 wins or more, y’think? I guess there’s a chance they also trade DK Metcalf this offseason, he’s on the last year of his contract and wants an extension for 25M+/yr and im not sure the hawks want to pay that…

Speaking of china food, there’s this Chinese takeout place a couple miles from me that’s pretty decent and consistent, they have lunch specials for like $8 you get an entrée with chicken fried rice and an eggroll. The eggroll is pretty low quality, filled with cabbage and that Chinese mystery meat/catfood that you mentioned lol. But the entrée and rice is alright, here’s general tso’s chicken.

I haven’t really noticed but now that you mention it yeah, there should be more bits of peas and carrots in there. Good catch.
Yeah the lunch special is a good deal, it’s like 2.50 less than normal price. Americanized Chinese food is hardly similar to the real deal stuff and is probably much worse health wise haha, that sauce is pure sugar and the chicken is battered and deep fried.

Team fight songs aren’t really a thing anymore, they might play it during the intro to a post game show but during games or timeouts they’ll play regular modern day songs. I couldn’t even tell you how the bears fight song goes, only that it has “Bear down, Chicago bears…”

Dean spanos definitely doesn’t deserve nice things but unfortunately the chargers might be pretty darn good next season. Hopefully for all the betrayed san diego fans the chargers curse will bite them in the playoffs like it usually does. I do like Herbert though he seems like a nice guy, really competitive but not arrogant about it, and seems to shun the spotlight, he’s not all about ‘look at me’.

Brady earned 28M his first year in Tampa and 39M last year so he’s been making up for lost time, I think this year he’s going to make 30M. Still, with guys like Rodgers set to make 50M/yr (over the next 3 yrs) and mahomes and allen making 43-45M/yr, Brady has been a relative bargain. He led the league with 5300 pass yds and 43 tds and came in 2nd in MVP voting to Rodgers last season.
