Next try: 400W CMH Satori & KC33

I just got home at 10pm and couldn't resist the temptation of taking a quick look into the tent even though the lights were out already. I was in for an awesome surprise because my friend who tended to the plants while I was gone not only treated the grow room to a much-needed tidying up but also tied down the plants in a scrog arrangement that uses the available space better than before, and from what I can see, they are LOVING it! They're already looking pretty ripe, some might be ready to start the flush soon (though I didn't see much cause I didn't want to disturb their sleep too much). I'll go back down tomorrow to take some pics and have a closer look myself.

OK, here we go. The pics don't do the plants justice at all, I still haven't figured out how to make them look good under the HPS. I'll take some more tonight when the lights are out.

Satori
P1010299.jpg

The big KC33, definitely running this one again
P1010302.jpg

This is a different satori, very frosty, depending on the yield I might keep her too
P1010306.jpg

This is the same satori as the first one, you can't really see it but it's a very dark purple. Unfortunately she's been making a few seeds, but nothing too wild.
P1010307.jpg

This is a KC33 that's extremely frosty, probably the frostiest plant I've got. I don't have a mother plant of this one so I'll try revegging her, she looks super dank.
To be continued in the next post because of the image limit

And this is the big KC33 again, same as the second pic
P1010297.jpg

This is the mother/seedling/clone area, they're all growing nicely except for those goddamned SSH x WW that won't come out of the ground.
P1010298.jpg

And this is the whole thing, you can see the new arrangement my friend fixed up very nicely.

I'm not quite sure whether I should just start flushing with the next watering or first have them on GHE Ripen for a few days... Any advice?

Here are some flash shots with the lights out:
P1010315.jpg

This one's a bud of the big KC33 plant
P1010316.jpg

This one's a smaller KC33 with like 6 top buds on stupidly long branches (I think that's why they came out so small), but it's extremely resinous. I don't have a clone so I'll try and reveg it.
P1010317.jpg

This is a nice and colorful (and sticky) satori
P1010318.jpg

I think this is the third KC33 female but I'm not quite sure.
P1010319.jpg

And this is the big and sticky satori with the fat golf ball (although a bit larger, hehe) tops

This is a smaller bud from the same plant, looking even more awesome
P1010322.jpg

And this is another shot of the huge KC33 pheno.

I think they will be ready for harvest in 1-2 weeks, maybe 3 at the most, so I'll start the flush after 1 more watering and then another dose of GHE Ripen.

Hi everyone, I haven't updated for a while but the grow is still going on. I can't post any pics right now because I don't have my camera here, but I wanted to ask for some help: It's day 71 now, and none of the plants are ready yet, and on almost all of them the leaves are turning really yellow and some are drying up. Now, I know that leaves turning yellow is normal at this stage, but should they be drying up? I haven't been feeding them (with the exception of the huge KC33, that one looks like it's gonna take another 2-3 weeks) anything for the last 7-10 days or so, was that a mistake?

Just to let everyone know, I didn't just let this grow die. I harvested the last plant a few days ago, total yield looks to be about 100-150g, which is pretty dismal. However, most plants came out extremely potent and some also have a lovely taste and smell, especially the Satoris. This stuff really blows the commercial shit around here out the water. As soon as all the plants are dry - I'm using the box to dry them since they won't dry fully without the air circulation it has - I'm gonna start the next round, the cuts are already planted and growing nicely under the fluoros.

Thanks, I'm charging the camera now so I can take some pics of the dried product.
OK, here we go:
P1010504.jpg

This one's a satori, smells nice and fruity and is very strong.
P1010503.jpg

This is the super resinous KC33 pheno, extremely strong but doesn't smell too strongly or distinctively.
P1010502.jpg

close up of a bud from that plant
P1010501.jpg

this is another satori, gonna be growing this again. It's very strong and the smell is extremely pungent and sour.
P1010500.jpg

Another KC33, I lost a lot of it to mold while it was drying. All the other plants weren't affected though.

Hi Hazelnuts.

A very interesting grow for me to see as I grew Satori under cfl/hps last year. I have to say my plants seemed more bushy and the buds were a little bigger. Also Satori didn't get the mold like the two free seeds the shop sent.

Mandala take some beating imho. Good luck with the next one

Yeah, as you may be able to tell I screwed up big time on this grow by keeping them in small pots and way too close together for way too long in the veg time. It's all good though, the next grow's gonna be better :D

And yeah satori gave me no mold problems at all even though the densest buds I got were from satori plants, one KC33 was sadly almost totally obliterated by mold while drying, only managed to save like 5g.

Here's a pic of the next grow, the back row (except for the one all the way to the right) is my huge KC33 pheno and the front row (again, except for the one to the right) is the super stinky sour satori. The two plants to the right are a nice satori pheno that smells of (hazel)nuts and that stayed green all the way to the end in the last grow, something that only 2 plants did.

These have already been vegging for like 4 weeks or so, but in rather small pots and under my crappy 144W aquarium T8s which keeps them growing very slowly. They've been speeding up a lot during their 6 days under the CMH. I sure hope I can get more yield this time, shooting for 300g or so.

Here's a little update on the girls currently in the tent. They've been in there for 2 weeks now and their growth rate is through the roof, like an inch a day. I'm switching them to 12/12 in a few days, I want the two laggers to the right to catch up a bit.

Well, I've taken out the CMH and switched it for the HPS now. The buds are already forming very nicely, especially on the big KC33 lady (she's gonna yield like 40g per plant this time, I can feel it :D) and we're only at 19 days! again, front row is satori plant #5 from the last grow, with a nice sour stinky smell, back row is the huge KC33 plant and the two gals to the right are another satori pheno with a nice distinctive wine smell to it.

P1010514.jpg

This is the satori #5
P1010513.jpg

And here's a shot of the KC33
P1010511.jpg

In other news, I might have to give these to a friend's friend for a while due to 5-0 trouble but we'll see about that. Either way I'll try to keep this updated, or I might make a new thread for this run.

Yeah, the plants are out of the house now and the grow room's all cleaned up. Unfortunately I managed to break the box's zipper while trying to get it out of the house, gonna have to get a new one to set up at my friend's house soon. Luckily they have enough space to split the actual grow and the mother plants between 2 rooms in the meantime.

1ManGrow, thanks for stopping by!

I wish I could post some pics, but as the plants aren't here that will have to wait until I bring my friend the new grow box.

I visited them on tuesday, here's the only pic I took (the lights were out so I didn't wanna disturb them too much)
P1010518.jpg

They're looking really nice, much greener than the last generation at this stage. The new box is a 3x3' square, in case you were wondering about the different arrangement. They're on day 42 on the pic.
