I'm in the @shithawk camp re. TB. He was a great quarterback with many stats and wins. I never liked him and I liked him less when he came down here to Tampa Bay. That's a carpet bagger move.

Hey buzz, the wearing of Helmets and also face guards was always compulsory at minor level and also the under21s, at senior level it was inforced ( guessing10-15 years) lots of players would of suffered from fractured skulls, bleeding of the brain, broken jaws, and the loss of teeth. Hurls are made of Ashwood, was speaking to a friend a while back and he was telling me they might start making them out of bamboo (because of the ash die-back disease) most of the ash trees in Ireland will have to be cut down because of this disease, the ash tree rots from the inside so the longer that goes on the tree will serve no purpose ( it won't even be fit for firewood) even though we import the majority of our ash from Scandinavian countries, its crazy because the ash tree is one of the most common trees in Ireland. Tree surgeons (those who get the contracts to remove them) will make a nice tidy sum out of it.

The sliotar ( it wouldn't be referred to as a ball) though some people do can not be picked up from the ground directly with your hand, you must use the hurley for that, you can either roll the sliotar on to it or flick it onto the hurl or just lift it onto it using the hurl. When running with the sliotar on the hurley (balanced on it) there is no time limit. That's say you catch the sliotar in the air (which you said is fair game, as it is) 4 steps is all you can take, you can also pass with your hand or even kick it to your team mate. Bent digits- that made me laugh.. Its aproper Hardy fast game it would certainly be our national sport. Kilkenny, above in the video won many titles and were a proper force when Brian coady was at the helm, they have lots of youth in the team at the moment with serious potential so it's only a matter of time before they get back to winning ways (it's always good to have a mix of youth and some senior heads on the side) kilkenny lost last years final to limerick. Limerick have won the All Ireland hurling for the past 4 years in arow, remarkable record (I don't think any team has ever won 5 in a row) they might do that this year, most of there players are 6ft plus and really physical to play against, they eventually break you down. They are a great team. I have watched them several times in the county championships, they beat Clare last Sunday in the munster final which is there 6th county championship win in a row, a powerful side Buzz.

On Aug. 24 in Dublin @5PM Irish Time the Florida State Seminoles will play the Georgia Tech Yellowjackets for their seasoner opener. Florida State University is a few miles down the road and they are a college team that every true Irishman roots for.

Maybe they will be on the telly and you can do the play by play for your friends who gather for the auspicious event.

No I have not. I have knives but nothing like a Benchmade. When I was working in a nursery I carried a Case Sodbuster. It fit well in my right front pocket of my jeans. It fit next to my wallet.

I met up with two friends for a smoke and some lunch and a couple beers yesterday. Hangar 38 was the spot and a first time there for me. I was thinking fish earlier in the day when I saw this:

Hurling is a wild looking sport, it's like a cross of baseball and american football and soccer. Did it predate all those sports? Are most modern sports descendents of gaelic games? Or maybe Im thinking of Middle-earth, from Lord of the Rings.

I had to read it again, almost thought it was FSU vs Notre Dame in Ireland, in which case you know who Superx would be rooting for.
It will be interesting to see how the FSU draftees do in the NFL this season, and also how FSU reloads this year. Im thinking losing as much talent as they did they wont finish 12-0 again but if their recruiting (including the portal) and development are firmly among the elite in college football then maybe they become like OSU or Georgia and 11-12 win seasons are the norm.

/funny story, so i tell my moms friend who lives in gainesville im a fan of the gators
well some how they get this twisted to im a fan of alligators? you ever seen that three wolf moon shirt? i basically have the same thing but with alligators on it
that grilled fish looks awesome and red fish is awesome! the black beans and rice sounds like a nice side and it all looks like its seasoned to perfection

I like the Noles' color scheme, cant go wrong with garnet and gold. I also thought bobby bowden was a wholesome person, as far as football coaches go. But if they were playing Notre Dame, i'd have to root for the irish, just cause theyre almost a local school to me.

Hawk likes to live dangerously, but he's smart enough to not carry a switchblade around with him if it's against the law. I wonder if there's any states where it would be legal. Maybe texas?

Yeah, i can carry around an ar15 in TX legally, but if i carry a switchblade it's a felony. Make it make sense.

College football? Georgia and ohio state and TX. Michigan and alabama would be up there but are breaking in new coaches so not too sure about them. Maybe Oklahoma will be great too. Those would be my top 4, im sure ill be wrong on some of them tho.
